1 Whether thou shalt be able to draw out Leviathan with an hook, and shalt bind with a rope his tongue? (Shalt thou be able to draw out \+em this\+em* Leviathan with a hook, or bind his tongue with a rope?)
1 “Você é capaz de pescar o monstro Leviatã com um anzol e prender a sua língua com uma corda?
2 Whether thou shalt put a ring in his nostrils, either shalt pierce his cheek[bone] with an hook? (Shalt thou put a ring in his nostrils, or pierce his cheekbone with a hook?)
2 Você consegue passar uma vara de junco pelo nariz dele? Ou furar o queixo dele com um gancho?
3 Whether he shall multiply prayers to thee, either shall speak soft things to thee? (Shall he say many prayers to thee, \+em pleading and begging\+em*, or speak soft things to thee?)
3 Por acaso ele lhe fará muitas súplicas? Ou lhe falará palavras brandas?
4 Whether he shall make a covenant with thee, and shalt thou take him (for) a servant everlasting? (Shall he make a covenant with thee, and then shalt thou make him thy everlasting servant?)
4 Será que ele fará um acordo com você, para que seja seu escravo para sempre?

5 Será que você vai brincar com ele, como se fosse um passarinho? Irá prendê-lo com uma corda, para dá-lo às suas meninas?
6 Shall friends carve him (up), shall merchants part him (among themselves)?

7 Whether thou shalt fill nets with his skin, and a fish basket with his head? (Shalt thou fill his skin with harpoons, or his head with fish-hooks?)
7 Você consegue encher de arpões a pele dele? Ou cravar fisgas de pesca na sua cabeça?
8 Shalt thou put thine hand upon him? have thou mind of the battle, and add thou no more to speak, (or remember the battle, and add thou no more to speak about it).
8 Ponha a mão sobre ele; você se lembrará da luta e nunca mais repetirá o gesto.”
9 Lo! his hope shall deceive him; and in the sight of all men he shall be cast down. (Behold! his hope shall deceive him; and he shall be thrown down in front of all the people.)
9 “Eis que a gente se engana na esperança que tem; não é fato que alguém cairá por terra só em vê-lo?
10 I not as cruel shall raise him; for who may against-stand my face? (Who would even dare raise up one who is so fierce? yea, who can stand before his face?)
10 Ninguém é tão ousado, que se atreva a despertá-lo.” “Quem então será capaz de se erguer diante de mim?
11 And who gave to me before, that I yield to him? (or And who ever gave anything to me, that I could give back to him?) All things, that be under heaven, be mine.
11 Quem primeiro deu algo a mim, para que eu tenha de retribuir-lhe? Pois o que está debaixo de todos os céus é meu.”
12 I shall not spare him for his mighty words, and made fair to beseech with. (And I shall not forget to speak of his limbs, his might, and his beautiful, \+em or his comely\+em*, shape.)
12 “Não me calarei a respeito das pernas do Leviatã, nem da sua grande força, nem da graça da sua compostura.
13 Who shall show the face of his clothing, and who shall enter into the midst of his mouth? (Who shall open his outer clothing, \+em or his hide\+em*? and who shall pass by the bridle of his mouth?)
13 Quem poderá tirar a capa do seu dorso? Ou lhe penetrará a dupla couraça?
14 Who shall open the gates of his cheer? fearedfulness is by the compass of his teeth. (Who shall open the gates of his face, \+em or his lips\+em*? for terror cometh from his teeth.)
14 Quem abriria as portas de sua boca? Pois em roda dos seus dentes está o terror.
15 His body is as molten shields of brass, and joined together with scales overlaying themselves. (His body \+em is\+em* like bronze shields, yea, scales joined together and overlaying each other.)
15 As fileiras de suas escamas são o seu orgulho, cada uma bem-encostada como por um selo que as ajusta.
16 One is joined to another; and soothly breathing goeth not through those (or and truly a breath cannot go between them).
16 A tal ponto uma se junta à outra, que entre elas não passa nem o ar.
17 One shall cleave to another, and those pieces holding together themselves shall not be parted. (One shall cleave to the other, and those \+em pieces\+em* holding themselves \+em together\+em* cannot be parted.)
17 Elas se ligam umas às outras, aderem entre si e não podem ser separadas.
18 His neesing is as (the) shining of fire, and his eyes be as (the) eyelids of the morrowtide. (His sneezing or His snorting \+em sendeth out\+em* shots of lightning, and his eyes \+em shine\+em* like the breaking of the day.)
18 Cada um dos seus espirros faz resplandecer a luz, e os seus olhos são como os raios do amanhecer.
19 Lights come forth of his mouth, as brands of fire, that be kindled. (Lightnings come forth from his mouth, like kindled firebrands.)
19 Da sua boca saem tochas; faíscas de fogo saltam dela.
20 Smoke cometh forth of his nostrils, as a boiling pot set upon the fire. (Smoke cometh forth from his nostrils, like a boiling pot put on the fire.)
20 Das suas narinas procede fumaça, como de uma panela fervente sobre juncos em chama.
21 His breath maketh coals to burn, and (a) flame goeth out of his mouth.
21 O sopro dele acende o carvão; da sua boca saem chamas.
22 Strength shall dwell in his neck, and neediness shall go (away from) before his face.
22 No seu pescoço reside a força; e diante dele salta o desespero.
23 The members of his flesh be cleaving together to themselves; God shall send floods against him, and those shall not be borne over to another place.
23 Suas partes carnudas são bem-pegadas entre si; todas fundidas nele e imóveis.
24 His heart shall be made (as) hard as a stone; and it shall be constrained (al)together as the anvil of a smith (or and it shall be firm and unyielding, like the anvil of a smith).
24 O coração dele é duro como uma pedra, firme como a pedra inferior de um moinho.
25 When he shall be taken away, angels shall dread; and they afeared shall be purged. (When he raiseth himself up, even the mighty shall be afraid; and they who be afraid shall be purged, \+em or shall be purified\+em*.)
25 Quando ele se levanta, os valentes tremem; quando ele irrompe, ficam como que fora de si.
26 When sword taketh him, it may not stand, neither spear, neither habergeon. (And when a sword trieth to take him, it shall not succeed, nor a spear, nor a dagger.)
26 Se o golpe de espada o alcança, isso não tem efeito algum, e o mesmo vale para a lança, o dardo ou a flecha.
27 For he shall areckon iron as chaff, and brass as rotten wood (or and bronze like rotten wood).
27 Para ele, o ferro é como palha, e o cobre, como pau podre.
28 A man archer shall not drive him away; [the] stones of a sling be turned into stubble to him.
28 As flechas não o fazem fugir; para ele, as pedras das fundas se transformam em palha.
29 He shall areckon an hammer as stubble; and he shall scorn a flourishing spear (or and he shall have scorn for the spear that is flourished, \+em or shaken\+em*, at him).
29 Os porretes são para ele como talos de capim; quando agitam a lança, ele dá risada.
30 The beams of the sun shall be under him; and he shall strew to himself gold as clay. (Sharp stones shall be under him; and he shall spread abroad pointed shards upon the clay.)
30 Debaixo do ventre ele tem escamas pontiagudas; arrasta-se sobre a lama, como um instrumento de debulhar.
31 He shall make the deep sea to boil as a pot; and he shall put it, as when ointments boil.
31 Leva as profundezas a ferver como panela; torna o mar como caldeira de unguento.
32 A path shall shine after him; he shall guess the great ocean as waxing eld. (He maketh a path to shine after him; and the great ocean as if growing old, \+em that is, white with foam\+em*.)
32 Deixa atrás de si um sulco luminoso, como se o abismo tivesse uma cabeleira branca.
33 No power there is on earth, that shall be comparisoned to him; which is made, that he should dread nothing. (There is no power on earth, that can be compared to him; nothing which is made, that he should fear.)
33 Na terra, não há ninguém como ele, pois foi feito para nunca ter medo.
34 He seeth all high thing[s]; he is king over all the sons of pride.
34 O Leviatã olha com desprezo tudo o que é alto; é rei sobre todos os orgulhosos.”
