1 For of the ministry that is made to holy men, it is to me of plenty to write to you. (And as for the service, or the aid, that is sent to the saints, or to God’s people, it is unnecessary for me to write to you.)
1 Com respeito ao auxílio a prestar aos irmãos, acho quase supérfluo continuar a escrever-vos.
2 For I know your [ready] will, for the which I have glory of you with (the) Macedonians, for also Achaia is ready from a year passed, and your love hath stirred full many.
2 Porquanto estou ciente de vossa boa vontade, que enalteço, para glória vossa, ante os macedônios, dizendo-lhes que a Acaia também está pronta desde o ano passado. O exemplo de vosso zelo tem estimulado a muitos.
3 And we have sent brethren, that this thing that we glory of you, be not voided in this part, that as I said, ye be ready. (And we have sent these brothers, so that our boasting about you in this matter, be not empty words, but as I said, so that ye be prepared.)
3 Eu, porém, vos enviei os nossos irmãos para que o louvor que dissemos a vosso respeito, neste particular, não se tornasse vão e para que, como tenho dito, estejais prevenidos.
4 Lest when (the) Macedonians come with me, and find you unready, we be shamed, that we say you not or that we saw you not, in this substance.
4 Eu temia que, se os macedônios fossem comigo e vós não estivésseis preparados, esta certeza redundasse para confusão nossa, para não dizer vossa.
5 Therefore I guessed (it) necessary to pray (the) brethren, that they come before to you, and make ready this promised blessing to be ready, so as blessing, and not as avarice, (or as a blessing, or as a gift, and not as an example of greed).
5 Por este motivo, julguei necessário rogar aos irmãos que nos precedessem junto de vós e preparassem em tempo a generosidade prometida. Assim, será verdadeiramente uma liberalidade, e não uma mesquinhez.
6 For I say this thing, he that soweth scarcely, shall also reap scarcely; and he that soweth in blessings, shall reap also of blessings.
6 Convém lembrar: aquele que semeia pouco, pouco ceifará. Aquele que semeia em profusão, em profusão ceifará.
7 Each man as he casted in his heart, not of heaviness, or of need; for God loveth a glad(ful) giver.
7 Dê cada um conforme o impulso do seu coração, sem tristeza nem constrangimento. Deus ama o que dá com alegria.
8 And God is mighty to make all grace abound in you, that ye in all things (for)evermore have all sufficience, and abound into all good work; (And God is powerful enough to give all necessary gifts in abundance to you, so that ye always have all sufficiency in everything, and can abound in all good works;)
8 Poderoso é Deus para cumular-vos com toda a espécie de benefícios, para que tendo sempre e em todas as coisas o necessário, vos sobre ainda muito para toda espécie de boas obras.
9 as it is written, He dealed abroad, he gave to poor men, his rightwiseness dwelleth [into] without end (or his righteousness remaineth forever and ever).
9 Como está escrito: Espalhou, deu aos pobres, a sua justiça subsiste para sempre {Sl 111,9}.
10 And he that ministereth seed to the sower (or And he who serveth up seed to the sower), shall give also bread to eat, and he shall multiply your seed, and make much the increasings of (the) fruits of your rightwiseness;
10 Aquele que dá a semente ao semeador e o pão para comer, vos dará rica sementeira e aumentará os frutos da vossa justiça.
11 that in all things ye made rich wax plenteous [or abound] into all simpleness, which worketh by us (the) doing of thankings to God. (so that in all things ye made rich grow plenteous, or abound, in all sincerity, which worketh in us the giving of thanks to God.)
11 Assim, enriquecidos em todas as coisas, podereis exercer toda espécie de generosidade que, por nosso intermédio, será ocasião de agradecer a Deus.
12 For the ministry (or the service) of this office not only filleth those things that fail to holy men, but also multiplieth many thankings to God,
12 Realmente, o serviço desta obra de caridade não só provê as necessidades dos irmãos, mas é também uma abundante fonte de ações de graças a Deus.
13 by the proving of this ministry, which glorify God in the obedience of your acknowledging in the gospel of Christ (or in the Gospel, or the Good News, of the Messiah), and in (the) simpleness (or the sincerity) of (the) communication into them and into all [others],
13 Pois, ao reconhecer a experimentada virtude que esta assistência revela da vossa parte, eles glorificam a Deus pela obediência que professais relativamente ao Evangelho de Cristo e pela generosidade de vossas esmolas em favor deles e em favor de todos.
14 and in the beseeching of them for you, that desire you for the excellent grace of God in you.
14 Além disso, eles oram por vós e vos dedicam a mais terna afeição em vista da eminente graça que Deus vos fez.
15 I do thankings to God of the gift of him, that may not be told (out). [I give thankings to God upon the unnarrable, \+sls (or unnarrative-able, or untellable)\+sls*, or that may not be told \+sls (out)\+sls*, gift of him.](I give thanks to God, for his gift, thanks that can never be sufficiently told out or described.)
