1 For of the ministry that is made to holy men, it is to me of plenty to write to you. (And as for the service, or the aid, that is sent to the saints, or to God’s people, it is unnecessary for me to write to you.)
1 Na verdade, quanto a esse serviço ao povo santo, não preciso lhes escrever.
2 For I know your [ready] will, for the which I have glory of you with (the) Macedonians, for also Achaia is ready from a year passed, and your love hath stirred full many.
2 Sei quanto estão ansiosos para ajudar e expressei às igrejas da Macedônia meu orgulho de que vocês, na Acaia, estão prontos para enviar uma oferta desde o ano passado. De fato, foi sua dedicação que incentivou muitos a também contribuir.
3 And we have sent brethren, that this thing that we glory of you, be not voided in this part, that as I said, ye be ready. (And we have sent these brothers, so that our boasting about you in this matter, be not empty words, but as I said, so that ye be prepared.)
3 Ainda assim, envio esses irmãos para me certificar de que vocês estão preparados, como tenho dito a eles. Não quero elogiar vocês sem razão.
4 Lest when (the) Macedonians come with me, and find you unready, we be shamed, that we say you not or that we saw you not, in this substance.
4 Que vexame seria para nós, e ainda mais para vocês, se alguns macedônios chegassem comigo e descobrissem que vocês não estão preparados, depois de tudo que eu disse a eles!
5 Therefore I guessed (it) necessary to pray (the) brethren, that they come before to you, and make ready this promised blessing to be ready, so as blessing, and not as avarice, (or as a blessing, or as a gift, and not as an example of greed).
5 Portanto, considerei apropriado enviar esses irmãos antes de mim. Eles cuidarão para que a oferta que vocês prometeram esteja pronta. Que seja, porém, uma oferta voluntária, e não entregue de má vontade.
6 For I say this thing, he that soweth scarcely, shall also reap scarcely; and he that soweth in blessings, shall reap also of blessings.
6 Lembrem-se: quem lança apenas algumas sementes obtém uma colheita pequena, mas quem semeia com fartura obtém uma colheita farta.
7 Each man as he casted in his heart, not of heaviness, or of need; for God loveth a glad(ful) giver.
7 Cada um deve decidir em seu coração quanto dar. Não contribuam com relutância ou por obrigação. “Pois Deus ama quem dá com alegria.”
8 And God is mighty to make all grace abound in you, that ye in all things (for)evermore have all sufficience, and abound into all good work; (And God is powerful enough to give all necessary gifts in abundance to you, so that ye always have all sufficiency in everything, and can abound in all good works;)
8 Deus é capaz de lhes conceder todo tipo de bênçãos, para que, em todo tempo, vocês tenham tudo de que precisam, e muito mais ainda, para repartir com outros.
9 as it is written, He dealed abroad, he gave to poor men, his rightwiseness dwelleth [into] without end (or his righteousness remaineth forever and ever).
9 Como dizem as Escrituras: “Compartilha generosamente com os necessitados; seus atos de justiça serão lembrados para sempre”.
10 And he that ministereth seed to the sower (or And he who serveth up seed to the sower), shall give also bread to eat, and he shall multiply your seed, and make much the increasings of (the) fruits of your rightwiseness;
10 Pois é Deus quem supre a semente para o que semeia e depois o pão para seu alimento. Da mesma forma, ele proverá e multiplicará sua semente e produzirá por meio de vocês muitos frutos de justiça.
11 that in all things ye made rich wax plenteous [or abound] into all simpleness, which worketh by us (the) doing of thankings to God. (so that in all things ye made rich grow plenteous, or abound, in all sincerity, which worketh in us the giving of thanks to God.)
11 Em tudo vocês serão enriquecidos a fim de que possam ser sempre generosos. E, quando levarmos sua oferta para aqueles que precisam dela, eles darão graças a Deus.
12 For the ministry (or the service) of this office not only filleth those things that fail to holy men, but also multiplieth many thankings to God,
12 Logo, duas coisas boas resultarão desse ministério de auxílio: as necessidades do povo santo serão supridas, e eles expressarão com alegria sua gratidão a Deus.
13 by the proving of this ministry, which glorify God in the obedience of your acknowledging in the gospel of Christ (or in the Gospel, or the Good News, of the Messiah), and in (the) simpleness (or the sincerity) of (the) communication into them and into all [others],
13 Como resultado do serviço de vocês, eles darão glória a Deus. Pois sua generosidade com eles e com todos os que creem mostrará que vocês são obedientes às boas-novas de Cristo.
14 and in the beseeching of them for you, that desire you for the excellent grace of God in you.
14 E eles orarão por vocês com profundo afeto, por causa da graça transbordante que Deus concedeu a vocês.
15 I do thankings to God of the gift of him, that may not be told (out). [I give thankings to God upon the unnarrable, \+sls (or unnarrative-able, or untellable)\+sls*, or that may not be told \+sls (out)\+sls*, gift of him.](I give thanks to God, for his gift, thanks that can never be sufficiently told out or described.)
15 Graças a Deus por essa dádiva tão maravilhosa que nem as palavras conseguem expressar!
