1 There is therefore|strong="G0686" now|strong="G3568" no|strong="G3762" condemnation|strong="G2631" to them which are|strong="G3588" in|strong="G1722" Christ|strong="G5547" Jesus|strong="G2424", who walk|strong="G4043" not|strong="G3361" after|strong="G2596" the flesh|strong="G4561", but|strong="G0235" after|strong="G2596" the Spirit|strong="G4151".
2 For|strong="G1063" the law|strong="G3551" of the Spirit|strong="G4151" of life|strong="G2222" in|strong="G1722" Christ|strong="G5547" Jesus|strong="G2424" hath made|strong="G1659" me|strong="G3165" free|strong="G1659" from|strong="G0575" the law|strong="G3551" of sin|strong="G0266" and|strong="G2532" death|strong="G2288".
3 For|strong="G1063" what|strong="G3588" the law|strong="G3551" could not do|strong="G0102", in|strong="G1722" that|strong="G3739" it was weak|strong="G0770" through|strong="G1223" the flesh|strong="G4561", God|strong="G2316" sending|strong="G3992" his own|strong="G1438" Son|strong="G5207" in|strong="G1722" the likeness|strong="G3667" of sinful|strong="G0266" flesh|strong="G4561", and|strong="G2532" for|strong="G4012" sin|strong="G0266", condemned|strong="G2632" sin|strong="G0266" in|strong="G1722" the flesh|strong="G4561":
4 That|strong="G2443" the righteousness|strong="G1345" of the law|strong="G3551" might be fulfilled|strong="G4137" in|strong="G1722" us|strong="G2254", who walk|strong="G4043" not|strong="G3361" after|strong="G2596" the flesh|strong="G4561", but|strong="G0235" after|strong="G2596" the Spirit|strong="G4151".
5 For|strong="G1063" they that are|strong="G5607" after|strong="G2596" the flesh|strong="G4561" do mind|strong="G5426" the things|strong="G3588" of the flesh|strong="G4561"; but|strong="G1161" they that are|strong="G3588" after|strong="G2596" the Spirit|strong="G4151" the things|strong="G3588" of the Spirit|strong="G4151".
6 For|strong="G1063" to be|strong="G5427" carnally|strong="G4561" minded|strong="G5427" is death|strong="G2288"; but|strong="G1161" to be|strong="G5427" spiritually|strong="G4151" minded|strong="G5427" is life|strong="G2222" and|strong="G2532" peace|strong="G1515".
7 Because|strong="G1360" the carnal|strong="G4561" mind|strong="G5427" is enmity|strong="G2189" against|strong="G1519" God|strong="G2316": for|strong="G1063" it is|strong="G5293" not|strong="G3756" subject|strong="G5293" to the law|strong="G3551" of God|strong="G2316", neither|strong="G3761" indeed|strong="G1063" can be|strong="G1410".
8 So then|strong="G1161" they that are|strong="G5607" in|strong="G1722" the flesh|strong="G4561" cannot|strong="G1410" please|strong="G0700" God|strong="G2316".
9 But|strong="G1161" ye|strong="G5210" are|strong="G2075" not|strong="G3756" in|strong="G1722" the flesh|strong="G4561", but|strong="G0235" in|strong="G1722" the Spirit|strong="G4151", if so be that|strong="G1512" the Spirit|strong="G4151" of God|strong="G2316" dwell|strong="G3611" in|strong="G1722" you|strong="G5213". Now|strong="G1161" if|strong="G1487" any man|strong="G5100" have|strong="G2192" not|strong="G3756" the Spirit|strong="G4151" of Christ|strong="G5547", he|strong="G3778" is|strong="G2076" none|strong="G3756" of his|strong="G0846".
10 And|strong="G1161" if|strong="G1487" Christ|strong="G5547" be in|strong="G1722" you|strong="G5213", the body|strong="G4983" is dead|strong="G3498" because of|strong="G1223" sin|strong="G0266"; but|strong="G1161" the Spirit|strong="G4151" is life|strong="G2222" because of|strong="G1223" righteousness|strong="G1343".
11 But|strong="G1161" if|strong="G1487" the Spirit|strong="G4151" of him that raised up|strong="G1453" Jesus|strong="G2424" from|strong="G1537" the dead|strong="G3498" dwell|strong="G3611" in|strong="G1722" you|strong="G5213", he that raised up|strong="G1453" Christ|strong="G5547" from|strong="G1537" the dead|strong="G3498" shall|strong="G2227" also|strong="G2532" quicken|strong="G2227" your|strong="G5216" mortal|strong="G2349" bodies|strong="G4983" by|strong="G1223" his|strong="G0846" Spirit|strong="G4151" that dwelleth|strong="G1774" in|strong="G1722" you|strong="G5213".
12 Therefore|strong="G3767", brethren|strong="G0080", we are|strong="G2070" debtors|strong="G3781", not|strong="G3756" to the flesh|strong="G4561", to live|strong="G2198" after|strong="G2596" the flesh|strong="G4561".
13 For|strong="G1063" if|strong="G1487" ye live|strong="G2198" after|strong="G2596" the flesh|strong="G4561", ye shall|strong="G3195" die|strong="G0599": but|strong="G1161" if|strong="G1487" ye|strong="G2289" through the Spirit|strong="G4151" do mortify|strong="G2289" the deeds|strong="G4234" of the body|strong="G4983", ye shall live|strong="G2198".
14 For|strong="G1063" as many as|strong="G3745" are led|strong="G0071" by the Spirit|strong="G4151" of God|strong="G2316", they|strong="G3778" are|strong="G1526" the sons|strong="G5207" of God|strong="G2316".
15 For|strong="G1063" ye have|strong="G2983" not|strong="G3756" received|strong="G2983" the spirit|strong="G4151" of bondage|strong="G1397" again|strong="G3825" to|strong="G1519" fear|strong="G5401"; but|strong="G0235" ye have received|strong="G2983" the Spirit|strong="G4151" of adoption|strong="G5206", whereby|strong="G3739" we cry|strong="G2896", Abba|strong="G0005", Father|strong="G3962".
16 The Spirit|strong="G4151" itself|strong="G0846" beareth witness with|strong="G4828" our|strong="G2257" spirit|strong="G4151", that|strong="G3754" we are|strong="G2070" the children|strong="G5043" of God|strong="G2316":
17 And|strong="G1161" if|strong="G1487" children|strong="G5043", then|strong="G2532" heirs|strong="G2818"; heirs|strong="G2818" of God|strong="G2316", and|strong="G1161" joint-heirs|strong="G4789" with Christ|strong="G5547"; if so be that|strong="G1512" we suffer with|strong="G4841" him, that|strong="G2443" we may be|strong="G4888" also|strong="G2532" glorified together|strong="G4888".
18 For|strong="G1063" I reckon|strong="G3049" that|strong="G3754" the sufferings|strong="G3804" of|strong="G2540" this present|strong="G3568" time|strong="G2540" are not|strong="G3756" worthy|strong="G0514" to be compared with|strong="G4314" the glory|strong="G1391" which shall|strong="G3195" be revealed|strong="G0601" in|strong="G1519" us|strong="G2248".
19 For|strong="G1063" the earnest expectation|strong="G0603" of the creature|strong="G2937" waiteth for|strong="G0553" the manifestation|strong="G0602" of the sons|strong="G5207" of God|strong="G2316".
20 For|strong="G1063" the creature|strong="G2937" was made subject|strong="G5293" to vanity|strong="G3153", not|strong="G3756" willingly|strong="G1635", but|strong="G0235" by reason of|strong="G1223" him who hath subjected|strong="G5293" the same in|strong="G1909" hope|strong="G1680",
21 Because|strong="G3754" the creature|strong="G2937" itself|strong="G0846" also|strong="G2532" shall be delivered|strong="G1659" from|strong="G0575" the bondage|strong="G1397" of corruption|strong="G5356" into|strong="G1519" the glorious|strong="G1391" liberty|strong="G1657" of the children|strong="G5043" of God|strong="G2316".
22 For|strong="G1063" we know|strong="G1492" that|strong="G3754" the whole|strong="G3956" creation|strong="G2937" groaneth|strong="G4959" and|strong="G2532" travaileth in pain together|strong="G4944" until|strong="G0891" now|strong="G3568".
23 And|strong="G1161" not|strong="G3756" only|strong="G3440" they, but|strong="G0235" ourselves|strong="G0846" also|strong="G2532", which have|strong="G2192" the firstfruits|strong="G0536" of the Spirit|strong="G4151", even|strong="G2532" we|strong="G2249" ourselves|strong="G0846" groan|strong="G4727" within|strong="G1722" ourselves|strong="G1438", waiting for|strong="G0553" the adoption|strong="G5206", to wit, the redemption|strong="G0629" of|strong="G4983" our|strong="G2257" body|strong="G4983".
24 For|strong="G1063" we are saved|strong="G4982" by hope|strong="G1680": but|strong="G1161" hope|strong="G1680" that is seen|strong="G0991" is|strong="G2076" not|strong="G3756" hope|strong="G1680": for|strong="G1063" what|strong="G3739" a man|strong="G5100" seeth|strong="G0991", why|strong="G5101" doth he|strong="G1679" yet|strong="G2532" hope for|strong="G1679"?
25 But|strong="G1161" if|strong="G1487" we hope for|strong="G1679" that|strong="G3739" we see|strong="G0991" not|strong="G3756", then do we|strong="G0553" with|strong="G1223" patience|strong="G5281" wait for|strong="G0553" it.
26 Likewise|strong="G5615" the Spirit|strong="G4151" also|strong="G2532" helpeth|strong="G4878" our|strong="G2257" infirmities|strong="G0769": for|strong="G1063" we know|strong="G1492" not|strong="G3756" what|strong="G5101" we should pray for|strong="G4336" as|strong="G2526" we ought|strong="G1163": but|strong="G0235" the Spirit|strong="G4151" itself|strong="G0846" maketh intercession|strong="G5241" for|strong="G5228" us|strong="G2257" with groanings|strong="G4726" which cannot be uttered|strong="G0215".
27 And|strong="G1161" he that searcheth|strong="G2045" the hearts|strong="G2588" knoweth|strong="G1492" what|strong="G5101" is the mind|strong="G5427" of the Spirit|strong="G4151", because|strong="G3754" he maketh intercession|strong="G1793" for|strong="G5228" the saints|strong="G0040" according to|strong="G2596" the will of God|strong="G2316".
28 And|strong="G1161" we know|strong="G1492" that|strong="G3754" all things|strong="G3956" work together|strong="G4903" for|strong="G1519" good|strong="G0018" to them that love|strong="G0025" God|strong="G2316", to them who are|strong="G5607" the called|strong="G2822" according to|strong="G2596" his purpose|strong="G4286".
29 For|strong="G3754" whom|strong="G3739" he did foreknow|strong="G4267", he|strong="G4309" also|strong="G2532" did predestinate|strong="G4309" to be conformed to|strong="G4832" the image|strong="G1504" of|strong="G5207" his|strong="G0846" Son|strong="G5207", that|strong="G1519" he|strong="G0846" might be|strong="G1511" the firstborn|strong="G4416" among|strong="G1722" many|strong="G4183" brethren|strong="G0080".
30 Moreover|strong="G1161" whom|strong="G3739" he did predestinate|strong="G4309", them|strong="G5128" he also|strong="G2532" called|strong="G2564": and|strong="G2532" whom|strong="G3739" he called|strong="G2564", them|strong="G5128" he|strong="G1344" also|strong="G2532" justified|strong="G1344": and|strong="G1161" whom|strong="G3739" he justified|strong="G1344", them|strong="G5128" he|strong="G1392" also|strong="G2532" glorified|strong="G1392".
31 What|strong="G5101" shall we|strong="G2046" then|strong="G3767" say|strong="G2046" to|strong="G4314" these things|strong="G5023"? If|strong="G1487" God|strong="G2316" be for|strong="G5228" us|strong="G2257", who|strong="G5101" can be against|strong="G2596" us|strong="G2257"?
32 He that|strong="G3739" spared|strong="G5339" not|strong="G3756" his own|strong="G2398" Son|strong="G5207", but|strong="G0235" delivered|strong="G3860" him|strong="G0846" up|strong="G3860" for|strong="G5228" us|strong="G2257" all|strong="G3956", how|strong="G4459" shall he|strong="G5483" not|strong="G3780" with|strong="G4862" him|strong="G0846" also|strong="G2532" freely give|strong="G5483" us|strong="G2254" all things|strong="G3956"?
33 Who|strong="G5101" shall lay any thing to the charge|strong="G1458" of|strong="G1588" God’s|strong="G2316" elect|strong="G1588"? It is God|strong="G2316" that justifieth|strong="G1344".
34 Who|strong="G5101" is he that condemneth|strong="G2632"? It is Christ|strong="G5547" that died|strong="G0599", yea|strong="G1161" rather|strong="G3123", that is risen|strong="G1453" again|strong="G2532", who|strong="G3739" is|strong="G2076" even|strong="G2532" at|strong="G1722" the right hand|strong="G1188" of God|strong="G2316", who|strong="G3739" also|strong="G2532" maketh intercession|strong="G1793" for|strong="G5228" us|strong="G2257".
35 Who|strong="G5101" shall separate|strong="G5563" us|strong="G2248" from|strong="G0575" the love|strong="G0026" of Christ|strong="G5547"? shall tribulation|strong="G2347", or|strong="G2228" distress|strong="G4730", or|strong="G2228" persecution|strong="G1375", or|strong="G2228" famine|strong="G3042", or|strong="G2228" nakedness|strong="G1132", or|strong="G2228" peril|strong="G2794", or|strong="G2228" sword|strong="G3162"?
36 As|strong="G2531" it is written|strong="G1125", For|strong="G3754" thy|strong="G4675" sake|strong="G1752" we are killed|strong="G2289" all|strong="G3650" the day long|strong="G2250"; we are accounted|strong="G3049" as|strong="G5613" sheep|strong="G4263" for the slaughter|strong="G4967".
37 Nay|strong="G0235", in|strong="G1722" all|strong="G3956" these things|strong="G5125" we are more than conquerors|strong="G5245" through|strong="G1223" him that loved|strong="G0025" us|strong="G2248".
38 For|strong="G1063" I am persuaded|strong="G3982", that|strong="G3754" neither|strong="G3777" death|strong="G2288", nor|strong="G3777" life|strong="G2222", nor|strong="G3777" angels|strong="G0032", nor|strong="G3777" principalities|strong="G0746", nor|strong="G3777" powers|strong="G1411", nor|strong="G3777" things present|strong="G1764", nor|strong="G3777" things to come|strong="G3195",
39 Nor|strong="G3777" height|strong="G5313", nor|strong="G3777" depth|strong="G0899", nor|strong="G3777" any|strong="G5100" other|strong="G2087" creature|strong="G2937", shall be able|strong="G1410" to separate|strong="G5563" us|strong="G2248" from|strong="G0575" the love|strong="G0026" of God|strong="G2316", which is|strong="G3588" in|strong="G1722" Christ|strong="G5547" Jesus|strong="G2424" our|strong="G2257" Lord|strong="G2962".
