Juízes 19

King James (Authorized) Version (ENG-KJV2006)

And it came to pass in those days|strong="H3117", when there was no king|strong="H4428" in Israel|strong="H3478", that there was a certain|strong="H0376" Levite|strong="H3881" sojourning|strong="H1481" on the side|strong="H3411" of mount|strong="H2022" Ephraim|strong="H0669", who took|strong="H3947" to him a concubine|strong="H0802" out of Beth-lehem-judah|strong="H1035".

And his concubine|strong="H6370" played the whore|strong="H2181" against him, and went away|strong="H3212" from him unto her father’s|strong="H0001" house|strong="H1004" to Beth-lehem-judah|strong="H1035", and was there four|strong="H0702" whole months|strong="H2320".

And her husband|strong="H0376" arose|strong="H6965", and went|strong="H3212" after|strong="H0310" her, to speak|strong="H1696" friendly|strong="H3820" unto her, and to bring her again|strong="H7725", having his servant|strong="H5288" with him, and a couple|strong="H6776" of asses|strong="H2543": and she brought|strong="H0935" him into her father’s|strong="H0001" house|strong="H1004": and when the father|strong="H0001" of the damsel|strong="H5291" saw|strong="H7200" him, he rejoiced|strong="H8055" to meet|strong="H7125" him.

And his father in law|strong="H2859", the damsel’s|strong="H5291" father|strong="H0001", retained|strong="H2388" him; and he abode|strong="H3427" with him three|strong="H7969" days|strong="H3117": so they did eat|strong="H0398" and drink|strong="H8354", and lodged|strong="H3885" there.

And it came to pass on the fourth|strong="H7243" day|strong="H3117", when they arose early|strong="H7925" in the morning|strong="H1242", that he rose up|strong="H6965" to depart|strong="H3212": and the damsel’s|strong="H5291" father|strong="H0001" said|strong="H0559" unto his son in law|strong="H2860", Comfort|strong="H5582" thine heart|strong="H3820" with a morsel|strong="H6595" of bread|strong="H3899", and afterward|strong="H0310" go your way|strong="H3212".

And they sat down|strong="H3427", and did eat|strong="H0398" and drink|strong="H8354" both|strong="H8147" of them together|strong="H3162": for the damsel’s|strong="H5291" father|strong="H0001" had said|strong="H0559" unto the man|strong="H0376", Be content|strong="H2974", I pray thee, and tarry all night|strong="H3885", and let thine heart|strong="H3820" be merry|strong="H3190".

And when the man|strong="H0376" rose up|strong="H6965" to depart|strong="H3212", his father in law|strong="H2859" urged|strong="H6484" him: therefore he lodged|strong="H3885" there again|strong="H7725".

And he arose early|strong="H7925" in the morning|strong="H1242" on the fifth|strong="H2549" day|strong="H3117" to depart|strong="H3212": and the damsel’s|strong="H5291" father|strong="H0001" said|strong="H0559", Comfort|strong="H5582" thine heart|strong="H3824", I pray thee. And they tarried|strong="H4102" until afternoon|strong="H3117", and they did eat|strong="H0398" both|strong="H8147" of them.

And when the man|strong="H0376" rose up|strong="H6965" to depart|strong="H3212", he, and his concubine|strong="H6370", and his servant|strong="H5288", his father in law|strong="H2859", the damsel’s|strong="H5291" father|strong="H0001", said|strong="H0559" unto him, Behold, now the day|strong="H3117" draweth|strong="H7503" toward evening|strong="H6150", I pray you tarry all night|strong="H3885": behold, the day|strong="H3117" groweth to an end|strong="H2583", lodge|strong="H3885" here, that thine heart|strong="H3824" may be merry|strong="H3190"; and to morrow|strong="H4279" get you early|strong="H7925" on your way|strong="H1870", that thou mayest go|strong="H1980" home|strong="H0168".

But the man|strong="H0376" would|strong="H0014" not tarry that night|strong="H3885", but he rose up|strong="H6965" and departed|strong="H3212", and came|strong="H0935" over against|strong="H5227" Jebus|strong="H2982", which is Jerusalem|strong="H3389"; and there were with him two|strong="H6776" asses|strong="H2543" saddled|strong="H2280", his concubine|strong="H6370" also was with him.

And when they were by Jebus|strong="H2982", the day|strong="H3117" was far|strong="H3966" spent|strong="H7286"; and the servant|strong="H5288" said|strong="H0559" unto his master|strong="H0113", Come|strong="H3212", I pray thee, and let us turn in|strong="H5493" into this city|strong="H5892" of the Jebusites|strong="H2983", and lodge|strong="H3885" in it.

And his master|strong="H0113" said|strong="H0559" unto him, We will not turn aside|strong="H5493" hither into the city|strong="H5892" of a stranger|strong="H5237", that is not of the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478"; we will pass over|strong="H5674" to Gibeah|strong="H1390".

And he said|strong="H0559" unto his servant|strong="H5288", Come|strong="H3212", and let us draw near|strong="H7126" to one|strong="H0259" of these places|strong="H4725" to lodge all night|strong="H3885", in Gibeah|strong="H1390", or in Ramah|strong="H7414".

And they passed on|strong="H5674" and went their way|strong="H3212"; and the sun|strong="H8121" went down|strong="H0935" upon them when they were by|strong="H0681" Gibeah|strong="H1390", which belongeth to Benjamin|strong="H1144".

And they turned aside|strong="H5493" thither, to go in|strong="H0935" and to lodge|strong="H3885" in Gibeah|strong="H1390": and when he went in|strong="H0935", he sat him down|strong="H3427" in a street|strong="H7339" of the city|strong="H5892": for there was no man|strong="H0376" that took|strong="H0622" them into his house|strong="H1004" to lodging|strong="H3885".

And, behold, there came|strong="H0935" an old|strong="H2205" man|strong="H0376" from his work|strong="H4639" out of the field|strong="H7704" at even|strong="H6153", which was also|strong="H0376" of mount|strong="H2022" Ephraim|strong="H0669"; and he sojourned|strong="H1481" in Gibeah|strong="H1390": but the men|strong="H0582" of the place|strong="H4725" were Benjamites|strong="H1145".

And when he had lifted up|strong="H5375" his eyes|strong="H5869", he saw|strong="H7200" a wayfaring|strong="H0732" man|strong="H0376" in the street|strong="H7339" of the city|strong="H5892": and the old|strong="H2205" man|strong="H0376" said|strong="H0559", Whither goest|strong="H3212" thou? and whence|strong="H0370" comest|strong="H0935" thou?

And he said|strong="H0559" unto him, We are passing|strong="H5674" from Beth-lehem-judah|strong="H1035" toward the side|strong="H3411" of mount|strong="H2022" Ephraim|strong="H0669"; from thence am I: and I went|strong="H3212" to Beth-lehem-judah|strong="H1035", but I am now going|strong="H1980" to the house|strong="H1004" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*; and there is no man|strong="H0376" that receiveth|strong="H0622" me to house|strong="H1004".

Yet there is|strong="H3426" both straw|strong="H8401" and provender|strong="H4554" for our asses|strong="H2543"; and there is bread|strong="H3899" and wine|strong="H3196" also for me, and for thy handmaid|strong="H0519", and for the young man|strong="H5288" which is with thy servants|strong="H5650": there is no want|strong="H4270" of any thing|strong="H1697".

And the old|strong="H2205" man|strong="H0376" said|strong="H0559", Peace|strong="H7965" be with thee; howsoever|strong="H7535" let all thy wants|strong="H4270" lie upon me; only lodge|strong="H3885" not in the street|strong="H7339".

So he brought|strong="H0935" him into his house|strong="H1004", and gave provender|strong="H1101" unto the asses|strong="H2543": and they washed|strong="H7364" their feet|strong="H7272", and did eat|strong="H0398" and drink|strong="H8354".

Now as they were making their hearts|strong="H3820" merry|strong="H3190", behold, the men|strong="H0582" of the city|strong="H5892", certain|strong="H0582" sons|strong="H1121" of Belial|strong="H1100", beset|strong="H5437" the house|strong="H1004" round about|strong="H5437", and beat|strong="H1849" at the door|strong="H1817", and spake|strong="H0559" to the master|strong="H1167" of the house|strong="H1004", the old|strong="H2205" man|strong="H0376", saying|strong="H0559", Bring forth|strong="H3318" the man|strong="H0376" that came|strong="H0935" into thine house|strong="H1004", that we may know|strong="H3045" him.

And the man|strong="H0376", the master|strong="H1167" of the house|strong="H1004", went out|strong="H3318" unto them, and said|strong="H0559" unto them, Nay|strong="H0408", my brethren|strong="H0251", nay, I pray you, do not so wickedly|strong="H7489"; seeing|strong="H0310" that this man|strong="H0376" is come|strong="H0935" into mine house|strong="H1004", do|strong="H6213" not this folly|strong="H5039".

Behold, here is my daughter|strong="H1323" a maiden|strong="H1330", and his concubine|strong="H6370"; them I will bring out|strong="H3318" now, and humble|strong="H6031" ye them, and do|strong="H6213" with them what seemeth|strong="H5869" good|strong="H2896" unto you: but unto this man|strong="H0376" do|strong="H6213" not so|strong="H2063" vile|strong="H5039" a thing|strong="H1697".

But the men|strong="H0582" would|strong="H0014" not hearken|strong="H8085" to him: so the man|strong="H0376" took|strong="H2388" his concubine|strong="H6370", and brought|strong="H3318" her forth|strong="H2351" unto them; and they knew|strong="H3045" her, and abused|strong="H5953" her all the night|strong="H3915" until the morning|strong="H1242": and when the day|strong="H7837" began to spring|strong="H5927", they let her go|strong="H7971".

Then came|strong="H0935" the woman|strong="H0802" in the dawning|strong="H6437" of the day|strong="H1242", and fell down|strong="H5307" at the door|strong="H6607" of the man’s|strong="H0376" house|strong="H1004" where her lord|strong="H0113" was, till it was light|strong="H0216".

And her lord|strong="H0113" rose up|strong="H6965" in the morning|strong="H1242", and opened|strong="H6605" the doors|strong="H1817" of the house|strong="H1004", and went out|strong="H3318" to go|strong="H3212" his way|strong="H1870": and, behold, the woman|strong="H0802" his concubine|strong="H6370" was fallen down|strong="H5307" at the door|strong="H6607" of the house|strong="H1004", and her hands|strong="H3027" were upon the threshold|strong="H5592".

And he said|strong="H0559" unto her, Up|strong="H6965", and let us be going|strong="H3212". But none answered|strong="H6030". Then the man|strong="H0376" took|strong="H3947" her up upon an ass|strong="H2543", and the man|strong="H0376" rose up|strong="H6965", and gat|strong="H3212" him unto his place|strong="H4725".

And when he was come|strong="H0935" into his house|strong="H1004", he took|strong="H3947" a knife|strong="H3979", and laid hold|strong="H2388" on his concubine|strong="H6370", and divided|strong="H5408" her, together with her bones|strong="H6106", into twelve|strong="H8147" pieces|strong="H5409", and sent|strong="H7971" her into all the coasts|strong="H1366" of Israel|strong="H3478".

And it was so|strong="H1961", that all that saw|strong="H7200" it said|strong="H0559", There was no such deed|strong="H2063" done nor seen|strong="H7200" from the day|strong="H3117" that the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478" came up|strong="H5927" out of the land|strong="H0776" of Egypt|strong="H4714" unto this day|strong="H3117": consider|strong="H7760" of it, take advice|strong="H5779", and speak|strong="H1696" your minds.
