Juízes 1

King James (Authorized) Version (ENG-KJV2006)

Now after|strong="H0310" the death|strong="H4194" of Joshua|strong="H3091" it came to pass, that the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478" asked|strong="H7592" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, saying|strong="H0559", Who shall go up|strong="H5927" for us against the Canaanites|strong="H3669" first|strong="H8462", to fight|strong="H3898" against them?

And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* said|strong="H0559", Judah|strong="H3063" shall go up|strong="H5927": behold, I have delivered|strong="H5414" the land|strong="H0776" into his hand|strong="H3027".

And Judah|strong="H3063" said|strong="H0559" unto Simeon|strong="H8095" his brother|strong="H0251", Come up|strong="H5927" with me into my lot|strong="H1486", that we may fight|strong="H3898" against the Canaanites|strong="H3669"; and I likewise will go|strong="H1980" with thee into thy lot|strong="H1486". So Simeon|strong="H8095" went|strong="H3212" with him.

And Judah|strong="H3063" went up|strong="H5927"; and the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* delivered|strong="H5414" the Canaanites|strong="H3669" and the Perizzites|strong="H6522" into their hand|strong="H3027": and they slew|strong="H5221" of them in Bezek|strong="H0966" ten|strong="H6235" thousand|strong="H0505" men|strong="H0376".

And they found|strong="H4672" Adoni-bezek|strong="H0137" in Bezek|strong="H0966": and they fought|strong="H3898" against him, and they slew|strong="H5221" the Canaanites|strong="H3669" and the Perizzites|strong="H6522".

But Adoni-bezek|strong="H0137" fled|strong="H5127"; and they pursued|strong="H7291" after|strong="H0310" him, and caught|strong="H0270" him, and cut off|strong="H7112" his thumbs|strong="H0931" and his great toes|strong="H7272".

And Adoni-bezek|strong="H0137" said|strong="H0559", Threescore and ten|strong="H7657" kings|strong="H4428", having their thumbs|strong="H0931" and their great toes|strong="H7272" cut off|strong="H7112", gathered|strong="H3950" their meat under my table|strong="H7979": as I have done|strong="H6213", so God|strong="H0430" hath requited|strong="H7999" me. And they brought|strong="H0935" him to Jerusalem|strong="H3389", and there he died|strong="H4191".

Now the children|strong="H1121" of Judah|strong="H3063" had fought|strong="H3898" against Jerusalem|strong="H3389", and had taken|strong="H3920" it, and smitten|strong="H5221" it with the edge|strong="H6310" of the sword|strong="H2719", and set|strong="H7971" the city|strong="H5892" on fire|strong="H0784".

And afterward|strong="H0310" the children|strong="H1121" of Judah|strong="H3063" went down|strong="H3381" to fight|strong="H3898" against the Canaanites|strong="H3669", that dwelt|strong="H3427" in the mountain|strong="H2022", and in the south|strong="H5045", and in the valley|strong="H8219".

And Judah|strong="H3063" went|strong="H3212" against the Canaanites|strong="H3669" that dwelt|strong="H3427" in Hebron|strong="H2275": (now the name|strong="H8034" of Hebron|strong="H2275" before|strong="H6440" was Kirjath-arba|strong="H7153":) and they slew|strong="H5221" Sheshai|strong="H8344", and Ahiman|strong="H0289", and Talmai|strong="H8526".

And from thence he went|strong="H3212" against the inhabitants|strong="H3427" of Debir|strong="H1688": and the name|strong="H8034" of Debir|strong="H1688" before|strong="H6440" was Kirjath-sepher|strong="H7158":

And Caleb|strong="H3612" said|strong="H0559", He that smiteth|strong="H5221" Kirjath-sepher|strong="H7158", and taketh|strong="H3920" it, to him will I give|strong="H5414" Achsah|strong="H5915" my daughter|strong="H1323" to wife|strong="H0802".

And Othniel|strong="H6274" the son|strong="H1121" of Kenaz|strong="H7073", Caleb’s|strong="H3612" younger|strong="H6996" brother|strong="H0251", took|strong="H3920" it: and he gave|strong="H5414" him Achsah|strong="H5915" his daughter|strong="H1323" to wife|strong="H0802".

And it came to pass, when she came|strong="H0935" to him, that she moved|strong="H5496" him to ask|strong="H7592" of her father|strong="H0001" a field|strong="H7704": and she lighted|strong="H6795" from off her ass|strong="H2543"; and Caleb|strong="H3612" said|strong="H0559" unto her, What wilt thou?

And she said|strong="H0559" unto him, Give|strong="H3051" me a blessing|strong="H1293": for thou hast given|strong="H5414" me a south|strong="H5045" land|strong="H0776"; give|strong="H5414" me also springs|strong="H1543" of water|strong="H4325". And Caleb|strong="H3612" gave|strong="H5414" her the upper|strong="H5942" springs|strong="H1543" and the nether|strong="H8482" springs|strong="H1543".

And the children|strong="H1121" of the Kenite|strong="H7017", Moses’|strong="H4872" father in law|strong="H2859", went up|strong="H5927" out of the city|strong="H5892" of palm trees|strong="H8558" with the children|strong="H1121" of Judah|strong="H3063" into the wilderness|strong="H4057" of Judah|strong="H3063", which lieth in the south|strong="H5045" of Arad|strong="H6166"; and they went|strong="H3212" and dwelt|strong="H3427" among|strong="H0854" the people|strong="H5971".

And Judah|strong="H3063" went|strong="H3212" with Simeon|strong="H8095" his brother|strong="H0251", and they slew|strong="H5221" the Canaanites|strong="H3669" that inhabited|strong="H3427" Zephath|strong="H6857", and utterly destroyed|strong="H2763" it. And the name|strong="H8034" of the city|strong="H5892" was called|strong="H7121" Hormah|strong="H2767".

Also Judah|strong="H3063" took|strong="H3920" Gaza|strong="H5804" with the coast|strong="H1366" thereof, and Askelon|strong="H0831" with the coast|strong="H1366" thereof, and Ekron|strong="H6138" with the coast|strong="H1366" thereof.

And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* was with Judah|strong="H3063"; and he drave out|strong="H3423" the inhabitants of the mountain|strong="H2022"; but could not|strong="H3808" drive out|strong="H3423" the inhabitants|strong="H3427" of the valley|strong="H6010", because they had chariots|strong="H7393" of iron|strong="H1270".

And they gave|strong="H5414" Hebron|strong="H2275" unto Caleb|strong="H3612", as Moses|strong="H4872" said|strong="H1696": and he expelled|strong="H3423" thence the three|strong="H7969" sons|strong="H1121" of Anak|strong="H6061".

And the children|strong="H1121" of Benjamin|strong="H1144" did not drive out|strong="H3423" the Jebusites|strong="H2983" that inhabited|strong="H3427" Jerusalem|strong="H3389"; but the Jebusites|strong="H2983" dwell|strong="H3427" with the children|strong="H1121" of Benjamin|strong="H1144" in Jerusalem|strong="H3389" unto this day|strong="H3117".

And the house|strong="H1004" of Joseph|strong="H3130", they also went up|strong="H5927" against Beth-el|strong="H1008": and the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* was with them.

And the house|strong="H1004" of Joseph|strong="H3130" sent to descry|strong="H8446" Beth-el|strong="H1008". (Now the name|strong="H8034" of the city|strong="H5892" before|strong="H6440" was Luz|strong="H3870".)

And the spies|strong="H8104" saw|strong="H7200" a man|strong="H0376" come forth|strong="H3318" out of the city|strong="H5892", and they said|strong="H0559" unto him, Shew|strong="H7200" us, we pray thee, the entrance|strong="H3996" into the city|strong="H5892", and we will shew|strong="H6213" thee mercy|strong="H2617".

And when he shewed|strong="H7200" them the entrance|strong="H3996" into the city|strong="H5892", they smote|strong="H5221" the city|strong="H5892" with the edge|strong="H6310" of the sword|strong="H2719"; but they let go|strong="H7971" the man|strong="H0376" and all his family|strong="H4940".

And the man|strong="H0376" went|strong="H3212" into the land|strong="H0776" of the Hittites|strong="H2850", and built|strong="H1129" a city|strong="H5892", and called|strong="H7121" the name|strong="H8034" thereof Luz|strong="H3870": which is the name|strong="H8034" thereof unto this day|strong="H3117".

Neither did Manasseh|strong="H4519" drive out|strong="H3423" the inhabitants of Beth-shean|strong="H1052" and her towns|strong="H1323", nor Taanach|strong="H8590" and her towns|strong="H1323", nor the inhabitants|strong="H3427" of Dor|strong="H1756" and her towns|strong="H1323", nor the inhabitants|strong="H3427" of Ibleam|strong="H2991" and her towns|strong="H1323", nor the inhabitants|strong="H3427" of Megiddo|strong="H4023" and her towns|strong="H1323": but the Canaanites|strong="H3669" would|strong="H2974" dwell|strong="H3427" in that land|strong="H0776".

And it came to pass, when Israel|strong="H3478" was strong|strong="H2388", that they put|strong="H7760" the Canaanites|strong="H3669" to tribute|strong="H4522", and did not utterly|strong="H3423" drive them out|strong="H3423".

Neither did Ephraim|strong="H0669" drive out|strong="H3423" the Canaanites|strong="H3669" that dwelt|strong="H3427" in Gezer|strong="H1507"; but the Canaanites|strong="H3669" dwelt|strong="H3427" in Gezer|strong="H1507" among|strong="H7130" them.

Neither did Zebulun|strong="H2074" drive out|strong="H3423" the inhabitants|strong="H3427" of Kitron|strong="H7003", nor the inhabitants|strong="H3427" of Nahalol|strong="H5096"; but the Canaanites|strong="H3669" dwelt|strong="H3427" among|strong="H7130" them, and became tributaries|strong="H4522".

Neither did Asher|strong="H0836" drive out|strong="H3423" the inhabitants|strong="H3427" of Accho|strong="H5910", nor the inhabitants|strong="H3427" of Zidon|strong="H6721", nor of Ahlab|strong="H0303", nor of Achzib|strong="H0392", nor of Helbah|strong="H2462", nor of Aphik|strong="H0663", nor of Rehob|strong="H7340":

But the Asherites|strong="H0843" dwelt|strong="H3427" among|strong="H7130" the Canaanites|strong="H3669", the inhabitants|strong="H3427" of the land|strong="H0776": for they did not drive them out|strong="H3423".

Neither did Naphtali|strong="H5321" drive out|strong="H3423" the inhabitants|strong="H3427" of Beth-shemesh|strong="H1053", nor the inhabitants|strong="H3427" of Beth-anath|strong="H1043"; but he dwelt|strong="H3427" among|strong="H7130" the Canaanites|strong="H3669", the inhabitants|strong="H3427" of the land|strong="H0776": nevertheless the inhabitants|strong="H3427" of Beth-shemesh|strong="H1053" and of Beth-anath|strong="H1043" became tributaries|strong="H4522" unto them.

And the Amorites|strong="H0567" forced|strong="H3905" the children|strong="H1121" of Dan|strong="H1835" into the mountain|strong="H2022": for they would not suffer|strong="H5414" them to come down|strong="H3381" to the valley|strong="H6010":

But the Amorites|strong="H0567" would|strong="H2974" dwell|strong="H3427" in mount|strong="H2022" Heres|strong="H2776" in Aijalon|strong="H0357", and in Shaalbim|strong="H8169": yet the hand|strong="H3027" of the house|strong="H1004" of Joseph|strong="H3130" prevailed|strong="H3513", so that they became tributaries|strong="H4522".

And the coast|strong="H1366" of the Amorites|strong="H0567" was from the going up|strong="H4608" to Akrabbim|strong="H4610", from the rock|strong="H5553", and upward|strong="H4605".
