1 Thus saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* unto me, Go|strong="H1980" and get|strong="H7069" thee a linen|strong="H6593" girdle|strong="H0232", and put|strong="H7760" it upon thy loins|strong="H4975", and put|strong="H0935" it not in water|strong="H4325".
2 So I got|strong="H7069" a girdle|strong="H0232" according to the word|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and put|strong="H7760" it on my loins|strong="H4975".
3 And the word|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* came unto me the second time|strong="H8145", saying|strong="H0559",
4 Take|strong="H3947" the girdle|strong="H0232" that thou hast got|strong="H7069", which is upon thy loins|strong="H4975", and arise|strong="H6965", go|strong="H3212" to Euphrates|strong="H6578", and hide|strong="H2934" it there in a hole|strong="H5357" of the rock|strong="H5553".
5 So I went|strong="H3212", and hid|strong="H2934" it by Euphrates|strong="H6578", as the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* commanded|strong="H6680" me.
6 And it came to pass after|strong="H7093" many|strong="H7227" days|strong="H3117", that the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* said|strong="H0559" unto me, Arise|strong="H6965", go|strong="H3212" to Euphrates|strong="H6578", and take|strong="H3947" the girdle|strong="H0232" from thence, which I commanded|strong="H6680" thee to hide|strong="H2934" there.
7 Then I went|strong="H3212" to Euphrates|strong="H6578", and digged|strong="H2658", and took|strong="H3947" the girdle|strong="H0232" from the place|strong="H4725" where I had hid|strong="H2934" it: and, behold, the girdle|strong="H0232" was marred|strong="H7843", it was profitable|strong="H6743" for nothing.
8 Then the word|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* came unto me, saying|strong="H0559",
9 Thus saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, After this manner will I mar|strong="H7843" the pride|strong="H1347" of Judah|strong="H3063", and the great|strong="H7227" pride|strong="H1347" of Jerusalem|strong="H3389".
10 This evil|strong="H7451" people|strong="H5971", which refuse|strong="H3987" to hear|strong="H8085" my words|strong="H1697", which walk|strong="H1980" in the imagination|strong="H8307" of their heart|strong="H3820", and walk|strong="H3212" after|strong="H0310" other|strong="H0312" gods|strong="H0430", to serve|strong="H5647" them, and to worship|strong="H7812" them, shall even be as this girdle|strong="H0232", which is good|strong="H6743" for nothing.
11 For as the girdle|strong="H0232" cleaveth|strong="H1692" to the loins|strong="H4975" of a man|strong="H0376", so have I caused to cleave|strong="H1692" unto me the whole house|strong="H1004" of Israel|strong="H3478" and the whole house|strong="H1004" of Judah|strong="H3063", saith|strong="H5002" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*; that they might be unto me for a people|strong="H5971", and for a name|strong="H8034", and for a praise|strong="H8416", and for a glory|strong="H8597": but they would not hear|strong="H8085".
12 Therefore thou shalt speak|strong="H0559" unto them this word|strong="H1697"; Thus saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* God|strong="H0430" of Israel|strong="H3478", Every bottle|strong="H5035" shall be filled|strong="H4390" with wine|strong="H3196": and they shall say|strong="H0559" unto thee, Do we not certainly|strong="H3045" know|strong="H3045" that every bottle|strong="H5035" shall be filled|strong="H4390" with wine|strong="H3196"?
13 Then shalt thou say|strong="H0559" unto them, Thus saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, Behold, I will fill|strong="H4390" all the inhabitants|strong="H3427" of this land|strong="H0776", even the kings|strong="H4428" that sit|strong="H3427" upon David’s|strong="H1732" throne|strong="H3678", and the priests|strong="H3548", and the prophets|strong="H5030", and all the inhabitants|strong="H3427" of Jerusalem|strong="H3389", with drunkenness|strong="H7943".
14 And I will dash|strong="H5310" them one|strong="H0376" against another|strong="H0251", even the fathers|strong="H0001" and the sons|strong="H1121" together|strong="H3162", saith|strong="H5002" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*: I will not pity|strong="H2550", nor spare|strong="H2347", nor have mercy|strong="H7355", but destroy|strong="H7843" them.
15 Hear|strong="H8085" ye, and give ear|strong="H0238"; be not proud|strong="H1361": for the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* hath spoken|strong="H1696".
16 Give|strong="H5414" glory|strong="H3519" to the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* your God|strong="H0430", before he cause darkness|strong="H2821", and before your feet|strong="H7272" stumble|strong="H5062" upon the dark|strong="H5399" mountains|strong="H2022", and, while ye look|strong="H6960" for light|strong="H0216", he turn|strong="H7760" it into the shadow of death|strong="H6757", and make|strong="H7896" it gross darkness|strong="H6205".
17 But if ye will not hear|strong="H8085" it, my soul|strong="H5315" shall weep|strong="H1058" in secret places|strong="H4565" for|strong="H6440" your pride|strong="H1466"; and mine eye|strong="H5869" shall weep|strong="H1830" sore|strong="H1830", and run down|strong="H3381" with tears|strong="H1832", because the \+w LORD’s|strong="H3068"\+w* flock|strong="H5739" is carried away captive|strong="H7617".
18 Say|strong="H0559" unto the king|strong="H4428" and to the queen|strong="H1377", Humble|strong="H8213" yourselves, sit down|strong="H3427": for your principalities|strong="H4761" shall come down|strong="H3381", even the crown|strong="H5850" of your glory|strong="H8597".
19 The cities|strong="H5892" of the south|strong="H5045" shall be shut up|strong="H5462", and none shall open|strong="H6605" them: Judah|strong="H3063" shall be carried away captive|strong="H1540" all of it, it shall be wholly|strong="H7965" carried away captive|strong="H1540".
20 Lift up|strong="H5375" your eyes|strong="H5869", and behold|strong="H7200" them that come|strong="H0935" from the north|strong="H6828": where is the flock|strong="H5739" that was given|strong="H5414" thee, thy beautiful|strong="H8597" flock|strong="H6629"?
21 What wilt thou say|strong="H0559" when he shall punish|strong="H6485" thee? for thou hast taught|strong="H3925" them to be captains|strong="H0441", and as chief|strong="H7218" over thee: shall not sorrows|strong="H2256" take|strong="H0270" thee, as a woman|strong="H0802" in travail|strong="H3205"?
22 And if thou say|strong="H0559" in thine heart|strong="H3824", Wherefore come|strong="H7122" these things upon me? For the greatness|strong="H7230" of thine iniquity|strong="H5771" are thy skirts|strong="H7757" discovered|strong="H1540", and thy heels|strong="H6119" made bare|strong="H2554".
23 Can the Ethiopian|strong="H3569" change|strong="H2015" his skin|strong="H5785", or the leopard|strong="H5246" his spots|strong="H2272"? then may|strong="H3201" ye also do good|strong="H3190", that are accustomed|strong="H3928" to do evil|strong="H7489".
24 Therefore will I scatter|strong="H6327" them as the stubble|strong="H7179" that passeth away|strong="H5674" by the wind|strong="H7307" of the wilderness|strong="H4057".
25 This is thy lot|strong="H1486", the portion|strong="H4490" of thy measures|strong="H4055" from me, saith|strong="H5002" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*; because thou hast forgotten|strong="H7911" me, and trusted|strong="H0982" in falsehood|strong="H8267".
26 Therefore will I discover|strong="H2834" thy skirts|strong="H7757" upon thy face|strong="H6440", that thy shame|strong="H7036" may appear|strong="H7200".
27 I have seen|strong="H7200" thine adulteries|strong="H5004", and thy neighings|strong="H4684", the lewdness|strong="H2154" of thy whoredom|strong="H2184", and thine abominations|strong="H8251" on the hills|strong="H1389" in the fields|strong="H7704". Woe|strong="H0188" unto thee, O Jerusalem|strong="H3389"! wilt thou not be made clean|strong="H2891"? when shall it once|strong="H5750" be?
