Êxodo 20

King James (Authorized) Version (ENG-KJV2006)

And God|strong="H0430" spake|strong="H1696" all these words|strong="H1697", saying|strong="H0559",

I am the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* thy God|strong="H0430", which have brought|strong="H3318" thee out of the land|strong="H0776" of Egypt|strong="H4714", out of the house|strong="H1004" of bondage|strong="H5650".

Thou shalt have no other|strong="H0312" gods|strong="H0430" before me|strong="H6440".

Thou shalt not make|strong="H6213" unto thee any graven image|strong="H6459", or any likeness|strong="H8544" of any thing that|strong="H0834" is in heaven|strong="H8064" above|strong="H4605", or that is in the earth|strong="H0776" beneath, or that is in the water|strong="H4325" under the earth|strong="H0776":

Thou shalt not bow down|strong="H7812" thyself to them, nor serve|strong="H5647" them: for I the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* thy God|strong="H0430" am a jealous|strong="H7067" God|strong="H0410", visiting|strong="H6485" the iniquity|strong="H5771" of the fathers|strong="H0001" upon the children|strong="H1121" unto the third|strong="H8029" and fourth|strong="H7256" generation of them that hate|strong="H8130" me;

And shewing|strong="H6213" mercy|strong="H2617" unto thousands|strong="H0505" of them that love|strong="H0157" me, and keep|strong="H8104" my commandments|strong="H4687".

Thou shalt not take|strong="H5375" the name|strong="H8034" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* thy God|strong="H0430" in vain|strong="H7723"; for the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* will not hold him guiltless|strong="H5352" that taketh|strong="H5375" his name|strong="H8034" in vain|strong="H7723".

Remember|strong="H2142" the sabbath|strong="H7676" day|strong="H3117", to keep it holy|strong="H6942".

Six|strong="H8337" days|strong="H3117" shalt thou labour|strong="H5647", and do|strong="H6213" all thy work|strong="H4399":

But the seventh|strong="H7637" day|strong="H3117" is the sabbath|strong="H7676" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* thy God|strong="H0430": in it thou shalt not do|strong="H6213" any work|strong="H4399", thou, nor thy son|strong="H1121", nor thy daughter|strong="H1323", thy manservant|strong="H5650", nor thy maidservant|strong="H0519", nor thy cattle|strong="H0929", nor thy stranger|strong="H1616" that is within thy gates|strong="H8179":

For in six|strong="H8337" days|strong="H3117" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* made|strong="H6213" heaven|strong="H8064" and earth|strong="H0776", the sea|strong="H3220", and all that in them is, and rested|strong="H5117" the seventh|strong="H7637" day|strong="H3117": wherefore the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* blessed|strong="H1288" the sabbath|strong="H7676" day|strong="H3117", and hallowed|strong="H6942" it.

Honour|strong="H3513" thy father|strong="H0001" and thy mother|strong="H0517": that thy days|strong="H3117" may be long|strong="H0748" upon the land|strong="H0127" which the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* thy God|strong="H0430" giveth|strong="H5414" thee.

Thou shalt not kill|strong="H7523".

Thou shalt not commit adultery|strong="H5003".

Thou shalt not steal|strong="H1589".

Thou shalt not bear|strong="H6030" false|strong="H8267" witness|strong="H5707" against thy neighbour|strong="H7453".

Thou shalt not covet|strong="H2530" thy neighbour’s|strong="H7453" house|strong="H1004", thou shalt not covet|strong="H2530" thy neighbour’s|strong="H7453" wife|strong="H0802", nor his manservant|strong="H5650", nor his maidservant|strong="H0519", nor his ox|strong="H7794", nor his ass|strong="H2543", nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s|strong="H7453".

And all the people|strong="H5971" saw|strong="H7200" the thunderings|strong="H6963", and the lightnings|strong="H3940", and the noise|strong="H6963" of the trumpet|strong="H7782", and the mountain|strong="H2022" smoking|strong="H6226": and when the people|strong="H5971" saw|strong="H7200" it, they removed|strong="H5128", and stood|strong="H5975" afar off|strong="H7350".

And they said|strong="H0559" unto Moses|strong="H4872", Speak|strong="H1696" thou with us, and we will hear|strong="H8085": but let not God|strong="H0430" speak|strong="H1696" with us, lest we die|strong="H4191".

And Moses|strong="H4872" said|strong="H0559" unto the people|strong="H5971", Fear|strong="H3372" not: for God|strong="H0430" is come|strong="H0935" to|strong="H5668" prove|strong="H5254" you, and that his fear|strong="H3374" may be before your faces|strong="H6440", that ye sin|strong="H2398" not.

And the people|strong="H5971" stood|strong="H5975" afar off|strong="H7350", and Moses|strong="H4872" drew near|strong="H5066" unto the thick darkness|strong="H6205" where God|strong="H0430" was.

And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* said|strong="H0559" unto Moses|strong="H4872", Thus thou shalt say|strong="H0559" unto the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478", Ye have seen|strong="H7200" that I have talked|strong="H1696" with you from heaven|strong="H8064".

Ye shall not make|strong="H6213" with me gods|strong="H0430" of silver|strong="H3701", neither shall ye make|strong="H6213" unto you gods|strong="H0430" of gold|strong="H2091".

An altar|strong="H4196" of earth|strong="H0127" thou shalt make|strong="H6213" unto me, and shalt sacrifice|strong="H2076" thereon thy burnt offerings|strong="H5930", and thy peace offerings|strong="H8002", thy sheep|strong="H6629", and thine oxen|strong="H1241": in all places|strong="H4725" where I record|strong="H2142" my name|strong="H8034" I will come|strong="H0935" unto thee, and I will bless|strong="H1288" thee.

And if thou wilt make|strong="H6213" me an altar|strong="H4196" of stone|strong="H0068", thou shalt not build|strong="H1129" it of hewn stone|strong="H1496": for if thou lift up|strong="H5130" thy tool|strong="H2719" upon it, thou hast polluted|strong="H2490" it.

Neither shalt thou go up|strong="H5927" by steps|strong="H4609" unto mine altar|strong="H4196", that thy nakedness|strong="H6172" be not discovered|strong="H1540" thereon.
