Êxodo 19

King James (Authorized) Version (ENG-KJV2006)

In the third|strong="H7992" month|strong="H2320", when the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478" were gone forth|strong="H3318" out of the land|strong="H0776" of Egypt|strong="H4714", the same day|strong="H3117" came|strong="H0935" they into the wilderness|strong="H4057" of Sinai|strong="H5514".

For they were departed|strong="H5265" from Rephidim|strong="H7508", and were come|strong="H0935" to the desert|strong="H4057" of Sinai|strong="H5514", and had pitched|strong="H2583" in the wilderness|strong="H4057"; and there Israel|strong="H3478" camped|strong="H2583" before the mount|strong="H2022".

And Moses|strong="H4872" went up|strong="H5927" unto God|strong="H0430", and the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* called|strong="H7121" unto him out of the mountain|strong="H2022", saying|strong="H0559", Thus shalt thou say|strong="H0559" to the house|strong="H1004" of Jacob|strong="H3290", and tell|strong="H5046" the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478";

Ye have seen|strong="H7200" what I did|strong="H6213" unto the Egyptians|strong="H4714", and how I bare|strong="H5375" you on eagles’|strong="H5404" wings|strong="H3671", and brought|strong="H0935" you unto myself.

Now therefore, if ye will obey|strong="H8085" my voice|strong="H6963" indeed|strong="H8085", and keep|strong="H8104" my covenant|strong="H1285", then ye shall be a peculiar treasure|strong="H5459" unto me above all people|strong="H5971": for all the earth|strong="H0776" is mine:

And ye shall be unto me a kingdom|strong="H4467" of priests|strong="H3548", and an holy|strong="H6918" nation|strong="H1471". These are the words|strong="H1697" which thou shalt speak|strong="H1696" unto the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478".

And Moses|strong="H4872" came|strong="H0935" and called|strong="H7121" for the elders|strong="H2205" of the people|strong="H5971", and laid|strong="H7760" before their faces|strong="H6440" all these words|strong="H1697" which the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* commanded|strong="H6680" him.

And all the people|strong="H5971" answered|strong="H6030" together|strong="H3162", and said|strong="H0559", All that the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* hath spoken|strong="H1696" we will do|strong="H6213". And Moses|strong="H4872" returned|strong="H7725" the words|strong="H1697" of the people|strong="H5971" unto the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.

And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* said|strong="H0559" unto Moses|strong="H4872", Lo, I come|strong="H0935" unto thee in a thick|strong="H5645" cloud|strong="H6051", that the people|strong="H5971" may hear|strong="H8085" when I speak|strong="H1696" with thee, and believe|strong="H0539" thee for ever|strong="H5769". And Moses|strong="H4872" told|strong="H5046" the words|strong="H1697" of the people|strong="H5971" unto the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.

And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* said|strong="H0559" unto Moses|strong="H4872", Go|strong="H3212" unto the people|strong="H5971", and sanctify|strong="H6942" them to day|strong="H3117" and to morrow|strong="H4279", and let them wash|strong="H3526" their clothes|strong="H8071",

And be ready|strong="H3559" against the third|strong="H7992" day|strong="H3117": for the third|strong="H7992" day|strong="H3117" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* will come down|strong="H3381" in the sight|strong="H5869" of all the people|strong="H5971" upon mount|strong="H2022" Sinai|strong="H5514".

And thou shalt set bounds|strong="H1379" unto the people|strong="H5971" round about|strong="H5439", saying|strong="H0559", Take heed|strong="H8104" to yourselves, that ye go not up|strong="H5927" into the mount|strong="H2022", or touch|strong="H5060" the border|strong="H7097" of it: whosoever toucheth|strong="H5060" the mount|strong="H2022" shall be surely|strong="H4191" put to death|strong="H4191":

There shall not an hand|strong="H3027" touch|strong="H5060" it, but he shall surely|strong="H5619" be stoned|strong="H5619", or|strong="H0176" shot|strong="H3384" through|strong="H3384"; whether it be beast|strong="H0929" or|strong="H0518" man|strong="H0376", it shall not live|strong="H2421": when the trumpet|strong="H3104" soundeth long|strong="H4900", they shall come up|strong="H5927" to the mount|strong="H2022".

And Moses|strong="H4872" went down|strong="H3381" from the mount|strong="H2022" unto the people|strong="H5971", and sanctified|strong="H6942" the people|strong="H5971"; and they washed|strong="H3526" their clothes|strong="H8071".

And he said|strong="H0559" unto the people|strong="H5971", Be|strong="H1961" ready|strong="H3559" against the third|strong="H7969" day|strong="H3117": come|strong="H5066" not at your wives|strong="H0802".

And it came to pass on the third|strong="H7992" day|strong="H3117" in the morning|strong="H1242", that there were thunders|strong="H6963" and lightnings|strong="H1300", and a thick|strong="H3515" cloud|strong="H6051" upon the mount|strong="H2022", and the voice|strong="H6963" of the trumpet|strong="H7782" exceeding|strong="H3966" loud|strong="H2389"; so that all the people|strong="H5971" that was in the camp|strong="H4264" trembled|strong="H2729".

And Moses|strong="H4872" brought forth|strong="H3318" the people|strong="H5971" out of the camp|strong="H4264" to meet|strong="H7125" with God|strong="H0430"; and they stood|strong="H3320" at the nether|strong="H8482" part of the mount|strong="H2022".

And mount|strong="H2022" Sinai|strong="H5514" was altogether on a smoke|strong="H6225", because|strong="H6440" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* descended|strong="H3381" upon it in fire|strong="H0784": and the smoke|strong="H6227" thereof ascended|strong="H5927" as the smoke|strong="H6227" of a furnace|strong="H3536", and the whole mount|strong="H2022" quaked|strong="H2729" greatly|strong="H3966".

And when the voice|strong="H6963" of the trumpet|strong="H7782" sounded|strong="H6963" long|strong="H1980", and waxed louder|strong="H2390" and louder|strong="H3966", Moses|strong="H4872" spake|strong="H1696", and God|strong="H0430" answered|strong="H6030" him by a voice|strong="H6963".

And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* came down|strong="H3381" upon mount|strong="H2022" Sinai|strong="H5514", on the top|strong="H7218" of the mount|strong="H2022": and the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* called|strong="H7121" Moses|strong="H4872" up to|strong="H0413" the top|strong="H7218" of the mount|strong="H2022"; and Moses|strong="H4872" went up|strong="H5927".

And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* said|strong="H0559" unto Moses|strong="H4872", Go down|strong="H3381", charge|strong="H5749" the people|strong="H5971", lest they break through|strong="H2040" unto the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* to gaze|strong="H7200", and many|strong="H7227" of them perish|strong="H5307".

And let the priests|strong="H3548" also, which come near|strong="H5066" to the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, sanctify|strong="H6942" themselves, lest the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* break forth|strong="H6555" upon them.

And Moses|strong="H4872" said|strong="H0559" unto the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, The people|strong="H5971" cannot|strong="H3201" come up|strong="H5927" to mount|strong="H2022" Sinai|strong="H5514": for thou chargedst|strong="H5749" us, saying|strong="H0559", Set bounds|strong="H1379" about the mount|strong="H2022", and sanctify|strong="H6942" it.

And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* said|strong="H0559" unto him, Away|strong="H3212", get thee down|strong="H3381", and thou shalt come up|strong="H5927", thou, and Aaron|strong="H0175" with thee: but let not the priests|strong="H3548" and the people|strong="H5971" break through|strong="H2040" to come up|strong="H5927" unto the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, lest he break forth|strong="H6555" upon them.

So Moses|strong="H4872" went down|strong="H3381" unto the people|strong="H5971", and spake|strong="H0559" unto them.
