Êxodo 21

King James (Authorized) Version (ENG-KJV2006)

Now these are the judgments|strong="H4941" which thou shalt set|strong="H7760" before|strong="H6440" them.

If thou buy|strong="H7069" an Hebrew|strong="H5680" servant|strong="H5650", six|strong="H8337" years|strong="H8141" he shall serve|strong="H5647": and in the seventh|strong="H7637" he shall go out|strong="H3318" free|strong="H2670" for nothing|strong="H2600".

If he came in|strong="H0935" by himself|strong="H1610", he shall go out|strong="H3318" by himself|strong="H1610": if he were married|strong="H1167", then his wife|strong="H0802" shall go out|strong="H3318" with him.

If his master|strong="H0113" have given|strong="H5414" him a wife|strong="H0802", and she have born|strong="H3205" him sons|strong="H1121" or daughters|strong="H1323"; the wife|strong="H0802" and her children|strong="H3206" shall be her master’s|strong="H0113", and he shall go out|strong="H3318" by himself|strong="H1610".

And if the servant|strong="H5650" shall plainly|strong="H0559" say|strong="H0559", I love|strong="H0157" my master|strong="H0113", my wife|strong="H0802", and my children|strong="H1121"; I will not go out|strong="H3318" free|strong="H2670":

Then his master|strong="H0113" shall bring|strong="H5066" him unto the judges|strong="H0430"; he shall also bring|strong="H5066" him to the door|strong="H1817", or unto the door post|strong="H4201"; and his master|strong="H0113" shall bore|strong="H7527" his ear|strong="H0241" through with an aul|strong="H4836"; and he shall serve|strong="H5647" him for ever|strong="H5769".

And if a man|strong="H0376" sell|strong="H4376" his daughter|strong="H1323" to be a maidservant|strong="H0519", she shall not go out|strong="H3318" as the menservants|strong="H5650" do|strong="H3318".

If she please|strong="H7451" not her master|strong="H0113", who hath betrothed|strong="H3259" her to himself, then shall he let her be redeemed|strong="H6299": to sell|strong="H4376" her unto a strange|strong="H5237" nation|strong="H5971" he shall have no power|strong="H4910", seeing he hath dealt deceitfully|strong="H0898" with her.

And if he have betrothed|strong="H3259" her unto his son|strong="H1121", he shall deal|strong="H6213" with her after the manner|strong="H4941" of daughters|strong="H1323".

If he take|strong="H3947" him another|strong="H0312" wife; her food|strong="H7607", her raiment|strong="H3682", and her duty of marriage|strong="H5772", shall he not diminish|strong="H1639".

And if he do|strong="H6213" not these three|strong="H7969" unto her, then shall she go out|strong="H3318" free|strong="H2600" without money|strong="H3701".

He that smiteth|strong="H5221" a man|strong="H0376", so that he die|strong="H4191", shall be surely|strong="H4191" put to death|strong="H4191".

And if a man lie not in wait|strong="H6658", but God|strong="H0430" deliver|strong="H0579" him into his hand|strong="H3027"; then I will appoint|strong="H7760" thee a place|strong="H4725" whither he shall flee|strong="H5127".

But if a man|strong="H0376" come presumptuously|strong="H2102" upon his neighbour|strong="H7453", to slay|strong="H2026" him with guile|strong="H6195"; thou shalt take|strong="H3947" him from mine altar|strong="H4196", that he may die|strong="H4191".

And he that smiteth|strong="H5221" his father|strong="H0001", or his mother|strong="H0517", shall be surely|strong="H4191" put to death|strong="H4191".

And he that stealeth|strong="H1589" a man|strong="H0376", and selleth|strong="H4376" him, or if he be found|strong="H4672" in his hand|strong="H3027", he shall surely|strong="H4191" be put to death|strong="H4191".

And he that curseth|strong="H7043" his father|strong="H0001", or his mother|strong="H0517", shall surely|strong="H4191" be put to death|strong="H4191".

And if men|strong="H0582" strive|strong="H7378" together, and one|strong="H0376" smite|strong="H5221" another|strong="H7453" with a stone|strong="H0068", or|strong="H0176" with his fist|strong="H0106", and he die|strong="H4191" not, but keepeth|strong="H5307" his bed|strong="H4904":

If he rise again|strong="H6965", and walk|strong="H1980" abroad|strong="H2351" upon his staff|strong="H4938", then shall he that smote|strong="H5221" him be quit|strong="H5352": only he shall pay|strong="H5414" for the loss of his time|strong="H7674", and shall cause him to be thoroughly|strong="H7495" healed|strong="H7495".

And if a man|strong="H0376" smite|strong="H5221" his servant|strong="H5650", or his maid|strong="H0519", with a rod|strong="H7626", and he die|strong="H4191" under his hand|strong="H3027"; he shall be surely|strong="H5358" punished|strong="H5358".

Notwithstanding|strong="H0389", if he continue|strong="H5975" a day|strong="H3117" or two|strong="H8147", he shall not be punished|strong="H5358": for he is his money|strong="H3701".

If men|strong="H0582" strive|strong="H5327", and hurt|strong="H5062" a woman|strong="H0802" with child|strong="H2030", so that her fruit|strong="H3206" depart|strong="H3318" from her, and yet no mischief follow|strong="H0611": he shall be surely|strong="H6064" punished|strong="H6064", according as the woman’s|strong="H0802" husband|strong="H1167" will lay|strong="H7896" upon him; and he shall pay|strong="H5414" as the judges|strong="H6414" determine.

And if any mischief follow|strong="H0611", then thou shalt give|strong="H5414" life|strong="H5315" for life|strong="H5315",

Eye|strong="H5869" for eye|strong="H5869", tooth|strong="H8127" for tooth|strong="H8127", hand|strong="H3027" for hand|strong="H3027", foot|strong="H7272" for foot|strong="H7272",

Burning|strong="H3555" for burning|strong="H3555", wound|strong="H6482" for wound|strong="H6482", stripe|strong="H2250" for stripe|strong="H2250".

And if a man|strong="H0376" smite|strong="H5221" the eye|strong="H5869" of his servant|strong="H5650", or the eye|strong="H5869" of his maid|strong="H0519", that it perish|strong="H7843"; he shall let him go|strong="H7971" free|strong="H2670" for|strong="H8478" his eye’s|strong="H5869" sake.

And if he smite|strong="H5307" out his manservant’s|strong="H5650" tooth|strong="H8127", or his maidservant’s|strong="H0519" tooth|strong="H8127"; he shall let him go|strong="H7971" free|strong="H2670" for his tooth’s|strong="H8127" sake.

If an ox|strong="H7794" gore|strong="H5055" a man|strong="H0376" or a woman|strong="H0802", that they die|strong="H4191": then the ox|strong="H7794" shall be surely|strong="H5619" stoned|strong="H5619", and his flesh|strong="H1320" shall not be eaten|strong="H0398"; but the owner|strong="H1167" of the ox|strong="H7794" shall be quit|strong="H5355".

But if the ox|strong="H7794" were wont to push with his horn|strong="H5056" in time past|strong="H8543", and it hath been testified|strong="H5749" to his owner|strong="H1167", and he hath not kept|strong="H8104" him in, but that he hath killed|strong="H4191" a man|strong="H0376" or a woman|strong="H0802"; the ox|strong="H7794" shall be stoned|strong="H5619", and his owner|strong="H1167" also shall be put to death|strong="H4191".

If there be laid|strong="H7896" on him a sum of money|strong="H3724", then he shall give|strong="H5414" for the ransom|strong="H6306" of his life|strong="H5315" whatsoever is laid|strong="H7896" upon him.

Whether he have gored|strong="H5055" a son|strong="H1121", or|strong="H0176" have gored|strong="H5055" a daughter|strong="H1323", according to this judgment|strong="H4941" shall it be done|strong="H6213" unto him.

If the ox|strong="H7794" shall push|strong="H5055" a manservant|strong="H5650" or a maidservant|strong="H0519"; he shall give|strong="H5414" unto their master|strong="H0113" thirty|strong="H7970" shekels|strong="H8255" of silver|strong="H3701", and the ox|strong="H7794" shall be stoned|strong="H5619".

And if a man|strong="H0376" shall open|strong="H6605" a pit|strong="H0953", or if a man|strong="H0376" shall dig|strong="H3738" a pit|strong="H0953", and not cover|strong="H3680" it, and an ox|strong="H7794" or an ass|strong="H2543" fall|strong="H5307" therein;

The owner|strong="H1167" of the pit|strong="H0953" shall make it good|strong="H7999", and give|strong="H7725" money|strong="H3701" unto the owner|strong="H1167" of them; and the dead|strong="H4191" beast shall be his.

And if one man’s|strong="H0376" ox|strong="H7794" hurt|strong="H5062" another’s|strong="H7453", that he die|strong="H4191"; then they shall sell|strong="H4376" the live|strong="H2416" ox|strong="H7794", and divide|strong="H2673" the money|strong="H3701" of it; and the dead|strong="H4191" ox also they shall divide|strong="H2673".

Or if it be known|strong="H3045" that the ox|strong="H7794" hath used to push|strong="H5056" in time past|strong="H8543", and his owner|strong="H1167" hath not kept|strong="H8104" him in; he shall surely|strong="H7999" pay|strong="H7999" ox|strong="H7794" for ox|strong="H7794"; and the dead|strong="H4191" shall be his own.
