Deuteronômio 4

King James (Authorized) Version (ENG-KJV2006)

Now therefore hearken|strong="H8085", O Israel|strong="H3478", unto the statutes|strong="H2706" and unto the judgments|strong="H4941", which I teach|strong="H3925" you, for to do|strong="H6213" them, that ye may live|strong="H2421", and go in|strong="H0935" and possess|strong="H3423" the land|strong="H0776" which the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* God|strong="H0430" of your fathers|strong="H0001" giveth|strong="H5414" you.

Ye shall not add|strong="H3254" unto the word|strong="H1697" which I command|strong="H6680" you, neither shall ye diminish|strong="H1639" ought from it, that ye may keep|strong="H8104" the commandments|strong="H4687" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* your God|strong="H0430" which I command|strong="H6680" you.

Your eyes|strong="H5869" have seen|strong="H7200" what the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* did|strong="H6213" because of Baal-peor|strong="H1187": for all the men|strong="H0376" that followed|strong="H0310" Baal-peor|strong="H1187", the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* thy God|strong="H0430" hath destroyed|strong="H8045" them from among|strong="H7130" you.

But ye that did cleave|strong="H1695" unto the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* your God|strong="H0430" are alive|strong="H2416" every one of you this day|strong="H3117".

Behold|strong="H7200", I have taught|strong="H3925" you statutes|strong="H2706" and judgments|strong="H4941", even as|strong="H0834" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* my God|strong="H0430" commanded|strong="H6680" me, that ye should do|strong="H6213" so in|strong="H7130" the land|strong="H0776" whither ye go|strong="H0935" to possess|strong="H3423" it.

Keep|strong="H8104" therefore and do|strong="H6213" them; for this is your wisdom|strong="H2451" and your understanding|strong="H0998" in the sight|strong="H5869" of the nations|strong="H5971", which shall hear|strong="H8085" all these statutes|strong="H2706", and say|strong="H0559", Surely this great|strong="H1419" nation|strong="H1471" is a wise|strong="H2450" and understanding|strong="H0995" people|strong="H5971".

For what nation|strong="H1471" is there so great|strong="H1419", who hath God|strong="H0430" so nigh|strong="H7138" unto them, as the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* our God|strong="H0430" is in all things that we call|strong="H7121" upon him for?

And what nation|strong="H1471" is there so great|strong="H1419", that hath statutes|strong="H2706" and judgments|strong="H4941" so righteous|strong="H6662" as all this law|strong="H8451", which I set|strong="H5414" before|strong="H6440" you this day|strong="H3117"?

Only take heed|strong="H8104" to thyself, and keep|strong="H8104" thy soul|strong="H5315" diligently|strong="H3966", lest thou forget|strong="H7911" the things|strong="H1697" which thine eyes|strong="H5869" have seen|strong="H7200", and lest they depart|strong="H5493" from thy heart|strong="H3824" all the days|strong="H3117" of thy life|strong="H2416": but teach|strong="H3045" them thy sons|strong="H1121", and thy sons’|strong="H1121" sons|strong="H1121";

Specially the day|strong="H3117" that thou stoodest|strong="H5975" before|strong="H6440" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* thy God|strong="H0430" in Horeb|strong="H2722", when the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* said|strong="H0559" unto me, Gather|strong="H6950" me the people|strong="H5971" together|strong="H6950", and I will make them hear|strong="H8085" my words|strong="H1697", that they may learn|strong="H3925" to fear|strong="H3372" me all the days|strong="H3117" that they shall live|strong="H2416" upon the earth|strong="H0127", and that they may teach|strong="H3925" their children|strong="H1121".

And ye came near|strong="H7126" and stood|strong="H5975" under the mountain|strong="H2022"; and the mountain|strong="H2022" burned|strong="H1197" with fire|strong="H0784" unto the midst|strong="H3820" of heaven|strong="H8064", with darkness|strong="H6205", clouds|strong="H6051", and thick darkness|strong="H2822".

And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* spake|strong="H1696" unto you out of the midst|strong="H8432" of the fire|strong="H0784": ye heard|strong="H8085" the voice|strong="H6963" of the words|strong="H1697", but saw|strong="H7200" no similitude|strong="H8544"; only|strong="H2108" ye heard a voice|strong="H6963".

And he declared|strong="H5046" unto you his covenant|strong="H1285", which he commanded|strong="H6680" you to perform|strong="H6213", even ten|strong="H6235" commandments|strong="H1697"; and he wrote|strong="H3789" them upon two|strong="H8147" tables|strong="H3871" of stone|strong="H0068".

And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* commanded|strong="H6680" me at that time|strong="H6256" to teach|strong="H3925" you statutes|strong="H2706" and judgments|strong="H4941", that ye might do|strong="H6213" them in the land|strong="H0776" whither ye go over|strong="H5674" to possess|strong="H3423" it.

Take ye therefore good|strong="H3966" heed|strong="H8104" unto yourselves|strong="H5315"; for ye saw|strong="H7200" no manner of similitude|strong="H8544" on the day|strong="H3117" that the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* spake|strong="H1696" unto you in Horeb|strong="H2722" out of the midst|strong="H8432" of the fire|strong="H0784":

Lest ye corrupt|strong="H7843" yourselves, and make|strong="H6213" you a graven image|strong="H6459", the similitude|strong="H8544" of any figure|strong="H5566", the likeness|strong="H8403" of male|strong="H2145" or female|strong="H5347",

The likeness|strong="H8403" of any beast|strong="H0929" that is on the earth|strong="H0776", the likeness|strong="H8403" of any winged|strong="H3671" fowl|strong="H6833" that flieth|strong="H5774" in the air|strong="H8064",

The likeness|strong="H8403" of any thing that creepeth|strong="H7430" on the ground|strong="H0127", the likeness|strong="H8403" of any fish|strong="H1710" that is in the waters|strong="H4325" beneath|strong="H8478" the earth|strong="H0776":

And lest thou lift up|strong="H5375" thine eyes|strong="H5869" unto heaven|strong="H8064", and when thou seest|strong="H7200" the sun|strong="H8121", and the moon|strong="H3394", and the stars|strong="H3556", even all the host|strong="H6635" of heaven|strong="H8064", shouldest be driven|strong="H5080" to worship|strong="H7812" them, and serve|strong="H5647" them, which the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* thy God|strong="H0430" hath divided|strong="H2505" unto all nations|strong="H5971" under the whole heaven|strong="H8064".

But the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* hath taken|strong="H3947" you, and brought you forth|strong="H3318" out of the iron|strong="H1270" furnace|strong="H3564", even out of Egypt|strong="H4714", to be unto him a people|strong="H5971" of inheritance|strong="H5159", as ye are this day|strong="H3117".

Furthermore the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* was angry|strong="H0599" with me for your sakes|strong="H1697", and sware|strong="H7650" that I should not go over|strong="H5674" Jordan|strong="H3383", and that I should not go|strong="H0935" in unto that good|strong="H2896" land|strong="H0776", which the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* thy God|strong="H0430" giveth|strong="H5414" thee for an inheritance|strong="H5159":

But I must die|strong="H4191" in this land|strong="H0776", I must not go over|strong="H5674" Jordan|strong="H3383": but ye shall go over|strong="H5674", and possess|strong="H3423" that good|strong="H2896" land|strong="H0776".

Take heed|strong="H8104" unto yourselves, lest ye forget|strong="H7911" the covenant|strong="H1285" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* your God|strong="H0430", which he made|strong="H3772" with you, and make|strong="H6213" you a graven image|strong="H6459", or the likeness|strong="H8544" of any|strong="H3605" thing, which the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* thy God|strong="H0430" hath forbidden|strong="H6680" thee.

For the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* thy God|strong="H0430" is a consuming|strong="H0398" fire|strong="H0784", even a jealous|strong="H7067" God|strong="H0410".

When thou shalt beget|strong="H3205" children|strong="H1121", and children’s|strong="H1121" children|strong="H1121", and ye shall have remained long|strong="H3462" in the land|strong="H0776", and shall corrupt|strong="H7843" yourselves, and make|strong="H6213" a graven image|strong="H6459", or the likeness|strong="H8544" of any thing, and shall do|strong="H6213" evil|strong="H7451" in the sight|strong="H5869" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* thy God|strong="H0430", to provoke him to anger|strong="H3707":

I call|strong="H5749" heaven|strong="H8064" and earth|strong="H0776" to witness|strong="H5749" against you this day|strong="H3117", that ye shall soon|strong="H4118" utterly|strong="H0006" perish|strong="H0006" from off the land|strong="H0776" whereunto ye go over|strong="H5674" Jordan|strong="H3383" to possess|strong="H3423" it; ye shall not prolong|strong="H0748" your days|strong="H3117" upon it, but shall utterly|strong="H8045" be destroyed|strong="H8045".

And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* shall scatter|strong="H6327" you among the nations|strong="H5971", and ye shall be left|strong="H7604" few|strong="H4962" in number|strong="H4557" among the heathen|strong="H1471", whither the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* shall lead|strong="H5090" you.

And there ye shall serve|strong="H5647" gods|strong="H0430", the work|strong="H4639" of men’s|strong="H0120" hands|strong="H3027", wood|strong="H6086" and stone|strong="H0068", which neither see|strong="H7200", nor hear|strong="H8085", nor eat|strong="H0398", nor smell|strong="H7306".

But if from thence thou shalt seek|strong="H1245" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* thy God|strong="H0430", thou shalt find|strong="H4672" him, if thou seek|strong="H1875" him with all thy heart|strong="H3824" and with all thy soul|strong="H5315".

When thou art in tribulation|strong="H6862", and all these things|strong="H1697" are come|strong="H4672" upon thee, even in the latter|strong="H0319" days|strong="H3117", if thou turn|strong="H7725" to the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* thy God|strong="H0430", and shalt be obedient|strong="H8085" unto his voice|strong="H6963";

(For the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* thy God|strong="H0430" is a merciful|strong="H7349" God|strong="H0410";) he will not forsake|strong="H7503" thee, neither destroy|strong="H7843" thee, nor forget|strong="H7911" the covenant|strong="H1285" of thy fathers|strong="H0001" which he sware|strong="H7650" unto them.

For ask|strong="H7592" now of the days|strong="H3117" that are past|strong="H7223", which were|strong="H1961" before|strong="H6440" thee, since the day|strong="H3117" that God|strong="H0430" created|strong="H1254" man|strong="H0120" upon the earth|strong="H0776", and ask from the one side|strong="H7097" of heaven|strong="H8064" unto the other, whether there hath been any such thing as this great|strong="H1419" thing|strong="H1697" is, or hath been heard|strong="H8085" like it?

Did ever people|strong="H5971" hear|strong="H8085" the voice|strong="H6963" of God|strong="H0430" speaking out|strong="H1696" of the midst|strong="H8432" of the fire|strong="H0784", as thou hast heard|strong="H8085", and live|strong="H2421"?

Or hath God|strong="H0430" assayed|strong="H5254" to go|strong="H0935" and take|strong="H3947" him a nation|strong="H1471" from the midst|strong="H7130" of another nation|strong="H1471", by temptations|strong="H4531", by signs|strong="H0226", and by wonders|strong="H4159", and by war|strong="H4421", and by a mighty|strong="H2389" hand|strong="H3027", and by a stretched out|strong="H5186" arm|strong="H2220", and by great|strong="H1419" terrors|strong="H4172", according to all that the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* your God|strong="H0430" did|strong="H6213" for you in Egypt|strong="H4714" before your eyes|strong="H5869"?

Unto thee it was shewed|strong="H7200", that thou mightest know|strong="H3045" that the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* he is God|strong="H0430"; there is none else|strong="H5750" beside him|strong="H0905".

Out of heaven|strong="H8064" he made thee to hear|strong="H8085" his voice|strong="H6963", that he might instruct|strong="H3256" thee: and upon earth|strong="H0776" he shewed|strong="H7200" thee his great|strong="H1419" fire|strong="H0784"; and thou heardest|strong="H8085" his words|strong="H1697" out of the midst|strong="H8432" of the fire|strong="H0784".

And because he loved|strong="H0157" thy fathers|strong="H0001", therefore he chose|strong="H0977" their seed|strong="H2233" after|strong="H0310" them, and brought thee out|strong="H3318" in his sight|strong="H6440" with his mighty|strong="H1419" power|strong="H3581" out of Egypt|strong="H4714";

To drive out|strong="H3423" nations|strong="H1471" from before|strong="H6440" thee greater|strong="H1419" and mightier|strong="H6099" than thou art, to bring|strong="H0935" thee in, to give|strong="H5414" thee their land|strong="H0776" for an inheritance|strong="H5159", as it is this day|strong="H3117".

Know|strong="H3045" therefore this day|strong="H3117", and consider|strong="H7725" it in thine heart|strong="H3824", that the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* he is God|strong="H0430" in heaven|strong="H8064" above|strong="H4605", and upon the earth|strong="H0776" beneath: there is none else.

Thou shalt keep|strong="H8104" therefore his statutes|strong="H2706", and his commandments|strong="H4687", which I command|strong="H6680" thee this day|strong="H3117", that it may go well|strong="H3190" with thee, and with thy children|strong="H1121" after|strong="H0310" thee, and that thou mayest prolong|strong="H0748" thy days|strong="H3117" upon the earth|strong="H0127", which the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* thy God|strong="H0430" giveth|strong="H5414" thee, for ever.

Then Moses|strong="H4872" severed|strong="H0914" three|strong="H7969" cities|strong="H5892" on this side|strong="H5676" Jordan|strong="H3383" toward the sunrising|strong="H8121";

That the slayer|strong="H7523" might flee|strong="H5127" thither, which should kill|strong="H7523" his neighbour|strong="H7453" unawares|strong="H1097", and hated|strong="H8130" him not in times|strong="H8543" past|strong="H8032"; and that fleeing|strong="H5127" unto one|strong="H0259" of these|strong="H0411" cities|strong="H5892" he might live|strong="H2425":

Namely, Bezer|strong="H1221" in the wilderness|strong="H4057", in the plain|strong="H4334" country|strong="H0776", of the Reubenites|strong="H7206"; and Ramoth|strong="H7216" in Gilead|strong="H1568", of the Gadites|strong="H1425"; and Golan|strong="H1474" in Bashan|strong="H1316", of the Manassites|strong="H4520".

And this is the law|strong="H8451" which Moses|strong="H4872" set|strong="H7760" before|strong="H6440" the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478":

These are the testimonies|strong="H5713", and the statutes|strong="H2706", and the judgments|strong="H4941", which Moses|strong="H4872" spake|strong="H1696" unto the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478", after they came forth|strong="H3318" out of Egypt|strong="H4714",

On this side|strong="H5676" Jordan|strong="H3383", in the valley|strong="H1516" over against|strong="H4136" Beth-peor|strong="H1047", in the land|strong="H0776" of Sihon|strong="H5511" king|strong="H4428" of the Amorites|strong="H0567", who dwelt|strong="H3427" at Heshbon|strong="H2809", whom Moses|strong="H4872" and the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478" smote|strong="H5221", after they were come forth|strong="H3318" out of Egypt|strong="H4714":

And they possessed|strong="H3423" his land|strong="H0776", and the land|strong="H0776" of Og|strong="H5747" king|strong="H4428" of Bashan|strong="H1316", two|strong="H8147" kings|strong="H4428" of the Amorites|strong="H0567", which were on this side|strong="H5676" Jordan|strong="H3383" toward the sunrising|strong="H4217";

From Aroer|strong="H6177", which is by the bank|strong="H8193" of the river|strong="H5158" Arnon|strong="H0769", even unto mount|strong="H2022" Sion|strong="H7865", which is Hermon|strong="H2768",

And all the plain|strong="H6160" on this side|strong="H5676" Jordan|strong="H3383" eastward|strong="H4217", even unto the sea|strong="H3220" of the plain|strong="H6160", under the springs|strong="H0794" of Pisgah|strong="H6449".
