2 The \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* our God|strong="H0430" made|strong="H3772" a covenant|strong="H1285" with us in Horeb|strong="H2722".
3 The \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* made|strong="H3772" not this covenant|strong="H1285" with our fathers|strong="H0001", but with us|strong="H0587", even us, who are all of us|strong="H0428" here alive|strong="H2416" this day|strong="H3117".
4 The \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* talked|strong="H1696" with you face|strong="H6440" to face|strong="H6440" in the mount|strong="H2022" out of the midst|strong="H8432" of the fire|strong="H0784",
5 (I stood|strong="H5975" between the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* and you at that time|strong="H6256", to shew|strong="H5046" you the word|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*: for ye were afraid|strong="H3372" by reason|strong="H6440" of the fire|strong="H0784", and went not up|strong="H5927" into the mount|strong="H2022";) saying|strong="H0559",
6 I am the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* thy God|strong="H0430", which brought thee out|strong="H3318" of the land|strong="H0776" of Egypt|strong="H4714", from the house|strong="H1004" of bondage|strong="H5650".
7 Thou shalt have none other|strong="H0312" gods|strong="H0430" before|strong="H6440" me.
8 Thou shalt not make|strong="H6213" thee any graven image|strong="H6459", or any likeness|strong="H8544" of any thing that is in heaven|strong="H8064" above|strong="H4605", or that is in the earth|strong="H0776" beneath, or that is in the waters|strong="H4325" beneath the earth|strong="H0776":
9 Thou shalt not bow down|strong="H7812" thyself unto them, nor serve|strong="H5647" them: for I the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* thy God|strong="H0430" am a jealous|strong="H7067" God|strong="H0410", visiting|strong="H6485" the iniquity|strong="H5771" of the fathers|strong="H0001" upon the children|strong="H1121" unto the third|strong="H8029" and fourth|strong="H7256" generation of them that hate|strong="H8130" me,
10 And shewing|strong="H6213" mercy|strong="H2617" unto thousands|strong="H0505" of them that love|strong="H0157" me and keep|strong="H8104" my commandments|strong="H4687".
11 Thou shalt not take|strong="H5375" the name|strong="H8034" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* thy God|strong="H0430" in vain|strong="H7723": for the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* will not hold him guiltless|strong="H5352" that taketh|strong="H5375" his name|strong="H8034" in vain|strong="H7723".
12 Keep|strong="H8104" the sabbath|strong="H7676" day|strong="H3117" to sanctify|strong="H6942" it, as the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* thy God|strong="H0430" hath commanded|strong="H6680" thee.
13 Six|strong="H8337" days|strong="H3117" thou shalt labour|strong="H5647", and do|strong="H6213" all thy work|strong="H4399":
14 But the seventh|strong="H7637" day|strong="H3117" is the sabbath|strong="H7676" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* thy God|strong="H0430": in it thou shalt not do|strong="H6213" any work|strong="H4399", thou, nor thy son|strong="H1121", nor thy daughter|strong="H1323", nor thy manservant|strong="H5650", nor thy maidservant|strong="H0519", nor thine ox|strong="H7794", nor thine ass|strong="H2543", nor any of thy cattle|strong="H0929", nor thy stranger|strong="H1616" that is within thy gates|strong="H8179"; that thy manservant|strong="H5650" and thy maidservant|strong="H0519" may rest|strong="H5117" as well as thou.
15 And remember|strong="H2142" that thou wast a servant|strong="H5650" in the land|strong="H0776" of Egypt|strong="H4714", and that the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* thy God|strong="H0430" brought|strong="H3318" thee out thence through a mighty|strong="H2389" hand|strong="H3027" and by a stretched out|strong="H5186" arm|strong="H2220": therefore the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* thy God|strong="H0430" commanded|strong="H6680" thee to keep|strong="H6213" the sabbath|strong="H7676" day|strong="H3117".
16 Honour|strong="H3513" thy father|strong="H0001" and thy mother|strong="H0517", as the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* thy God|strong="H0430" hath commanded|strong="H6680" thee; that thy days|strong="H3117" may be prolonged|strong="H0748", and that it may go well|strong="H3190" with thee, in the land|strong="H0127" which the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* thy God|strong="H0430" giveth|strong="H5414" thee.
17 Thou shalt not kill|strong="H7523".
18 Neither shalt thou commit adultery|strong="H5003".
19 Neither shalt thou steal|strong="H1589".
20 Neither shalt thou bear|strong="H6030" false|strong="H7723" witness|strong="H5707" against thy neighbour|strong="H7453".
21 Neither shalt thou desire|strong="H2530" thy neighbour’s|strong="H7453" wife|strong="H0802", neither shalt thou covet|strong="H0183" thy neighbour’s|strong="H7453" house|strong="H1004", his field|strong="H7704", or his manservant|strong="H5650", or his maidservant|strong="H0519", his ox|strong="H7794", or his ass|strong="H2543", or any thing that is thy neighbour’s|strong="H7453".
22 These words|strong="H1697" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* spake|strong="H1696" unto all your assembly|strong="H6951" in the mount|strong="H2022" out of the midst|strong="H8432" of the fire|strong="H0784", of the cloud|strong="H6051", and of the thick darkness|strong="H6205", with a great|strong="H1419" voice|strong="H6963": and he added no more|strong="H3254". And he wrote|strong="H3789" them in two|strong="H8147" tables|strong="H3871" of stone|strong="H0068", and delivered|strong="H5414" them unto me.
23 And it came to pass, when ye heard|strong="H8085" the voice|strong="H6963" out of the midst|strong="H8432" of the darkness|strong="H2822", (for the mountain|strong="H2022" did burn|strong="H1197" with fire|strong="H0784",) that ye came near|strong="H7126" unto me, even all the heads|strong="H7218" of your tribes|strong="H7626", and your elders|strong="H2205";
24 And ye said|strong="H0559", Behold, the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* our God|strong="H0430" hath shewed|strong="H7200" us his glory|strong="H3519" and his greatness|strong="H1433", and we have heard|strong="H8085" his voice|strong="H6963" out of the midst|strong="H8432" of the fire|strong="H0784": we have seen|strong="H7200" this day|strong="H3117" that God|strong="H0430" doth talk|strong="H1696" with man|strong="H0120", and he liveth|strong="H2425".
25 Now therefore why should we die|strong="H4191"? for this great|strong="H1419" fire|strong="H0784" will consume|strong="H0398" us: if we hear|strong="H8085" the voice|strong="H6963" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* our God|strong="H0430" any more|strong="H3254", then we shall die|strong="H4191".
26 For who is there of all flesh|strong="H1320", that hath heard|strong="H8085" the voice|strong="H6963" of the living|strong="H2416" God|strong="H0430" speaking|strong="H1696" out of the midst|strong="H8432" of the fire|strong="H0784", as we have, and lived|strong="H2421"?
27 Go thou near|strong="H7126", and hear|strong="H8085" all that the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* our God|strong="H0430" shall say|strong="H0559": and speak|strong="H1696" thou unto us all that the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* our God|strong="H0430" shall speak|strong="H1696" unto thee; and we will hear|strong="H8085" it, and do|strong="H6213" it.
28 And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* heard|strong="H8085" the voice|strong="H6963" of your words|strong="H1697", when ye spake|strong="H1696" unto me; and the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* said|strong="H0559" unto me, I have heard|strong="H8085" the voice|strong="H6963" of the words|strong="H1697" of this people|strong="H5971", which they have spoken|strong="H1696" unto thee: they have well|strong="H3190" said all that they have spoken|strong="H1696".
29 O that there were such|strong="H2088" an|strong="H4310" heart|strong="H3824" in them|strong="H5414", that they would fear|strong="H3372" me, and keep|strong="H8104" all my commandments|strong="H4687" always|strong="H3117", that it might be well|strong="H3190" with them, and with their children|strong="H1121" for ever|strong="H5769"!
30 Go|strong="H3212" say|strong="H0559" to them, Get|strong="H7725" you into your tents|strong="H0168" again|strong="H7725".
31 But as for thee, stand|strong="H5975" thou here by me|strong="H5978", and I will speak|strong="H1696" unto thee all the commandments|strong="H4687", and the statutes|strong="H2706", and the judgments|strong="H4941", which thou shalt teach|strong="H3925" them, that they may do|strong="H6213" them in the land|strong="H0776" which I give|strong="H5414" them to possess|strong="H3423" it.
32 Ye shall observe|strong="H8104" to do|strong="H6213" therefore as the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* your God|strong="H0430" hath commanded|strong="H6680" you: ye shall not turn aside|strong="H5493" to the right hand|strong="H3225" or to the left|strong="H8040".
33 Ye shall walk|strong="H3212" in all the ways|strong="H1870" which the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* your God|strong="H0430" hath commanded|strong="H6680" you, that ye may live|strong="H2421", and that it may be well|strong="H2895" with you, and that ye may prolong|strong="H0748" your days|strong="H3117" in the land|strong="H0776" which ye shall possess|strong="H3423".
