1 And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* said|strong="H0559" unto Samuel|strong="H8050", How long wilt thou mourn|strong="H0056" for Saul|strong="H7586", seeing I have rejected|strong="H3988" him from reigning|strong="H4427" over Israel|strong="H3478"? fill|strong="H4390" thine horn|strong="H7161" with oil|strong="H8081", and go|strong="H3212", I will send|strong="H7971" thee to Jesse|strong="H3448" the Beth-lehemite|strong="H1022": for I have provided|strong="H7200" me a king|strong="H4428" among his sons|strong="H1121".
1 O Senhor disse a Samuel: "Até quando você irá se entristecer por causa de Saul? Eu o rejeitei como rei de Israel. Encha um chifre com óleo e vá a Belém; eu o enviarei a Jessé. Escolhi um de seus filhos para ser rei".
2 And Samuel|strong="H8050" said|strong="H0559", How can I go|strong="H3212"? if Saul|strong="H7586" hear|strong="H8085" it, he will kill|strong="H2026" me. And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* said|strong="H0559", Take|strong="H3947" an heifer|strong="H1241" with thee|strong="H3027", and say|strong="H0559", I am come|strong="H0935" to sacrifice|strong="H2076" to the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.
2 Samuel, porém, disse: "Como poderei ir? Saul saberá disto e me matará". O Senhor disse: "Leve um novilho com você e diga que foi sacrificar ao Senhor.
3 And call|strong="H7121" Jesse|strong="H3448" to the sacrifice|strong="H2077", and I will shew|strong="H3045" thee what thou shalt do|strong="H6213": and thou shalt anoint|strong="H4886" unto me him whom I name|strong="H0559" unto thee.
3 Convide Jessé para o sacrifício, e eu lhe mostrarei o que fazer. Você irá ungir para mim aquele que eu indicar".
4 And Samuel|strong="H8050" did|strong="H6213" that which the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* spake|strong="H1696", and came|strong="H0935" to Beth-lehem|strong="H1035". And the elders|strong="H2205" of the town|strong="H5892" trembled|strong="H2729" at his coming|strong="H7125", and said|strong="H0559", Comest|strong="H0935" thou peaceably|strong="H7965"?
4 Samuel fez o que o Senhor disse. Quando chegou a Belém, as autoridades da cidade foram encontrar-se com ele tremendo e perguntaram: "Você vem em paz? "
5 And he said|strong="H0559", Peaceably|strong="H7965": I am come|strong="H0935" to sacrifice|strong="H2076" unto the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*: sanctify|strong="H6942" yourselves, and come|strong="H0935" with me to the sacrifice|strong="H2077". And he sanctified|strong="H6942" Jesse|strong="H3448" and his sons|strong="H1121", and called|strong="H7121" them to the sacrifice|strong="H2077".
5 Respondeu Samuel: "Sim, venho em paz; vim sacrificar ao Senhor. Consagrem-se e venham ao sacrifício comigo". Então ele consagrou Jessé e os filhos dele e os convidou para o sacrifício.
6 And it came to pass, when they were come|strong="H0935", that he looked|strong="H7200" on Eliab|strong="H0446", and said|strong="H0559", Surely the \+w LORD’s|strong="H3068"\+w* anointed|strong="H4899" is before him.
6 Quando chegaram, Samuel viu Eliabe e pensou: "Com certeza este aqui é o que o Senhor quer ungir".
7 But the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* said|strong="H0559" unto Samuel|strong="H8050", Look|strong="H5027" not on his countenance|strong="H4758", or on the height|strong="H1364" of his stature|strong="H6967"; because I have refused|strong="H3988" him: for the \+nd Lord\+nd* seeth not as man|strong="H0120" seeth|strong="H7200"; for man|strong="H0120" looketh|strong="H7200" on the outward appearance|strong="H5869", but the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* looketh|strong="H7200" on the heart|strong="H3824".
7 O Senhor, contudo, disse a Samuel: "Não considere a sua aparência nem sua altura, pois eu o rejeitei. O Senhor não vê como o homem: o homem vê a aparência, mas o Senhor vê o coração".
8 Then Jesse|strong="H3448" called|strong="H7121" Abinadab|strong="H0041", and made him pass|strong="H5674" before|strong="H6440" Samuel|strong="H8050". And he said|strong="H0559", Neither hath the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* chosen|strong="H0977" this.
8 Então Jessé chamou Abinadabe e o levou a Samuel. Ele, porém, disse: "O Senhor também não escolheu a este".
9 Then Jesse|strong="H3448" made Shammah|strong="H8048" to pass by|strong="H5674". And he said|strong="H0559", Neither hath the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* chosen|strong="H0977" this.
9 Então Jessé levou Samá a Samuel, mas este disse: "Também não foi este que o Senhor escolheu".
10 Again, Jesse|strong="H3448" made seven|strong="H7651" of his sons|strong="H1121" to pass|strong="H5674" before|strong="H6440" Samuel|strong="H8050". And Samuel|strong="H8050" said|strong="H0559" unto Jesse|strong="H3448", The \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* hath not chosen|strong="H0977" these.
10 Jessé levou a Samuel sete de seus filhos, mas Samuel lhe disse: "O Senhor não escolheu nenhum destes".
11 And Samuel|strong="H8050" said|strong="H0559" unto Jesse|strong="H3448", Are here all|strong="H8552" thy children|strong="H5288"? And he said|strong="H0559", There remaineth|strong="H7604" yet the youngest|strong="H6996", and, behold, he keepeth|strong="H7462" the sheep|strong="H6629". And Samuel|strong="H8050" said|strong="H0559" unto Jesse|strong="H3448", Send|strong="H7971" and fetch|strong="H3947" him: for we will not sit down|strong="H5437" till he come|strong="H0935" hither|strong="H6311".
11 Então perguntou a Jessé: "Estes são todos os filhos que você tem? " Jessé respondeu: "Ainda tenho o caçula, mas ele está cuidando das ovelhas". Samuel disse: "Traga-o aqui; não nos sentaremos para comer até que ele chegue".
12 And he sent|strong="H7971", and brought him in|strong="H0935". Now he was ruddy|strong="H0132", and withal|strong="H5973" of a beautiful|strong="H3303" countenance|strong="H5869", and goodly|strong="H2896" to look to|strong="H7210". And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* said|strong="H0559", Arise|strong="H6965", anoint|strong="H4886" him: for this is he.
12 Então Jessé mandou chamá-lo e ele veio. Ele era ruivo, de belos olhos e boa aparência. Então o Senhor disse a Samuel: "É este! Levante-se e unja-o".
13 Then Samuel|strong="H8050" took|strong="H3947" the horn|strong="H7161" of oil|strong="H8081", and anointed|strong="H4886" him in the midst|strong="H7130" of his brethren|strong="H0251": and the Spirit|strong="H7307" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* came|strong="H6743" upon David|strong="H1732" from that day|strong="H3117" forward|strong="H4605". So Samuel|strong="H8050" rose up|strong="H6965", and went|strong="H3212" to Ramah|strong="H7414".
13 Samuel então apanhou o chifre cheio de óleo e o ungiu na presença de seus irmãos, e a partir daquele dia o Espírito do Senhor apoderou-se de Davi. E Samuel voltou para Ramá.
14 But the Spirit|strong="H7307" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* departed|strong="H5493" from Saul|strong="H7586", and an evil|strong="H7451" spirit|strong="H7307" from the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* troubled|strong="H1204" him.
14 O Espírito do Senhor se retirou de Saul, e um espírito maligno, vindo da parte do Senhor, o atormentava.
15 And Saul’s|strong="H7586" servants|strong="H5650" said|strong="H0559" unto him, Behold now, an evil|strong="H7451" spirit|strong="H7307" from God|strong="H0430" troubleth|strong="H1204" thee.
15 Os funcionários de Saul lhe disseram: "Há um espírito maligno mandado por Deus te atormentando.
16 Let our lord|strong="H0113" now command|strong="H0559" thy servants|strong="H5650", which are before|strong="H6440" thee, to seek out|strong="H1245" a man|strong="H0376", who is a cunning|strong="H3045" player|strong="H5059" on an harp|strong="H3658": and it shall come to pass, when the evil|strong="H7451" spirit|strong="H7307" from God|strong="H0430" is upon thee, that he shall play|strong="H5059" with his hand|strong="H3027", and thou shalt be well|strong="H2895".
16 Que nosso soberano mande estes seus servos procurar um homem que saiba tocar a harpa. Quando o espírito maligno se apoderar de ti, o homem tocará a harpa e tu te sentirás melhor".
17 And Saul|strong="H7586" said|strong="H0559" unto his servants|strong="H5650", Provide|strong="H7200" me now a man|strong="H0376" that can play|strong="H5059" well|strong="H3190", and bring|strong="H0935" him to me.
17 E Saul respondeu aos que o serviam: "Encontrem alguém que toque bem e o tragam até aqui".
18 Then answered|strong="H6030" one|strong="H0259" of the servants|strong="H5288", and said|strong="H0559", Behold, I have seen|strong="H7200" a son|strong="H1121" of Jesse|strong="H3448" the Beth-lehemite|strong="H1022", that is cunning|strong="H3045" in playing|strong="H5059", and a mighty|strong="H1368" valiant man|strong="H2428", and a man|strong="H0376" of war|strong="H4421", and prudent|strong="H0995" in matters|strong="H1697", and a comely|strong="H8389" person|strong="H0376", and the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* is with him.
18 Um dos funcionários respondeu: "Conheço um dos filhos de Jessé, de Belém, que sabe tocar harpa. É um guerreiro valente, sabe falar bem, tem boa aparência e o Senhor está com ele".
19 Wherefore Saul|strong="H7586" sent|strong="H7971" messengers|strong="H4397" unto Jesse|strong="H3448", and said|strong="H0559", Send|strong="H7971" me David|strong="H1732" thy son|strong="H1121", which is with the sheep|strong="H6629".
19 Então Saul mandou mensageiros a Jessé com a seguinte mensagem: "Envie-me seu filho Davi, que cuida das ovelhas".
20 And Jesse|strong="H3448" took|strong="H3947" an ass|strong="H2543" laden with bread|strong="H3899", and a bottle|strong="H4997" of wine|strong="H3196", and a|strong="H0259" kid|strong="H1423", and sent|strong="H7971" them by|strong="H3027" David|strong="H1732" his son|strong="H1121" unto Saul|strong="H7586".
20 Jessé apanhou um jumento e o carregou de pães, uma vasilha de couro cheia de vinho e um cabrito e o enviou a Saul por meio de Davi, seu filho.
21 And David|strong="H1732" came|strong="H0935" to Saul|strong="H7586", and stood|strong="H5975" before|strong="H6440" him: and he loved|strong="H0157" him greatly|strong="H3966"; and he became his armourbearer|strong="H5375".
21 Davi foi apresentar-se a Saul e passou a trabalhar para ele. Saul gostou muito dele, e Davi tornou-se seu escudeiro.
22 And Saul|strong="H7586" sent|strong="H7971" to Jesse|strong="H3448", saying|strong="H0559", Let David|strong="H1732", I pray thee, stand|strong="H5975" before|strong="H6440" me; for he hath found|strong="H4672" favour|strong="H2580" in my sight|strong="H5869".
22 Então Saul enviou a seguinte mensagem a Jessé: "Deixe que Davi continue trabalhando para mim, pois estou satisfeito com ele".
23 And it came to pass, when the evil spirit|strong="H7307" from God|strong="H0430" was upon Saul|strong="H7586", that David|strong="H1732" took|strong="H3947" an harp|strong="H3658", and played|strong="H5059" with his hand|strong="H3027": so Saul|strong="H7586" was refreshed|strong="H7304", and was well|strong="H2895", and the evil|strong="H7451" spirit|strong="H7307" departed|strong="H5493" from him.
23 E sempre que o espírito mandado por Deus se apoderava de Saul, Davi apanhava sua harpa e tocava. Então Saul sentia alívio e melhorava, e o espírito maligno o deixava.
