1 Nɛ foesũ mifɔ̃ tɔkpa tidi nyɛ tidi odu kakɛna. Mifɔ̃ fɔvã kama mɔ anɛ kamɛ kɛkɛ fɔtsa kakɛna, mɔ anɛngbã mɔ bati buĩ kanyɛ.
1 Deponde, pois, toda malícia, toda astúcia, fingimentos, invejas e toda espécie de maledicência.
2 Miwɛ Baguma ɔnɔkɔali kalɛ a ndɛ ayekĩ akɔkɔa awɛ tɛmɛ mui luwi daa, ayekĩ míabo anɛ nɛ mi nkpã katɛ kamɛ.
2 as newborn babes desire earnestly the pure mental milk of the word, that by it ye may grow up to salvation,
3 Katsɛlɛ Kpalɛwa a lɛ kĩ, “Mi mɔawɛ mita onukpɛ̃ midã, mimɔ ayekĩ boe Ɔlate a deĩ sɛmɛ kalɛ.”
3 if indeed ye have tasted that the Lord {is} good.
4 Nɛ foesũ mifuã miya nɛ boe Ɔlate a sɛkɛ̃. Ade ye nyɛ nkpã kɔla kake de a kĩ bati sĩ kĩ lɛnyɛ fɔtsa pupulidza, lɛmɛ ade de Baguma nyɛ kĩ lɛtɛ kɔya nɛ ye anɛ a.

5 Mi malo mila ndɛ kɔla kake nkpã boe, foesũ miya Baguma ɛkɔa mi eke hũhũ kamɛ afɔliɛ kɔla. Ade kɔla kĩĩ kamɛ míasum ndɛ basɔfɔ kpalɛwa kĩ bɛbɔa hũhũ kamɛ afɔliɛ kĩ yawo Baguma anɛ bɛtsãmɛna Yesu Kristo akũ bɛkpa Baguma.
5 yourselves also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
6 Kitonɛkĩ Katsɛlɛ Kpalɛwa a lɛ kĩ,
6 Because it is contained in the scripture: Behold, I lay in Zion a corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believes on him shall not be put to shame.
7 Foesũ mi a kĩ mitɛ mido a ni, de kĩĩ tɛ kɔya paa lɛkpa mi, lɛmɛ bikĩ bɛtátɛ bido a kɔ̃ ni, binyi kĩ,
7 To you therefore who believe {is} the preciousness; but to the disobedient, the stone which the builders cast away as worthless, this is become head of {the} corner,
8 Katsɛlɛ Kpalɛwa a fɔlɛtsa bɛbã lɛmɛ lɛ kĩ,
8 and a stone of stumbling and rock of offence; {who} stumble at the word, being disobedient to which also they have been appointed.
9 Lɛmɛ mi kɔ̃ kade a kĩ Baguma pau, lɛgãkanya basɔfɔ, ɔmaĩ kpalɛwa, mɔ bati kĩ Baguma kɔa ɛkɛna ye bade mianɛ. Baguma vɛ mi etomɛna ɔtũ kamɛ ɛyamɛna nɛ ye awãwã ɔhaĩ a kamɛ, kĩ mide lɛtsã nɛ ye awãwã fɔtsa a akũ.
9 But *ye* {are} a chosen race, a kingly priesthood, a holy nation, a people for a possession, that ye might set forth the excellencies of him who has called you out of darkness to his wonderful light;
10 Nɛ lɔkɔ lidi kĩ lɛtɛ̃ kamɛ ni, mitánya Baguma ɔmaĩ, lɛmɛ finyaa minyɛ ye ɔmaĩ. Nɛ kɔkɔ lɔkɔ lidi kamɛ ni, Baguma támɔ mi kɔnya, lɛmɛ finyaa ɛmɔ mi kɔnya.
10 who once {were} not a people, but now God's people; who were not enjoying mercy, but now have found mercy.
11 Nwaɛ̃ amɛ bawɛnɛ, ndɛ banɔvɔɛ̃ mɔ basitsãnɛ nɛ katinya kĩĩ kamɛ ni, mitakɛna nɛ sukɛna fɔwɛtsa kpa a kĩ fɔakɔ odo kayidza kadza nɛ mi akũ a.
11 Beloved, I exhort {you}, as strangers and sojourners, to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
12 Mibɔa ɔbla wĩ nɛ amamufɔ a kamɛ, ayekĩ ntɛ bɛlɛ kɔdzɛla nɛ mi akũ kĩ tɔkpa bakɛnanɛ mianɛ malo ni, ke liti, baamɔ adzuma wĩ a kĩ mikɛna, lɔkɔa baamu Baguma nɛ ye kaya Luwi a akũ.
12 having your conversation honest among the Gentiles, that {as to that} in which they speak against you as evildoers, they may through {your} good works, {themselves} witnessing {them}, glorify God in {the} day of visitation.
13 Nɛ boe Ɔlate sũ ni, midɔla mi akũ mikpa batidziwa a kĩ bidzina nɛ mbla onukpɛ̃. Midɔla mi akũ mikpa Lɛgãnɔkɔɛ̃ Flefle a kĩ lideĩ otumi lɛbɛ̃ flee a.

14 Midɔla akũ lɔmɔ lɛmɛ mikpa abãã banɔkɔɛ̃ a kĩ Lɛgãnɔkɔɛ̃ a ado kĩ bɛyaavɛlɛ tɔkpa bakɛnanɛ a sɔtɔ, bimu bati a kĩ bakɛna tuwĩ a lɛmɛ.
14 or to rulers as sent by him, for vengeance on evildoers, and praise to them that do well.
15 Kitonɛkĩ Baguma kawɛ nyɛ kĩ mikɔa tuwĩ kakɛna midina fɔkɔasiatsa a kĩ bati alɛ nɛ mi akũ nɛ kadikatanyi kamɛ a.
15 Because so is the will of God, that by well-doing ye put to silence the ignorance of senseless men;
16 Midzi nkpã ndɛ bati kĩ bidzi be akũ akũ aye, lɛmɛ mitakɔa akũ akũ kadzi a mikɛna ndɛ tɔkpa kakɛna osi kana, mbom midzi nkpã ndɛ Baguma basate aye.
16 as free, and not as having liberty as a cloak of malice, but as God's bondmen.
17 Mikɔa obu mikpa odi nyɛ odi. Miwɛ mi bawaɛ̃ batɛ badonɛ kalɛ. Mivila Baguma. Mikɔa obu mikpa Lɛgãnɔkɔɛ̃ Flefle a lɛmɛ.
17 Shew honour to all, love the brotherhood, fear God, honour the king.
18 Mi basumunɛ, midɔla mi akũ mikpa mi balate, mikɔa obu flee mikpa be. Nnɛ́ mi balate a kĩ bɛdɔ, bideĩ sɛmɛ kalɛ a odi kɛnɛ kĩ miakpa obu, mbom mibu bikĩ bideĩ sɛmɛ ɔnyɛ a lɛmɛ.
18 Servants, {be} subject with all fear to your masters, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the ill-tempered.
19 Ntɛ odi lamɔ lubo a kĩ lɛtáfɛta kĩ ɛmɔ kamɔ, lɛmɛ nɛ Baguma sũ edo ɔwɔlɛ ɛmɔ lubo ni, Baguma aahila ye.
19 For this {is} acceptable, if one, for conscience sake towards God, endure griefs, suffering unjustly.
20 Ntɛ mikɛna fɔtsa kpa mɔ mido ɔwɔlɛ mitɛ sɔtɔ kavɛlɛ a ni, kamu kawɔdabe deĩ nɛ foe kamɛ? Lɛmɛ ntɛ mikɛna tuwĩ mɔ mido ɔwɔlɛ mimɔ́ lubo nɛ foe kamɛ ni, Baguma aahila mi.
20 For what glory {is it}, if sinning and being buffeted ye shall bear {it}? but if, doing good and suffering, ye shall bear {it}, this is acceptable with God.
21 Ade fukĩĩ sũ Baguma vɛ mi a, kitonɛkĩ Kristo mɔawɛ a malo mɔ́ lubo nɛ mi lɔlɔ, ɛkɔa foe ɛtsa mi nfantuhũ kĩ míatsã ye abɔa kakekɔ̃.
21 For to this have ye been called; for Christ also has suffered for you, leaving you a model that ye should follow in his steps:
22 “Ɛtákɛna tɔkpa tidima,
22 who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth;
23 Kĩ bivũna ye a, ɛtávũna odima ese kɔtɔ. Kĩ bɛmɔna ye lubo a, ɛtáhũnahũna odima, mbom ɛkɔa anɛ ete nɛ Baguma a kĩ yadzɛ fɔlɛtsa nɛ osi kpĩĩ akũ a akũ.
23 who, {when} reviled, reviled not again; {when} suffering, threatened not; but gave {himself} over into the hands of him who judges righteously;
24 Kristo mɔawɛ lɛlɔ boe tɔkpa nɛ ye sukɛna kamɛ ɛnamɛna asendua a akũ, ayekĩ bɔ́anɛ nɛ tɔkpa kɔbɛ̃ kayɔ, budzi nkpã bɔkɛna tuwĩ. Ɛkɔa fɔɔkpa a kĩ ɛtɛ a ɛtsa mi fɔsɔ.
24 who himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, in order that, being dead to sins, we may live to righteousness: by whose stripes ye have been healed.
25 Kɔkɔɛ a, mina ndɛ baveli kĩ bɛyɛla osi, lɛmɛ finyaa Baguma muniki mi miya nɛ mi Baveli Ɔkpãnɛ kĩ ɛnyɛ mi Akũ Ɔdãmɛnanɛ sɛkɛ̃.
25 For ye were going astray as sheep, but have now returned to the shepherd and overseer of your souls.
