1 Why do You stand afar off, O Jehovah? Will You hide in times of distress?
1 Por que, Senhor , te conservas longe? Por que te escondes nas horas de angústia?
2 The wicked in his pride persecutes the lowly; let them be caught in the plots that they have devised.
2 Com arrogância, os ímpios perseguem os pobres; que eles sejam apanhados nas ciladas que armaram!
3 For the wicked boasts of his hearts desire, and blesses those who plunder, whom Jehovah has spurned.
3 Pois o perverso se gloria da sua própria cobiça, o avarento maldiz o e blasfema contra ele.
4 Through the pride of his countenance the wicked do not seek after God; God is not in all his schemes.
4 Em sua soberba, o perverso não investiga; tudo o que ele pensa é que Deus não existe.
5 His ways are always twisted; Your judgments are high, out of his sight. As for all his enemies, he snorts at them.
5 São prósperos os caminhos dele em todo tempo; muito acima e longe dele estão os teus juízos; quanto aos seus adversários, ele a todos trata com desprezo.
6 He has said in his heart, I shall not be moved; from generation to generation I shall not be in adversity!
6 Pois lá no seu íntimo diz: “Jamais serei abalado; de geração em geração, nenhum mal me sobrevirá.”
7 His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and oppression; under his tongue are trouble and wickedness.
7 A sua boca está cheia de maldição, enganos e opressão; debaixo da língua ele tem insulto e maldade.
8 He sits in the lurking places of the villages; in the secret places he murders the innocent; his eyes are hidden against the unfortunate ones.
8 Põe-se de tocaia nas aldeias, trucida os inocentes nos lugares ocultos; seus olhos espreitam o desamparado.
9 He lies in wait secretly, like a lion in his den. He lies in wait to catch the poor; he catches the poor when he draws him into his net.
9 Ele se põe de emboscada, como o leão na sua caverna; está de emboscada para enlaçar o pobre: apanha-o e o arrasta com a sua rede.
10 He lies low and crouches, and the poor unfortunate ones have fallen by his might.
10 Abaixa-se, rasteja; nas suas garras caem os necessitados.
11 He has said in his heart, the Mighty God has forgotten; He hides His face; He will never see it!
11 Diz ele, no seu íntimo: “Deus se esqueceu, virou o rosto e nunca verá isto.”
12 Arise, O Jehovah! O Mighty God, lift up Your hand! Forget not the lowly poor.
12 Levanta-te, Senhor ! Ó Deus, ergue a tua mão! Não te esqueças dos pobres.
13 Why have the wicked spurned God? He has said in his heart, You will not investigate.
13 Por que o ímpio despreza Deus, dizendo no seu íntimo que Deus não lhe pedirá contas?
14 But You have seen it, for You pay attention to trouble and provocation; to repay it with Your hand. The poor commits himself to You; You are the Helper of the fatherless.
14 Tu, porém, tens visto isso, porque atentas ao sofrimento e à dor, para que os possas tomar em tuas mãos. A ti se entrega o desamparado; tu tens sido o defensor do órfão.
15 Break the arm of the wicked and the evil one; investigate his wickedness, until You find no more.
15 Quebra o braço do perverso e do malvado; pede contas da sua maldade, até que a descubras de todo.
16 Jehovah is King forever and ever; the nations have perished out of His land.
16 O Senhor é rei eterno: da sua terra somem as nações.
17 Jehovah, You have heard the desire of the lowly; You will prepare their heart, You will cause Your ear to hear,
17 Tens ouvido, Senhor , o desejo dos humildes; tu lhes firmarás o coração e ouvirás o seu clamor,
18 to vindicate the fatherless and the oppressed, so that the man of the earth may terrify no more.
18 para fazeres justiça ao órfão e ao oprimido, a fim de que o ser humano, que é da terra, não volte a espalhar o terror.
