1 After some days He entered Capernaum again, and it soon became known that He was at home;
1 E, novamente, ele entrou em Cafarnaum depois de alguns dias, e divulgou-se que ele estava na casa.
2 and such numbers of people came together that there was no longer room for them even round the door. He was speaking His Message to them,
2 E imediatamente muitos se reuniram, de modo que não havia lugar para recebê-los, nem mesmo diante da porta; e ele lhes pregava a palavra.
3 when there came a party of people bringing a paralytic–four men carrying him.
3 E vieram até ele, trazendo um paralítico, que era carregado por quatro.
4 Finding themselves unable, however, to bring him to Jesus because of the crowd, they untiled the roof just over His head, and after clearing an opening they lowered the mat on which the paralytic was lying.
4 E, eles não podendo aproximar-se dele, por causa da multidão, destaparam o telhado onde estava; e, fazendo uma abertura, eles baixaram o leito onde estava deitado o paralítico.
5 Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralytic, »My son, your sins are pardoned.«
5 E Jesus vendo a fé deles, disse ao paralítico: Filho, teus pecados estão perdoados.
6 Now there were some of the Scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts.
6 Mas estavam ali assentados alguns escribas, que argumentavam em seus corações:
7 »Why does this man use such words?« they said; »he is blaspheming. Who can pardon sins but One–that is, God?«
7 Por que fala este homem blasfêmias? Quem pode perdoar pecados, senão Deus?
8 At once perceiving by His spirit that they were reasoning within themselves, Jesus asked them, »Why do you thus argue in your minds?
8 E imediatamente quando Jesus percebeu em seu espírito que argumentavam entre si, disse-lhes: Por que argumentais sobre estas coisas em vossos corações?
9 Which is easier?–to say to this paralytic, `Your sins are pardoned,' or to say, `Rise, take up your mat, and walk?'
9 O que é mais fácil dizer ao paralítico: Teus pecados estão perdoados; ou dizer: Levanta-te, e toma o teu leito, e anda?
10 But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to pardon sins« –He turned to the paralytic, and said,
10 Mas para que possas saber que o Filho do homem tem na terra poder para perdoar pecados (ele disse ao paralítico),
11 »To you I say, `Rise, take up your mat and go home.'«
11 a ti te digo: Levanta-te, toma o teu leito, e vai pelo teu caminho para a tua casa.
12 The man rose, and immediately under the eyes of all took up his mat and went out, so that they were all filled with astonishment, gave the glory to God, and said, »We never saw anything like this.«
12 E, imediatamente, ele se levantou, tomou o leito e saiu à vista de todos; de modo que todos se maravilharam e glorificaram a Deus, dizendo: Nós nunca vimos algo assim!
13 Again He went out to the shore of the Lake, and the whole multitude kept coming to Him, and He taught them.
13 E ele saiu outra vez para a beira do mar; e toda a multidão ia ter com ele, e ele os ensinava.
14 And as He passed by, He saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the Toll Office, and said to him, »Follow me.« So he rose and followed Him.
14 E, enquanto ele passava, viu Levi, filho de Alfeu, sentado na coletoria, e disse-lhe: Segue-me. E ele, levantando-se, o seguiu.
15 When He was sitting at table in Levi's house, a large number of tax-gatherers and notorious sinners were at table with Jesus and His disciples; for there were many such who habitually followed Him.
15 E aconteceu que, quando Jesus reclinou-se para comer em sua casa, muitos publicanos e pecadores reclinaram-se também junto com Jesus e seus discípulos; porquanto eram muitos, e eles o seguiam.
16 But when the Scribes of the Pharisee sect saw Him eating with the sinners and the tax-gatherers, they said to His disciples, »He is eating and drinking with the tax-gatherers and sinners!«
16 E quando os escribas e fariseus viram-no comendo com publicanos e pecadores, disseram aos seus discípulos: Por que ele come e bebe com publicanos e pecadores?
17 Jesus heard the words, and He said, »It is not the healthy who require a doctor, but the sick: I did not come to appeal to the righteous, but to sinners.«
17 E Jesus ouvindo isto, disse-lhes: Os sãos não necessitam de médico, mas os que estão enfermos; eu não vim para chamar os justos, mas os pecadores ao arrependimento.
18 (Now John's disciples and those of the Pharisees were keeping a fast.) And they came and asked Him, »How is it that John's disciples and those of the Pharisees are fasting, and yours are not?«
18 E os discípulos de João e os fariseus jejuavam; e vieram e disseram-lhe: Por que jejuam os discípulos de João e os dos fariseus, mas os teus discípulos não jejuam?
19 »Can a wedding party fast while the bridegroom is among them?« replied Jesus. »So long as they have the bridegroom with them, fasting is impossible.
19 E respondeu-lhes Jesus: Podem os convidados do noivo jejuar enquanto o noivo está com eles? Enquanto eles têm consigo o noivo, não podem jejuar.
20 But a time will come when the Bridegroom will be taken away from them; then they will fast.
20 Mas dias virão em que lhes será tirado o noivo, e então hão de jejuar naqueles dias.
21 No one mends an old garment with a piece of unshrunk cloth. Otherwise, the patch put on would tear away from it– the new from the old– and a worse hole would be made.
21 Nenhum homem põe um pedaço de pano novo em roupa velha, do contrário o remendo novo rompe o velho, e faz-se maior o rasgo.
22 And no one pours new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise the wine would burst the skins, and both wine and skins would be lost. New wine needs fresh skins!«
22 E nenhum homem põe vinho novo em odres velhos; do contrário o vinho novo rompe os odres, e o vinho se derrama, e os odres se perdem; mas vinho novo deve ser colocado dentro de odres novos.
23 One Sabbath He was walking through the wheatfields when His disciples began to pluck the ears of wheat as they went.
23 E aconteceu que ele passou entre os campos de trigo no dia do shabat; e os seus discípulos começaram, enquanto eles iam, a arrancar espigas de trigo.
24 So the Pharisees said to Him, »Look! why are they doing what on the Sabbath is unlawful?«
24 E os fariseus lhe disseram: Vê, por que eles estão fazendo no dia do shabat o que não é lícito?
25 »Have you never read,« Jesus replied, »what David did when the necessity arose and he and his men were hungry:
25 Mas ele disse-lhes: Nunca lestes o que fez Davi, quando teve necessidade e estava faminto, ele e os que com ele estavam?
26 how he entered the house of God in the High-priesthood of Abiathar, and ate the Presented Loaves –which none but the priests are allowed to eat– and gave some to his men also?«
26 Como entrou na casa de Deus, nos dias de Abiatar, sumo sacerdote, e comeu os pães da proposição, dos quais não era lícito comer senão aos sacerdotes, e deu também aos que com ele estavam?
27 And Jesus said to them: »The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath;
27 E disse-lhes: O shabat foi feito para o homem, e não o homem para o shabat.
28 so that the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.«
28 Portanto o Filho do homem é Senhor também do shabat.
