1 And as for myself, brethren, I found it impossible to speak to you as spiritual men. It had to be as to worldlings–mere babes in Christ.
1 Irmãos, não lhes pude falar como a espirituais, mas como a carnais, como a crianças em Cristo.
2 I fed you with milk and not with solid food, since for this you were not yet strong enough. And even now you are not strong enough:
2 Dei-lhes leite, e não alimento sólido, pois vocês não estavam em condições de recebê-lo. De fato, vocês ainda não estão em condições,
3 you are still unspiritual. For so long as jealousy and strife continue among you, can it be denied that you are unspiritual and are living and acting like mere men of the world?
3 porque ainda são carnais. Porque, visto que há inveja e divisão entre vocês, não estão sendo carnais e agindo como mundanos?
4 For when some one says, »I belong to Paul,« and another says, »I belong to Apollos,« is not this the way men of the world speak?
4 Pois quando alguém diz: "Eu sou de Paulo", e outro: "Eu sou de Apolo", não estão sendo mundanos?
5 What then is Apollos? And what is Paul? They are just God's servants, through whose efforts, and as the Lord granted power to each, you accepted the faith.
5 Afinal de contas, quem é Apolo? Quem é Paulo? Apenas servos por meio dos quais vocês vieram a crer, conforme o ministério que o Senhor atribuiu a cada um.
6 I planted and Apollos watered; but it was God who was, all the time, giving the increase.
6 Eu plantei, Apolo regou, mas Deus é quem fazia crescer;
7 So that neither the planter nor the waterer is of any importance. God who gives the increase is all in all.
7 de modo que nem o que planta nem o que rega são alguma coisa, mas unicamente Deus, que efetua o crescimento.
8 Now in aim and purpose the planter and the waterer are one; and yet each will receive his own special reward, answering to his own special work.
8 O que planta e o que rega têm um só propósito, e cada um será recompensado de acordo com o seu próprio trabalho.
9 Apollos and I are simply fellow workers for and with God, and you are God's field– God's building.
9 Pois nós somos cooperadores de Deus; vocês são lavoura de Deus e edifício de Deus.
10 In discharge of the task which God graciously entrusted to me, I –like a competent master-builder– have laid a foundation, and others are building upon it. But let every one be careful how and what he builds.
10 Conforme a graça de Deus que me foi concedida, eu, como sábio construtor, lancei o alicerce, e outro está construindo sobre ele. Contudo, veja cada um como constrói.
11 For no one can lay any other foundation in addition to that which is already laid, namely Jesus Christ.
11 Porque ninguém pode colocar outro alicerce além do que já está posto, que é Jesus Cristo.
12 And whether the building which any one is erecting on that foundation be of gold or silver or costly stones, of timber or hay or straw–
12 Se alguém constrói sobre esse alicerce, usando ouro, prata, pedras preciosas, madeira, feno ou palha,
13 the true character of each individual's work will become manifest. For the day of Christ will disclose it, because that day is soon to come upon us clothed in fire, and as for the quality of every one's work– the fire is the thing which will test it.
13 sua obra será mostrada, porque o Dia a trará à luz; pois será revelada pelo fogo, que provará a qualidade da obra de cada um.
14 If any one's work –the building which he has erected– stands the test, he will be rewarded.
14 Se o que alguém construiu permanecer, esse receberá recompensa.
15 If any one's work is burnt up, he will suffer the loss of it; yet he will himself be rescued, but only, as it were, by passing through the fire.
15 Se o que alguém construiu se queimar, esse sofrerá prejuízo; contudo, será salvo como alguém que escapa através do fogo.
16 Do you not know that you are God's Sanctuary, and that the Spirit of God has His home within you?
16 Vocês não sabem que são santuário de Deus e que o Espírito de Deus habita em vocês?
17 If any one is marring the Sanctuary of God, him will God mar; for the Sanctuary of God is holy, which you all are.
17 Se alguém destruir o santuário de Deus, Deus o destruirá; pois o santuário de Deus, que são vocês, é sagrado.
18 Let no one deceive himself. If any man imagines that he is wise, compared with the rest of you, with the wisdom of the present age, let him become »foolish« so that he may be wise.
18 Não se enganem. Se algum de vocês pensa que é sábio segundo os padrões desta era, deve tornar-se "louco" para que se torne sábio.
19 This world's wisdom is »foolishness« in God's sight; for it is written, »He snares the wise with their own cunning.«
19 Porque a sabedoria deste mundo é loucura aos olhos de Deus. Pois está escrito: "Ele apanha os sábios na astúcia deles";
20 And again, »The Lord takes knowledge of the reasonings of the wise–how useless they are.«
20 e também: "O Senhor conhece os pensamentos dos sábios e sabe como são fúteis".
21 Therefore let no one boast about his human teachers.
21 Portanto, ninguém se glorie em homens; porque todas as coisas são de vocês,
22 For everything belongs to you –be it Paul or Apollos or Peter, the world or life or death, things present or future– everything belongs to you;
22 seja Paulo, seja Apolo, seja Pedro, seja o mundo, a vida, a morte, o presente ou o futuro; tudo é de vocês,
23 and you belong to Christ, and Christ belongs to God.
23 e vocês são de Cristo, e Cristo, de Deus.
