1 And as for myself, brethren, I found it impossible to speak to you as spiritual men. It had to be as to worldlings–mere babes in Christ.
1 E eu, irmãos, não pude falar a vós como a espirituais, mas como a carnais, como a bebês em Cristo.
2 I fed you with milk and not with solid food, since for this you were not yet strong enough. And even now you are not strong enough:
2 Eu alimentei-vos com leite e não com alimento sólido, porque até agora não fostes capazes de suportar, nem mesmo agora sois capazes.
3 you are still unspiritual. For so long as jealousy and strife continue among you, can it be denied that you are unspiritual and are living and acting like mere men of the world?
3 Porque ainda sois carnais, pois, havendo entre vós inveja, contendas e divisões, não sois carnais e andais como os homens?
4 For when some one says, »I belong to Paul,« and another says, »I belong to Apollos,« is not this the way men of the world speak?
4 Porque enquanto um diz: Eu sou de Paulo; e outro: Eu sou de Apolo; não sois carnais?
5 What then is Apollos? And what is Paul? They are just God's servants, through whose efforts, and as the Lord granted power to each, you accepted the faith.
5 Quem, então, é Paulo, e quem é Apolo, senão ministros pelos quais crestes, conforme o Senhor deu a cada homem?
6 I planted and Apollos watered; but it was God who was, all the time, giving the increase.
6 Eu tenho plantado, Apolo regado; mas Deus dá o crescimento.
7 So that neither the planter nor the waterer is of any importance. God who gives the increase is all in all.
7 Assim então, nem o que planta é alguma coisa, nem o que rega, mas Deus, que dá o crescimento.
8 Now in aim and purpose the planter and the waterer are one; and yet each will receive his own special reward, answering to his own special work.
8 Ora, o que planta e o que rega são um; e cada homem receberá a sua própria recompensa, de acordo com o seu próprio trabalho.
9 Apollos and I are simply fellow workers for and with God, and you are God's field– God's building.
9 Porque nós somos colaboradores de Deus; Vós sois lavoura de Deus e edifício de Deus.
10 In discharge of the task which God graciously entrusted to me, I –like a competent master-builder– have laid a foundation, and others are building upon it. But let every one be careful how and what he builds.
10 Segundo a graça de Deus que me é dada, como sábio mestre de obras, eu pus a fundação, e outro edifica sobre ele; mas cada homem fique atento como se edifica sobre ele.
11 For no one can lay any other foundation in addition to that which is already laid, namely Jesus Christ.
11 Porque nenhum outro fundamento pode alguém lançar além do que já está posto, o qual é Jesus Cristo.
12 And whether the building which any one is erecting on that foundation be of gold or silver or costly stones, of timber or hay or straw–
12 Agora, se algum homem sobre este fundamento edificar, de ouro, prata, pedras preciosas, madeira, feno, restolho,
13 the true character of each individual's work will become manifest. For the day of Christ will disclose it, because that day is soon to come upon us clothed in fire, and as for the quality of every one's work– the fire is the thing which will test it.
13 a obra de cada homem se manifestará; pois o dia a declarará, porque esta será revelada pelo fogo; e o fogo provará o tipo da obra de cada homem.
14 If any one's work –the building which he has erected– stands the test, he will be rewarded.
14 Se a obra que algum homem edificou permanecer, ele receberá uma recompensa.
15 If any one's work is burnt up, he will suffer the loss of it; yet he will himself be rescued, but only, as it were, by passing through the fire.
15 Se a obra de algum homem for consumida, ele sofrerá perda; mas ainda assim, ele será salvo, como pelo fogo.
16 Do you not know that you are God's Sanctuary, and that the Spirit of God has His home within you?
16 Não sabeis vós que sois o templo de Deus, e que o Espírito de Deus habita em vós?
17 If any one is marring the Sanctuary of God, him will God mar; for the Sanctuary of God is holy, which you all are.
17 Se algum homem corromper o templo de Deus, Deus o destruirá; porque o templo de Deus é santo, e este templo sois vós.
18 Let no one deceive himself. If any man imagines that he is wise, compared with the rest of you, with the wisdom of the present age, let him become »foolish« so that he may be wise.
18 Nenhum homem se engane a si mesmo; se algum homem dentre vós parecer ser sábio neste mundo, torne-se louco para poder ser sábio.
19 This world's wisdom is »foolishness« in God's sight; for it is written, »He snares the wise with their own cunning.«
19 Porque a sabedoria deste mundo é loucura diante de Deus; porque está escrito: Ele apanha os sábios na sua própria astúcia.
20 And again, »The Lord takes knowledge of the reasonings of the wise–how useless they are.«
20 E outra vez: O Senhor conhece os pensamentos dos sábios, que são vãos.
21 Therefore let no one boast about his human teachers.
21 Portanto, nenhum homem se glorie em homens; porque todas as coisas são vossas;
22 For everything belongs to you –be it Paul or Apollos or Peter, the world or life or death, things present or future– everything belongs to you;
22 quer Paulo, ou Apolo, ou Cefas, ou o mundo, ou a vida, ou a morte, ou as coisas do presente, ou as coisas vindouras, tudo é vosso,
23 and you belong to Christ, and Christ belongs to God.
23 e vós sois de Cristo, e Cristo é de Deus.
