1 Rebuke not an elder, but exhort him as a father, the younger men as brethren;
1 NÃO repreendas asperamente o ancião, mas admoesta-o como a pai; aos moços como a irmãos;
2 The elder women as mothers, the younger as sisters, with all purity.
2 As mulheres idosas, como a mães, às moças, como a irmãs, em toda a pureza.
3 Honour widows that are widows indeed. But if any widow have children or grand children, let these learn first to shew piety at home,
3 Honra as viúvas que verdadeiramente são viúvas.
4 and to requite their parents; for this is good and acceptable before God.
4 Mas, se alguma viúva tiver filhos, ou netos, aprendam primeiro a exercer piedade para com a sua própria família, e a recompensar seus pais; porque isto é bom e agradável diante de Deus.
5 Now she that is a widow indeed and desolate, trusteth in God and continueth in supplications and prayers night and day.
5 Ora, a que é verdadeiramente viúva e desamparada espera em Deus, e persevera de noite e de dia em rogos e orações;
6 But she that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth.
6 Mas a que vive em deleites, vivendo está morta.
7 And enjoin these things, that they may be blameless.
7 Manda, pois, estas coisas, para que elas sejam irrepreensíveis.
8 But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own family, he hath denied the faith and is worse than an infidel.
8 Mas, se alguém não tem cuidado dos seus, e principalmente dos da sua família, negou a fé, e é pior do que o infiel.
9 Let not a widow be chosen under threescore years old,
9 Nunca seja inscrita viúva com menos de sessenta anos, e só a que tenha sido mulher de um só marido;
10 having been the wife of one husband, Well reported of for good works, if she hath brought up children, if she hath lodged strangers, if she hath washed the feet of the saints, if she hath relieved the afflicted, if she hath diligently followed every good work.
10 Tendo testemunho de boas obras: Se criou os filhos, se exercitou hospitalidade, se lavou os pés aos santos, se socorreu os aflitos, se praticou toda a boa obra.
11 But the younger widows refuse; for when they are waxed wanton against Christ, they want to marry;
11 Mas não admitas as viúvas mais novas, porque, quando se tornam levianas contra Cristo, querem casar-se;
12 Having condemnation, because they have rejected their first faith.
12 Tendo já a sua condenação por haverem aniquilado a primeira fé.
13 And withal they learn to be idle, going about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers and busy bodies, speaking what they ought not.
13 E, além disto, aprendem também a andar ociosas de casa em casa; e não só ociosas, mas também paroleiras e curiosas, falando o que não convém.
14 I counsel therefore the younger women to marry, bear children, guide the family, give no occasion of reproach to the adversary.
14 Quero, pois, que as que são moças se casem, gerem filhos, governem a casa, e não dêem ocasião ao adversário de maldizer;
15 For some are already turned aside after Satan.
15 Porque já algumas se desviaram, indo após Satanás.
16 If any believing man or woman hath widows, let them relieve them; and let not the church be burthened, that it may relieve them that are widows indeed.
16 Se algum crente ou alguma crente tem viúvas, socorra-as, e não se sobrecarregue a igreja, para que se possam sustentar as que deveras são viúvas.
17 Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially those who labour in the word and teaching.
17 Os presbíteros que governam bem sejam estimados por dignos de duplicada honra, principalmente os que trabalham na palavra e na doutrina;
18 For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn: and, The labourer is worthy of his reward.
18 Porque diz a Escritura: Não ligarás a boca ao boi que debulha. E: Digno é o obreiro do seu salário.
19 Against an elder receive not an accusation, unless by two or three witnesses.
19 Não aceites acusação contra o presbítero, senão com duas ou três testemunhas.
20 Those that sin, rebuke before all, that the rest may fear.
20 Aos que pecarem, repreende-os na presença de todos, para que também os outros tenham temor.
21 I charge thee before God and the Lord Jesus Christ and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without prejudging, doing nothing by partiality.
21 Conjuro-te diante de Deus, e do Senhor Jesus Cristo, e dos anjos eleitos, que sem prevenção guardes estas coisas, nada fazendo por parcialidade.
22 Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither partake of other mens sins; keep thyself pure.
22 A ninguém imponhas precipitadamente as mãos, nem participes dos pecados alheios; conserva-te a ti mesmo puro.
23 Drink water no longer, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thy frequent infirmities.
23 Não bebas mais água só, mas usa de um pouco de vinho, por causa do teu estômago e das tuas freqüentes enfermidades.
24 Some mens sins are manifest before-hand, going before to judgment: and some they follow after.
24 Os pecados de alguns homens são manifestos, precedendo o juízo; e em alguns manifestam-se depois.
25 In like manner the good works also of some are manifest; and they that are otherwise cannot be hid.
25 Assim mesmo também as boas obras são manifestas, e as que são de outra maneira não podem ocultar-se.
