2 having witnessed your pure conversation {carried out} in fear;
3 INgwinda mgbi ema no ka li mgbi ikpewo, dafi otu odzilɛ-dzilɛ yi tagwude ngwi a mɛ mi abashi bɛyi angwuto ama osuse ba.
3 whose adorning let it not be that outward one of tressing of hair, and wearing gold, or putting on apparel;
4 Tatase, no li ungwɔ nwodzɛ mi idzidzɛ mbi abu nani, ingwinda mgbi onodzi obwa fyii di dzɛ shilididi nli sila ba, ngwi li ungwɔ olɛlɛ efu ba mbi Imgbasho nani.
4 but the hidden man of the heart, in the incorruptible {ornament} of a meek and quiet spirit, which in the sight of God is of great price.
5 Lubana li itɔ ofɛ ngwi engyaa ama nle saan nkye ɛwɛ ogbe byiibyi mgbi ama dzɛ mbi Imgbasho tugbe li mɛ ingwinda mgbi ama aali. A li siikyenu emi obama,
5 For thus also the holy women who have hoped in God heretofore adorned themselves, being subject to their own husbands;

6 as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord; whose children ye have become, doing good, and not fearing with any kind of consternation.

7 {Ye} husbands likewise, dwell with {them} according to knowledge, as with a weaker, {even} the female, vessel, giving {them} honour, as also fellow-heirs of {the} grace of life, that your prayers be not hindered.
8 Ongyɛɛngyɛ yɔ, ema duu dzɛ mi ogbela-gbela yi ewema, di ewema elela, di eka kpa eka itukwu, dzɛ yi itukwu osuse di yile ewo esɛ nu ewema.

10 For he that will love life and see good days, let him cause his tongue to cease from evil and his lips that they speak no guile.
11 Li kyemɛ ngwi o ka kyata mi ungwɔ
11 And let him avoid evil, and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it;
12 Lubana inɛ mgbi Otsɛ byidzɛ mbi ama osaan,
12 because {the} eyes of {the} Lord {are} on {the} righteous, and his ears towards their supplications; but {the} face of {the} Lord {is} against them that do evil.
13 Li emɛ ka kyɔ abu ungwɔ obube ni abu dzɛ yi oweka okyungwɔ osuse?
13 And who shall injure you if ye have become imitators of that which {is} good?
14 Kpaa kini abu le gyadzɛ mi ungwɔ nli ayin kpaa, mse bɛ abu ewo. <<Ka yama tsio ungwɔ ngwi a le tsio ma ba, eyi no ka ta abu ba.>>
14 E até sereis felizes, se padecerdes alguma coisa por causa da justiça!
15 Nghaduu kye iKrestu saan mi itukwu mgbi ema gbɛɛ o li Otsɛ. Wewo onu ali inggisɛ nbyi ema ita uka mi itɔdzɛ mgbi ɛwɛ ogbe byiibyi mgbi ema alonɔ duu. Nghaduu kyungwɔnɛ mi ofɛ iyu bɛyi mmwɛ,
15 Portanto, não temais as suas ameaças e não vos turbeis. Antes santificai em vossos corações Cristo, o Senhor. Estai sempre prontos a responder para vossa defesa a todo aquele que vos pedir a razão de vossa esperança, mas fazei-o com suavidade e respeito.

16 Tende uma consciência reta a fim de que, mesmo naquilo em que dizem mal de vós, sejam confundidos os que desacreditam o vosso santo procedimento em Cristo.
17 I tatase, no li oweka mgbi Imgbasho gbɛɛ, ni abu gyadzɛ mi okyɔ osuse ngha okyɔ obube.
17 Aliás, é melhor padecer, se Deus assim o quiser, por fazer o bem do que por fazer o mal.
18 Lubana iKrestu kwulu ikye ali ibwubwe akponyi ta, inggisɛ osaan kwulu ikye emi ibwubwe, ikye oyile ma ba mbi Imgbasho. A ngwɔn mi ikpewo kpaa a non dzɛ oshishe mi Onodzi.
18 Pois também Cristo morreu uma vez pelos nossos pecados - o Justo pelos injustos - para nos conduzir a Deus. Padeceu a morte em sua carne, mas foi vivificado quanto ao espírito.

21 Esta água prefigurava o batismo de agora, que vos salva também a vós, não pela purificação das impurezas do corpo, mas pela que consiste em pedir a Deus uma consciência boa, pela ressurreição de Jesus Cristo.

22 Esse Jesus Cristo, tendo subido ao céu, está assentado à direita de Deus, depois de ter recebido a submissão dos anjos, dos principados e das potestades.
