1 Now gash yourself, O daughter of troops: he has laid siege against us; they will strike the judge of Israel with a rod on the cheek.
1 Agora ajunta-te em tropas, ó filha de tropas; há um cerco contra nós; ferirão ao juiz de Israel com uma vara no queixo.
2 But you, Beth-lehem Ephrathah, which are little to be among the thousands of Judah, out of you will one come forth to me who is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth are from of old, from everlasting.
2 Mas tu, Belém Efrata, embora sejais pequena entre os milhares de Judá, de ti sairá para mim aquele que é governador em Israel, e cujas saídas tem sido desde os tempos antigos, desde a eternidade.
3 Therefore he will give them up, until the time that she who travails has brought forth: then the residue of his brothers will return to the sons of Israel.
3 Portanto, ele os entregará, até o tempo em que tiver dado à luz aquela que está de parto; então o restante de seus irmãos retornará aos filhos de Israel.
4 And he will stand, and will shepherd [his flock] in the strength of Yahweh, in the majesty of the name of Yahweh his God: and they will remain; for now he will be great to the ends of the earth.
4 E ele permanecerá e apascentará na força do SENHOR, na majestade do nome do SENHOR seu Deus; e habitarão, porque agora será engrandecido até aos confins da terra.
5 And this [man] will be [our] peace. When the Assyrian will come into our land, and when he will tread in our palaces, then we will raise against him seven shepherds, and eight principals of man.
5 E este homem será a paz; quando a Assíria vier à nossa terra, e quando pisar em nossos palácios, então levantaremos contra ela sete pastores e oito príncipes dentre os homens.
6 And they will shepherd the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod with the dagger: and he will deliver from the Assyrian, when he comes into our land, and when he treads inside our border.
6 E consumirão a terra da Assíria com a espada, e a terra de Ninrode nas suas entradas. Assim ele nos livrará da Assíria, quando vier à nossa terra, e quando pisar em nossas fronteiras.
7 And the remnant of Jacob will be in the midst of many peoples as dew from Yahweh, as showers on the grass, that do not tarry for man, nor wait for the sons of men.
7 E o remanescente de Jacó estará no meio de muitas pessoas, como orvalho do SENHOR, como chuva sobre a grama, que não espera pelo homem, nem aguarda pelos filhos dos homens.
8 And the remnant of Jacob will be among the nations, in the midst of many peoples, as a lion among the beasts of the forest, as a young lion among the flocks of sheep; who, if he goes through, treads down and tears in pieces, and there is none to deliver.
8 E o remanescente de Jacó estará entre os gentios, no meio de muitas pessoas, como um leão entre os animais da floresta; como um leãozinho entre os rebanhos de ovelhas, o qual, quando passar, pisará e despedaçará, sem que haja quem as livre.
9 Let your hand be lifted up above your adversaries, and let all your enemies be cut off.
9 A tua mão se exaltará sobre os teus adversários, e todos os teus inimigos serão exterminados.
10 And it will come to pass in that day, says Yahweh, that I will cut off your horses out of the midst of you, and will destroy your chariots:
10 E acontecerá naquele dia, diz o SENHOR, que exterminarei do meio de ti os teus cavalos, e destruirei as tuas carruagens;
11 and I will cut off the cities of your land, and will throw down all your strongholds.
11 e destruirei as cidades da tua terra, e derrubarei todas as tuas fortalezas;
12 And I will cut off sorcerers out of your hand; and you will have no psychics:
12 e exterminarei as feitiçarias da tua mão, e não terás mais adivinhadores;
13 and I will cut off your graven images and your pillars out of the midst of you; and you will no more worship the work of your hands;
13 tuas imagens de escultura e as tuas estátuas também destruirei do meio de ti; e tu não mais adorarás o trabalho das tuas mãos.
14 and I will pluck up your Asherim out of the midst of you; and I will destroy your cities.
14 E arrancarei os teus bosques do meio de ti; assim eu destruirei as tuas cidades.
15 And I will execute vengeance in anger and wrath on the nations which did not listen.
15 E farei vingança com ira e furor sobre os pagãos, por não ouvirem.
