5 yourselves also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

7 To you therefore who believe {is} the preciousness; but to the disobedient, the stone which the builders cast away as worthless, this is become head of {the} corner,

8 and a stone of stumbling and rock of offence; {who} stumble at the word, being disobedient to which also they have been appointed.
9 Hui­xinín hua̠nti̠ aya li̠pa̠­hua­ná̠tit Cristo, Dios ca̠lac­sac­ni̠tán la̠qui̠ xma̠n huá Min­tla̠tcán nahuán y hui­xinín xca­maná̠n nahua­ná̠tit; xlá ca̠li̠­ma̠x­tu­ni̠tán cumu la̠ cura hua̠nti̠ tala­ka­chix­cu­hui̠y cha̠tum lanca tali̠­pa̠hu rey, ca̠li̠­ma̠x­tu­ni̠tán xca̠­chi­quí̠n hua̠nti̠ ni̠tu̠ tali̠x­ca­jua̠la­má̠­nalh y ca̠lac­sac­ni̠tán la̠qui̠ xca­maná̠n nahua­ná̠tit porque ca̠pa̠x­qui̠yá̠n y la̠qui̠ nali̠­chu­hui̠­na­ná̠tit hua̠ntu̠ Dios tla­huani̠t lac­lanca li̠cá̠cni̠t xta­scújut; xlá ca̠ta­sanín la̠qui̠ natax­tu­ni­yá̠tit a̠má laca­ca̠­pucsua latáma̠t y ca̠ma̠x­quí̠n nali̠­la­ta­pa̠­yá̠tit li̠pa̠­xúhu xtax­káket.
9 But *ye* {are} a chosen race, a kingly priesthood, a holy nation, a people for a possession, that ye might set forth the excellencies of him who has called you out of darkness to his wonderful light;
10 Minchá quilh­ta­macú hui­xinín ni̠para tzinú xlac­pu­hua­ná̠tit para pi̠ tla̠n xli̠­tax­tútit cumu la̠ xca­maná̠n Dios, pero la̠nchú xli̠­ca̠na xca­maná̠n Dios hui­xinín porque huá ma̠n ca̠lac­sac­ni̠tán; xapu̠lh hui­xinín ni̠ xca­tzi̠­yá̠tit para Dios xca̠­pa̠x­qui̠yá̠n pero la̠nchú tancs talu­lo­ká̠tit pi̠ Dios snú̠n ca̠pa̠x­qui̠yá̠n.
10 who once {were} not a people, but now God's people; who were not enjoying mercy, but now have found mercy.
11 Nata̠lán, aquit luu cca̠­la­ka­lha­maná̠n, huá xpa̠­la­cata cca̠­li̠­hua­niyá̠n pi̠ li̠huán lapá̠tit nac ca̠quilh­ta­macú luu aksti̠tum cala­ta­pá̠tit ni̠tu̠ cat­la­huátit hua̠ntu̠ ni̠tlá̠n, aquinín tiji̠t­la̠­huaní̠n hua̠nti̠ caj tzinú tati­mak­ta­hui­la­má̠­nalh nac eé ca̠quilh­ta­macú; pus ne̠c­xnicú tit­la­hua­yá̠tit li̠­xcájnit tala̠­ka­lhí̠n hua̠ntu̠ mina̠chá nac xali̠xcáj­nit min­ta­la­ca­pa̠s­tac­nicán, porque huá tamá li̠lak­tzan­ka̠­ta̠yay mili̠s­tac­nicán.
11 Beloved, I exhort {you}, as strangers and sojourners, to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;

12 having your conversation honest among the Gentiles, that {as to that} in which they speak against you as evildoers, they may through {your} good works, {themselves} witnessing {them}, glorify God in {the} day of visitation.

14 or to rulers as sent by him, for vengeance on evildoers, and praise to them that do well.

15 Because so is the will of God, that by well-doing ye put to silence the ignorance of senseless men;
16 Xa̠huachí hui­xinín cala­ta­pá̠tit cumu la̠ cris­tianos hua̠nti̠ tat­la­huay la̠tachá túcu talac­pu­huán porque taca­tzi̠y pi̠ ni̠ti̠ lay ca̠li̠­huaniy hua̠ntu̠ natat­la­huay, pero ma̠squi catzi̠­yá̠tit pi̠ ni̠ti̠ lay ca̠li̠­hua­niyá̠n la̠ta tú tla­hua­yá̠tit ni̠para caj huá xpa̠­la­cata nali̠t­la­hua­yá̠tit hua̠ntú li̠xcáj­nit. Huata aksti̠tum cala­ta­pa̠tit chuná cumu la̠ ca̠mi­ni̠niy nata­la­tama̠y a̠ma̠ko̠lh cris­tianos hua̠nti̠ caj xma̠n huá Dios tas­cuj­ni­má̠­nalh.
16 as free, and not as having liberty as a cloak of malice, but as God's bondmen.
17 La̠tachá tícuya̠ cris­tianos caca̠­ca̠c­ni̠­na­nítit, y laca­ti̠tum caca̠­pa̠x­quí̠tit hua̠nti̠ tali̠­pa̠­huán Cristo, aksti̠tum cala­ta­pá̠tit nac xla­catí̠n Dios ni̠tu̠ tit­la­hua­yá̠tit hua̠ntú nali̠­ma­ka­li̠­pu­hua­ná̠tit, xa̠huachí laca­ti̠tum caca̠­ka­lha­kax­pátit hua̠ntu̠ tali̠­ma̠­pek­si̠nán lac­lanca mima̠­pek­si̠­nacán.
17 Shew honour to all, love the brotherhood, fear God, honour the king.
18 Xli̠­hua̠k hui­xinín hua̠nti̠ mak­scu­já̠tit caca̠­ca̠c­ni̠­na­nítit mim­pa­troncán hua̠nti̠ ca̠ma̠s­cu­jumá̠n y caca̠­ka­lha­kax­páttit hua̠ntu̠ ca̠li̠­ma̠­pek­si̠yá̠n, ni̠ caj xma̠nhuá a̠ma̠ko̠lh mim­pat­roncán hua̠nti̠ tla̠n ca̠ca­tzi̠­niyá̠n y ca̠pa̠x­qui̠yá̠n, huata na̠chuná a̠ma̠ko̠lh mim­pat­roncán hua̠nti̠ lanca ca̠la­ka­yá̠­calh, acxtum caca̠c­ni̠­na­nítit.
18 Servants, {be} subject with all fear to your masters, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the ill-tempered.
19 Porque Dios chuná lakati̠y, y li̠pa̠­xu­huay a̠má cris­tiano hua̠nti̠ ma̠t­la̠nti̠y hua̠k pa̠ti̠y hua̠ntu̠ nat­la­hua­nicán, ma̠squi catzi̠y pi̠ ni̠tu̠ caj kalha­kax­mat­ma­ka­nani̠t, caj xpa̠­la­cata cumu chuná li̠maka­pa̠­xu­huay Dios.
19 For this {is} acceptable, if one, for conscience sake towards God, endure griefs, suffering unjustly.
20 Li̠huana̠ cala­ca­pa̠s­táctit: para hui­xinín ca̠li̠­ma̠­pa̠­ti̠­ni̠­pa̠­cántit caj xpa̠­la­cata cumu hui̠ntú tla­hua­ni̠­tátit hua̠ntu̠ ni̠ mili̠t­la­huatcán xuani̠t, ¿lac­pu­hua­ná̠tit pi̠ Dios naca̠­la­ka­lha­maná̠n y naca̠­li̠­pa̠­xu­huayá̠n caj xpa̠­la­cata hua̠ntu̠ pa̠ti̠­pá̠tit? Pero para ca̠li̠­ma̠­pa̠­ti̠­ni̠­pa̠­cántit caj xpa̠­la­cata cumu tla­hua­pá̠tit hua̠ntu̠ lacuán ta­scújut y pa̠x­cat­li̠­pim­pá̠tit hua̠ntú ca̠ma̠­pa̠­ti̠­ni̠­pa̠­cántit, entonces xli̠­ca̠na pi̠ hua̠n­tamá lakati̠y Dios hua̠ntu̠ hui­xinín tla­hua­pá̠tit porque li̠pa̠­hua­ná̠tit.
20 For what glory {is it}, if sinning and being buffeted ye shall bear {it}? but if, doing good and suffering, ye shall bear {it}, this is acceptable with God.
21 Caj huá eé xpa̠­la­cata Dios ca̠li̠­lac­sac­ni̠tán la̠qui̠ naca̠­liucxi­lhá̠n para xli̠­ca̠na nat­la­hua­yá̠tit xta­pa̠­xu­huá̠n chuná cumu la̠ Cristo pa̠xu­hua̠na̠ pá̠ti̠lh caj quim­pa̠­la­ca­tacán, chuná xlá sta­lanca quin­ca̠­ma̠­si­yu­ni­ni̠tán lácu napa̠­ti̠­yá̠hu acxni̠ tla­hua­yá̠hu hua̠ntu̠ lakati̠y Dios, poreso cca̠­li̠­hua­niyá̠n: chuná camaca­sta̠­látit cumu la̠ xlá quin­ca̠­ma̠­si­yu­ni­ni̠tán.
21 For to this have ye been called; for Christ also has suffered for you, leaving you a model that ye should follow in his steps:
22 Ma̠squi xli̠­ca̠na pi̠ la̠ta Cristo tila­tá­ma̠lh nac ca̠quilh­ta­macú, xlá ne̠c­xnicú tlá­hualh tala̠­ka­lhí̠n y ni̠para cha̠tum xta̠­cris­tianos xák­salh.
22 who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth;
23 La̠ta makli̠t cala̠huá laca­quilh­ní̠­calh xlá ne̠c­xnicú cala̠huá kalh­tí̠­nalh; acxni̠ ma̠pa̠­ti̠­ní̠­calh xlá ne̠c­xnicú lac­púhua para naca̠­ma̠­lak­xoke̠y la̠ta tú xtla­hua­ni­má̠­calh, huata hua̠k Dios xma­ca­huili̠y xta­pa̠tí̠n hua̠nti̠ xli̠­ca̠na aksti̠tum naca̠­ma̠­xo­ko̠ni̠y cha̠­tunu cha̠­tunu cris­tianos la̠tachá túcu tatit­la­huani̠t nac xla­ta­ma̠tcán.
23 who, {when} reviled, reviled not again; {when} suffering, threatened not; but gave {himself} over into the hands of him who judges righteously;
24 Cristo cuca­ko̠lh nac xmacni xli̠­hua̠k quin­ta­la̠­ka­lhi̠ncán y antá ma̠lak­spú­tulh nac cruz acxni̠ ni̠lh, la̠qui̠ aquinín aya ni̠ni̠­táhu nahuán xpa̠­la­cata tala̠­ka­lhí̠n y caj xma̠nhuá nali̠­la­ta­ma̠­yá̠hu hua̠ntu̠ aksti̠tum latáma̠t. 24 who himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, in order that, being dead to sins, we may live to righteousness: by whose stripes ye have been healed.

25 For ye were going astray as sheep, but have now returned to the shepherd and overseer of your souls.
