1 You should, however, speak of such subjects as properly have a place in sound Christian teaching.
1 Mas você, Tito, ensine o que está de acordo com a doutrina verdadeira.
2 Teach that the older men should be temperate, serious, and discreet; strong in faith, love, and endurance.
2 Ensine os mais velhos a serem moderados, sérios, prudentes e firmes na fé, no amor e na perseverança.
3 So, too, that the older women should be reverent in their demeanor, and that they should avoid scandal, and beware of becoming slaves to drink;
3 Aconselhe também as mulheres mais idosas a viverem como devem viver as mulheres dedicadas a Deus. Que elas não sejam caluniadoras, nem muito chegadas ao vinho! Que elas ensinem o que é bom,
4 that they should teach what is right, so as to train the younger women to love their husbands and children,
4 para que as mulheres mais jovens aprendam a amar o marido e os filhos
5 and to be discreet, pure-minded, domesticated, good women, respecting the authority of their husbands, in order that God’s message may not be maligned.
5 e a ser prudentes, puras, boas donas de casa e obedientes ao marido, a fim de que ninguém fale mal da mensagem de Deus!
6 And so again with the younger men — impress on them the need of discretion.
6 Aconselhe também os homens mais jovens a serem prudentes.
7 Above all, set an example of doing good. Show sincerity in your teaching, and a serious spirit;
7 Você mesmo deve ser, em tudo, um exemplo de boa conduta. Seja sincero e sério quando estiver ensinando.
8 let the instruction that you give be sound and above reproach, so that the enemy may be ashamed when he fails to find anything bad to say about us.
8 Use palavras certas, para que ninguém possa criticá-lo e para que os inimigos fiquem envergonhados por não terem nada de mau a dizer a nosso respeito.
9 Tell slaves to respect their owner's authority in all circumstances, and to try their best to please them.
9 Que os escravos obedeçam aos seus donos e os agradem em tudo! Que não sejam respondões,
10 Teach them not to contradict or to pilfer, but to show such praiseworthy fidelity in everything, as to recommend the teaching about God our Savior by all that they do.
10 nem roubem os seus donos! Pelo contrário, que eles mostrem que são sempre bons e fiéis em tudo o que fazem. Desse modo, por causa das coisas que eles fizerem, todos falarão bem da doutrina a respeito de Deus, o nosso Salvador.
11 For the loving kindness of God has been revealed, bringing salvation for all;
11 Pois Deus revelou a sua graça para dar a salvação a todos.
12 leading us to renounce irreligious ways and worldly ambitions, and to live discreet, upright, and religious lives here in this present world,
12 Essa graça nos ensina a abandonarmos a descrença e as paixões mundanas e a vivermos neste mundo uma vida prudente, correta e dedicada a Deus,
13 while we are awaiting our blessed hope — the appearing in glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus.
13 enquanto ficamos esperando o dia feliz em que aparecerá a glória do nosso grande Deus e Salvador Jesus Cristo.
14 For he gave himself on our behalf, to deliver us from all wickedness, and to purify for himself a people who should be peculiarly his own and eager to do good.
14 Foi ele quem se deu a si mesmo por nós, a fim de nos livrar de toda maldade e de nos purificar , fazendo de nós um povo que pertence somente a ele e que se dedica a fazer o bem.
15 Speak of all this, and encourage and rebuke with all authority. Do not let anyone despise you.
15 Ensine essas coisas e use toda a sua autoridade para animar e também para repreender os seus ouvintes. E que ninguém despreze você!
