Gálatas 1

1 To the churches in Galatia, from Paul, an apostle whose commission is not from any human authority and is given, not by human beings, but by Jesus Christ and God the Father who raised him from the dead;
1 Paulo, apóstolo (não de homens, nem por algum homem, mas por Jesus Cristo, e por Deus o Pai, que o ressuscitou dentre os mortos);
2 and from all the followers of the Lord here.
2 e todos os irmãos que estão comigo, às igrejas da Galácia:
3 May God, our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ, bless you and give you peace. For Christ, to rescue us from this present wicked age,
3 Graça seja a vós e paz da parte de Deus o Pai, e de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo,
4 gave himself for our sins, in accordance with the will of God and Father,
4 o qual se deu por nossos pecados, para que pudesse nos livrar do presente mundo maligno, conforme a vontade de Deus e nosso Pai:
5 to whom be ascribed all glory for ever and ever. Amen.
5 A quem seja a glória para sempre e sempre. Amém.
6 I am astonished at your so soon deserting him, who called you through the love of Christ, for a different ‘good news,’
6 Admiro-me de que tão breve vos desviastes daquele que vos chamou para a graça de Cristo para um outro evangelho,
7 Which is really no good news at all. But then, I know that there are people who are harassing you, and who want to pervert the good news of the Christ.
7 o qual não é um outro; entretanto, há alguns que vos perturbam, e querem perverter o evangelho de Cristo.
8 Yet even if we — or if an angel from heaven were to tell you any other ‘good news’ than that which we told you, may he be accursed!
8 Porém, ainda que alguém, nós ou um anjo do céu, vos pregasse algum outro evangelho além do que vos pregamos, que seja ele amaldiçoado.
9 We have said it before, and I repeat it now — If anyone tells you a ‘good news’ other than that which you received, may he be accursed!
9 Como já vo-lo dissemos, digo-vos agora novamente, se algum homem pregar-vos algum outro evangelho além do que recebestes, que ele seja amaldiçoado.
10 Is this, I ask, trying to conciliate people, or God? Am I seeking to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I should not be a servant of Christ.
10 Pois, persuado eu agora a homens ou a Deus? Ou procuro agradar a homens? Se estivesse ainda agradando aos homens, não deveria ser servo de Cristo.
11 I remind you, friends, that the good news which I told is no mere human invention.
11 Mas asseguro-vos, irmãos, que o evangelho que foi pregado por mim, não é segundo o homem.
12 I, at least, did not receive it from any human being, nor was I taught it, but it came to me through a revelation made by Jesus Christ.
12 Porque eu nem o recebi de homem, nem mo ensinaram, porém mediante a revelação de Jesus Cristo.
13 You heard, no doubt, of my conduct when I was devoted to Judaism — how I persecuted the church of God to an extent beyond belief, and made havoc of it,
13 Porque ouvistes minhas conversas anteriormente sobre quando eu vivia no judaísmo, como excessivamente eu perseguia a igreja de Deus, e a assolava.
14 and how, in my devotion to Judaism, I surpassed many of my contemporaries among my own people in my intense earnestness in upholding the traditions of my ancestors.
14 Superava na religião judaica a muitos dos meus companheiros na minha própria nação, sendo mais excessivamente zeloso das tradições de meus pais.
15 But when God, who had set me apart even before my birth, and who called me by his love,
15 Mas quando aprouve a Deus, que me separou desde o ventre de minha mãe, e me chamou pela sua graça,
16 saw fit to reveal his Son in me, so that I might tell the good news of him among the Gentiles, then at once, instead of consulting any human being,
16 revelar seu Filho em mim, para que eu o pregasse entre os gentios; imediatamente não consultei carne e sangue,
17 or even going up to Jerusalem to see those who were apostles before me, I went to Arabia, and came back again to Damascus.
17 nem subi a Jerusalém para os que eram apóstolos antes de mim; mas parti para a Arábia, e outra vez retornei a Damasco.
18 Three years afterwards I went up to Jerusalem to make the acquaintance of Peter, and I stayed a fortnight with him.
18 Então, depois de três anos, subi a Jerusalém para ver Pedro, e permaneci com ele por quinze dias.
19 I did not, however, see any other apostle, except James, the Master’s brother.
19 Mas dos outros apóstolos não vi nenhum, exceto Tiago, irmão do Senhor.
20 (As to what I am now writing to you, I call God to witness that I am speaking the truth).
20 Ora, acerca das coisas que vos escrevo, digo perante Deus que não minto.
21 Afterwards I went to the districts of Syria and Cilicia.
21 Depois eu vim para as regiões da Síria e Cilícia.
22 But I was still unknown even by sight to the Christian churches in Judea;
22 Era, porém, desconhecido de vista às igrejas da Judeia, que estavam em Cristo.
23 all that they had heard was — ‘The man who once persecuted us is now telling the good news of the faith of which he once made havoc.’
23 Porém, só ouviram dizer que aquele que nos perseguia no passado prega agora a fé que outrora destruía.
24 And they praised God for my sake.
24 E glorificavam a Deus por mim.
