Efésios 6

1 children, obey your parents, as children of the Lord; for that is but right.
1 Filhos, obedecei a vossos pais no Senhor, porque isto é justo.
2 ‘Honor your father and mother’ — this is the first Commandment with a promise —
2 Honra a teu pai e a tua mãe, (que é o primeiro mandamento com promessa),
3 ‘So that you may prosper and have a long life on earth.’
3 para que te vá bem, e vivas muito tempo sobre a terra.
4 And fathers, do not irritate your children, but bring them up with Christian discipline and instruction.
4 E vós, pais, não provoqueis a ira a vossos filhos, mas criai-os na disciplina e admoestação do Senhor.
5 Slaves, obey your earthly masters, with anxious care, giving them ungrudging service, as if obeying the Christ;
5 Servos, obedecei àqueles que são os vossos senhores segundo a carne, com temor e tremor, na sinceridade de vosso coração, como a Cristo;
6 not only when their eyes are on you, as if you had merely to please people, but as slaves of Christ, who are trying to carry out the will of God.
6 não servindo à vista, como para agradar aos homens, mas como servos de Cristo, fazendo a vontade de Deus de coração;
7 Give your service heartily and cheerfully, as working for the Master and not for people;
7 servindo de boa vontade como ao Senhor e não como aos homens;
8 for you know that everyone will be rewarded by the Master for any honest work that he has done, whether he is a slave or free.
8 sabendo que toda a boa coisa que cada um fizer, o mesmo ele receberá do Senhor, seja ele servo, seja livre.
9 And masters, treat your slaves in the same spirit. Give up threatening them; for you know that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and that before him there is no distinction of rank.
9 E vós, senhores, fazei as mesmas coisas para com eles, deixando as ameaças, sabendo também que o Senhor deles e vosso está no céu, e não há acepção de pessoas com ele.
10 For the future, find strength in your union with the Lord, and in the power which comes from his might.
10 E finalmente, meus irmãos, sede fortes no Senhor e na força do seu poder.
11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you may be able to stand your ground against the stratagems of the devil.
11 Revesti-vos de toda a armadura de Deus, para que possais estar firmes contra as astutas ciladas do diabo.
12 For ours is no struggle against enemies of flesh and blood, but against all the various powers of evil that hold sway in the darkness around us, against the spirits of Wickedness on high.
12 Porque não lutamos contra carne e sangue, mas contra os principados, contra as potestades, contra os governantes das trevas deste mundo, contra a maldade espiritual em regiões celestiais.
13 Therefore take up the full armor of God, so that when the evil day comes, you may be able to withstand the attack, and, having fought to the end, still to stand your ground.
13 Portanto, tomai toda a armadura de Deus, para que possais resistir no dia mau e, havendo feito tudo, ficar firmes.
14 Stand your ground, then, ‘with truth for your belt,’ and ‘with righteousness for your breast-plate,’
14 Portanto, estai firmes, tendo cingidos os vossos lombos com a verdade, e vestida a couraça da justiça,
15 And with the readiness to serve the good news of peace as shoes for your feet.
15 e calçados os vossos pés na preparação do evangelho da paz;
16 At every onslaught take up faith for your shield; for with it you will be able to extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one.
16 tomando, sobre tudo, o escudo da fé, com o qual podereis apagar todos os dardos inflamados do maligno.
17 And receive ‘the helmet of salvation,’ and ‘the sword of the Spirit’ — which is the message of God — always with prayer and supplication.
17 E tomai o capacete da salvação, e a espada do Espírito, que é a palavra de Deus.
18 Pray in spirit at all times. Be intent on this, with unwearying perseverance and supplication for all Christ’s people —
18 Orando em todo tempo com toda oração e súplica no Espírito, e vigiando nisso com toda perseverança e súplica por todos os santos,
19 And on my behalf also, so that when I begin to speak, words may be given me, so that I may fearlessly make known the inmost truth of the good news,
19 e por mim; que a palavra me seja dada, para que eu possa abrir a minha boca ousadamente, para fazer conhecido o mistério do evangelho,
20 on behalf of which I am an ambassador — in chains! Pray that, in telling it, I may speak fearlessly as I ought.
20 pelo qual sou embaixador em cadeias; para que possa falar dele ousadamente, como me convém falar.
21 To enable you, as well as others, to know all that concerns me and what I am doing, Tychicus, our dear friend and faithful helper in the Master’s cause, will tell you everything.
21 Ora, para que vós também possais saber das coisas acerca de mim e o que faço, Tíquico, irmão amado e fiel ministro do Senhor, vos fará saber todas as coisas,
22 I am sending him to you on purpose that you may learn all about us, and that he may cheer your hearts.
22 o qual vos enviei para o mesmo propósito, para que conheçais as coisas a nosso respeito, e para que ele console os vossos corações.
23 May God, the Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ give every follower peace, and love linked with faith.
23 Paz seja com os irmãos e amor com fé, da parte de Deus o Pai e da do Senhor Jesus Cristo.
24 May God’s blessing be with all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with an undying love.
24 A graça seja com todos os que amam a nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo em sinceridade. Amém.
