1 Wisdom has built her house; she has hewn her seven pillars.
1 A Sabedoria construiu a sua casa, esculpiu para si sete colunas.
2 She has slaughtered her slaughtering, mixed her wine, and also set her table.
2 Matou os seus animais para a festa e preparou o seu vinho; também já arrumou a sua mesa.
3 She has sent her servant girls, she calls upon the wings of the high places of town,
3 Enviou as suas criadas para que, dos lugares mais altos da cidade, façam este convite:
4 “Whoever is simple, let him turn here.” As for the one who lacks ⌞sense⌟, she says to him,
4 “Quem é ingênuo, venha para cá.” Aos que não têm juízo ela diz:
5 “Come, eat with my bread; drink with the wine I have mixed.
5 “Venham, comam do meu pão e bebam do vinho que preparei.
6 Lay aside simplicity and live; walk in the way of understanding.”
6 Afastem-se dos ingênuos e vivam; andem pelo caminho do entendimento.”
7 He who corrects a scoffer gains abuse for himself, and he who rebukes the wicked ⌞gets hurt⌟.
7 Quem repreende o zombador traz afronta sobre si; e quem censura o ímpio será insultado.
8 Do not rebuke a scoffer, lest he hate you; rebuke the wise and he will love you.
8 Não repreenda o zombador, para que ele não odeie você; repreenda o sábio, e ele o amará.
9 Give to a wise one and he will become more wise; ⌞teach⌟ a righteous one and he will increase learning.
9 Dê instrução ao sábio, e ele se tornará mais sábio ainda; ensine o justo, e ele crescerá na prudência.
10 The start of wisdom is fear of Yahweh, and knowledge of the Holy One, insight.
10 O temor do Senhor é o princípio da sabedoria; conhecer o Santo é ter entendimento.
11 For by me your days shall increase, and years of life shall multiply for you.
11 Porque por mim se multiplicarão os seus dias, e aumentarão os anos de sua vida.
12 If you are wise, you are wise for yourself, and if you scoff, alone you shall bear it.
12 Se você é sábio, é sábio para si mesmo; se é zombador, só você sofrerá as consequências.
13 A woman of foolishness is loud, simple, and does not know ⌞it⌟.
13 A loucura é mulher espalhafatosa; é tola e não sabe coisa alguma.
14 She sits at the door of her house, upon a throne at the high places of town,
14 Senta-se junto à porta de sua casa, toma uma cadeira no lugar mais alto da cidade,
15 in order to call to those who pass by the road, those who go straight on their way:
15 para dizer aos que passam e seguem direito o seu caminho:
16 “Whoever is simple, may he turn here!” As for he who lacks ⌞sense⌟, she says to him,
16 “Quem for ingênuo, venha para cá.” E aos que não têm juízo ela diz:
17 “Stolen waters are sweet, and bread of secrecy is pleasant.”
17 “A água roubada é doce, e o pão comido às escondidas é saboroso.”
18 But he does not know that the dead are there, in the depths of Sheol are her guests.
18 Eles, porém, não sabem que ali estão os mortos, que os seus convidados estão nas profundezas do inferno.
