1 In the third year of Cyrus the king of the Persians, a word was revealed to Daniel, who was called by his name Belteshazzar, and the word was reliable and it concerned a great tribulation, and he understood the word and ⌞he received understanding⌟.
1 No terceiro ano de Ciro, rei da Pérsia, uma palavra foi revelada a Daniel, cujo nome é Beltessazar. A palavra era verdadeira e envolvia grande conflito. Ele entendeu a palavra e teve entendimento da visão.
2 In those days, I, Daniel, I myself was in mourning ⌞for three whole weeks⌟.
2 Naqueles dias, eu, Daniel, fiquei de luto por três semanas.
3 I had not eaten any choice food, and meat and wine did not enter my mouth, and ⌞I did not use any ointment⌟ ⌞until the end of three whole weeks⌟.
3 Não comi nada que fosse saboroso, não provei carne nem vinho, e não me ungi com óleo algum, até que passaram as três semanas.
4 And then on the twenty-fourth day of the first month, I myself was on the bank of the great river; that is, the Tigris.
4 No dia vinte e quatro do primeiro mês, estando eu na margem do grande rio Tigre,
5 And I lifted up my eyes and I saw, and there was a man, and he was dressed in linen, and his waist was girded with the gold of Uphaz.
5 levantei os olhos e vi um homem vestido de linho, com um cinto de ouro puro de Ufaz na cintura.
6 Now his body was like turquoise, and his face was like the appearance of lightning, and his eyes were like torches of fire, and his arms and his legs were like the gleam of polished bronze, and the sound of his words was like the sound of a multitude.
6 O seu corpo era como o berilo, o seu rosto parecia um relâmpago, os seus olhos eram como tochas de fogo, os seus braços e os seus pés brilhavam como bronze polido, e a voz das suas palavras era como o barulho de uma multidão.
7 And I saw, I, Daniel ⌞alone⌟, the vision; and the people who were with me ⌞did not see⌟ the vision; nevertheless, a great trembling fell upon them and they fled in order to hide themselves.
7 Só eu, Daniel, tive aquela visão. Os homens que estavam comigo nada viram, mas ficaram com muito medo, fugiram e se esconderam.
8 And I myself, Daniel, alone saw this great vision, and as a result ⌞no strength was left in me⌟ and ⌞my complexion grew deathly pale⌟, and I did not retain any strength.
8 Assim, fiquei sozinho e contemplei esta grande visão, e não restou força em mim. O meu rosto mudou de cor e se desfigurou, e perdi as forças.
9 And I heard the sound of his words, and ⌞when I heard⌟ the sound of his words I myself began falling into a trance on my face, ⌞with my face to the ground⌟.
9 Contudo, ouvi a voz das suas palavras; e, ouvindo essa voz, caí sem sentidos, com o rosto em terra.
10 And look, a hand touched me and it roused me to my knees and the palms of my hands.
10 Eis que a mão de alguém tocou em mim, e me ajudou a ficar de joelhos, apoiado nas palmas das mãos.
11 And he said to me, “Daniel, a man beloved, pay attention to the words that I am speaking to you and ⌞stand upright where you are⌟, for I have now been sent to you.” And ⌞while he was speaking⌟ with me this word, I stood up trembling.
11 Ele me disse: — Daniel, homem muito amado, esteja atento às palavras que vou lhe dizer. Fique em pé, porque fui enviado para falar com você. Enquanto ele falava comigo, eu me pus em pé, tremendo.
12 And he said to me, “You must not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand and to humble yourself ⌞before⌟ your God, your words were heard, and I myself have come because of your words.
12 Então ele me disse: — Não tenha medo, Daniel, porque as suas palavras foram ouvidas, desde o primeiro dia em que você dispôs o coração a compreender e a se humilhar na presença do seu Deus. Foi por causa dessas suas palavras que eu vim.
13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia stood ⌞before me⌟ for twenty-one days. And look, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to assist me, and I left him there beside the king of the Persians.
13 Mas o príncipe do reino da Pérsia me resistiu durante vinte e um dias. Porém Miguel, um dos príncipes mais importantes, veio me ajudar, e eu fiquei ali com os reis da Pérsia.
14 And I have come to instruct you about what will happen to your people ⌞in the future⌟, for there is a further vision here ⌞for the future⌟.
14 Agora, vim para fazer com que você entenda o que vai acontecer com o seu povo nos últimos dias. Porque a visão se refere a dias ainda distantes.
15 And while he was speaking with me according to these words, I turned my face toward the ground and I was speechless.
15 Enquanto ele me dizia essas palavras, dirigi o olhar para o chão e fiquei mudo.
16 Then look, there was ⌞one in the form of a human⌟; he touched my lips and I opened my mouth and I spoke and I said to the one standing ⌞before me⌟, “My lord, because of the vision my anxieties fell upon me and I have not retained my strength.
16 Então um ser semelhante aos filhos dos homens me tocou os lábios, e passei a falar. Eu disse àquele que estava diante de mim: — Meu senhor, essa visão me causou muita dor, e eu fiquei sem força alguma.
17 So ⌞how am I, a servant of my lord⌟ to speak with ⌞you, my lord⌟, and I ⌞just now⌟ ⌞have no strength in me⌟?”
17 Como pode este seu servo falar com o meu senhor? Porque, quanto a mim, não me resta mais nenhuma força, e quase não posso respirar.
18 And ⌞he again touched⌟ me, ⌞the one in the form of a human⌟, and he strengthened me.
18 Então aquele ser semelhante a um homem tocou em mim outra vez e me fortaleceu.
19 And he said, “You must not fear, O beloved man. ⌞Peace be to you⌟; be strong and be courageous!” And ⌞when he spoke⌟ with me, I was strengthened and I said, “Let my lord speak, for you have strengthened me.”
19 E disse: — Não tenha medo, homem muito amado! Que a paz esteja com você! Anime-se! Sim, anime-se! Enquanto ele falava comigo, fiquei fortalecido e disse: — Fale agora, meu senhor, pois as suas palavras me fortaleceram.
20 Then he asked, “Do you know why I have come to you? And now I return to fight against the prince of Persia and I myself am going, and look, the prince of Javan will come.
20 E ele disse: — Você sabe por que eu vim? Agora voltarei a lutar contra o príncipe da Pérsia. Quando eu sair, eis que virá o príncipe da Grécia.
21 However, I will tell you ⌞what is inscribed⌟ in the book of truth, and there is not one who contends with me against these beings ⌞except⌟ Michael, your prince.”
21 Mas eu direi a você o que está expresso no Livro da Verdade. E na minha luta contra eles não há ninguém que esteja ao meu lado, a não ser Miguel, o príncipe de vocês.
