1 'For the reign of the heavens is like to a man, a householder, who went forth with the morning to hire workmen for his vineyard,
1 Porque o reino do céu é semelhante a um homem que é um chefe de família, que saiu de manhã cedo para contratar trabalhadores para a sua vinha.
2 and having agreed with the workmen for a denary a day, he sent them into his vineyard.
2 E, tendo acordado com os trabalhadores um denário por dia, mandou-os para a sua vinha.
3 'And having gone forth about the third hour, he saw others standing in the market-place idle,
3 E ele saindo perto da hora terceira, viu outros que estavam ociosos no mercado,
4 and to these he said, Go you -- also you -- to the vineyard, and whatever may be righteous I will give you;
4 e disse-lhes: Ide vós também para a vinha, e dar-vos-ei o que for justo. E eles foram pelo caminho.
5 and they went away. 'Again, having gone forth about the sixth and the ninth hour, he did in like manner.
5 Ele saindo outra vez, cerca da hora sexta e da nona, fez da mesma forma.
6 And about the eleventh hour, having gone forth, he found others standing idle, and said to them, Why here have you stood all the day idle?
6 E, ele saindo cerca da hora undécima, encontrou outros que estavam ociosos, e disse-lhes: Por que estais ociosos todo o dia?
7 They say to him, Because no one did hire us; he said to them, Go you -- you also -- to the vineyard, and whatever may be righteous you shall receive.
7 Eles disseram-lhe: Porque nenhum homem nos contratou. Ele disse-lhes: Ide vós também para a vinha, e tudo quanto for justo, vós recebereis.
8 'And evening having come, the lord of the vineyard said to his steward, Call the workmen, and pay them the reward, having begun from the last -- unto the first.
8 Assim, vindo a tarde, o senhor da vinha disse ao seu mordomo: Chama os trabalhadores, e paga-lhes o salário, começando pelos últimos até aos primeiros.
9 And they of about the eleventh hour having come, did receive each a denary.
9 E, vindo os que foram cerca da hora undécima, receberam cada homem um denário.
10 'And the first having come, did suppose that they shall receive more, and they received, they also, each a denary,
10 Vindo, então, os primeiros, eles pensaram que haviam de receber mais; mas do mesmo modo recebeu cada homem um denário.
11 and having receivedit, they were murmuring against the householder, saying,
11 E, recebendo-o, murmuravam contra o dono da casa,
12 that These, the last, wrought one hour, and you did make them equal to us, who were bearing the burden of the day -- and the heat.
12 dizendo: Estes últimos trabalharam somente uma hora, e os fizestes iguais a nós, que suportamos o fardo e o calor do dia.
13 'And he answering said to one of them, Comrade, I do no unrighteousness to you; for a denary did not you agree with me?
13 Mas ele, respondendo, disse a um deles: Amigo, eu não te faço injustiça; tu não combinastes comigo um denário?
14 Take that which is yours, and go; and I will to give to this, the last, also as to you;
14 Toma o que é teu, e vai-te pelo caminho; eu quero dar a este último tanto como a ti.
15 is it not lawful to me to do what I will in mine own? Is your eye evil because I am good?
15 Não me é lícito fazer o que eu quero do que é meu? Ou é mau o teu olho porque eu sou bom?
16 So the last shall be first, and the first last, for many are called, and few chosen.'
16 Assim os últimos serão os primeiros, e os primeiros os últimos; porque muitos são chamados, mas poucos os escolhidos.
17 And Jesus going up to Jerusalem, took the twelve disciples by themselves in the way, and said to them,
17 E, subindo Jesus para Jerusalém, tomou à parte os seus doze discípulos no caminho, e disse-lhes:
18 'Lo, we go up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man shall be delivered to the chief priests and scribes,
18 Eis que nós subimos para Jerusalém, e o Filho do homem será traído aos principais sacerdotes e aos escribas, e eles o condenarão à morte,
19 and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the nations to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify, and the third day he will rise again.'
19 e o entregarão aos gentios para que dele zombem, e o açoitem e crucifiquem, e ao terceiro dia ele ressuscitará.
20 Then came near to him the mother of the sons of Zebedee, with her sons, bowing and asking something from him,
20 Então se aproximou dele a mãe dos filhos de Zebedeu, com seus filhos, adorando-o, e desejando uma certa coisa.
21 and he said to her, 'What will you?' She said to him, 'Say, that they may sit -- these my two sons -- one on your right hand, and one on the left, in your reign.'
21 E ele disse para ela: O que tu queres? Ela disse: Concede que estes meus dois filhos se assentem, um à tua direita e outro à tua esquerda, no teu reino.
22 And Jesus answering said, 'You have not known what you ask for yourselves; are you able to drink of the cup that I am about to drink? And with the baptism that I am baptized with, to be baptized?' They say to him, 'We are able.'
22 Mas Jesus respondendo disse: Não sabeis o que pedis. Podeis vós beber o cálice que eu hei de beber, e ser batizados com o batismo com que eu sou batizado? Dizem-lhe eles: Nós podemos.
23 And he said to them, 'Of my cup indeed you shall drink, and with the baptism that I am baptized with you shall be baptized; but to sit on my right hand and on my left is not mine to give, but -- to those for whom it has been prepared by my father.'
23 E diz-lhes ele: Na verdade bebereis o meu cálice e sereis batizados com o batismo com que eu sou batizado, mas o assentar-se à minha direita ou à minha esquerda não me pertence dá-lo, mas o será dado àqueles para quem meu Pai o tem preparado.
24 And the ten having heard, were much displeased with the two brothers,
24 E, quando os dez ouviram isso, indignaram-se contra os dois irmãos.
25 and Jesus having called them near, said, 'You have known that the rulers of the nations do exercise lordship over them, and those great do exercise authority over them,
25 Mas Jesus chamando-os, disse: Sabeis que os príncipes dos gentios exercem domínio sobre eles, e os seus grandes exercem autoridade sobre eles.
26 but not so shall it be among you, but whoever may will among you to become great, let him be your ministrant;
26 Mas não será assim entre vós; mas quem dentre vós deseja ser grande, seja o vosso servidor;
27 and whoever may will among you to be first, let him be your servant;
27 e, quem deseja ser o primeiro, seja o vosso servo.
28 even as the Son of Man did not come to be ministered to, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.'
28 Assim como o Filho do homem não veio para ser servido, mas para servir, e para dar a sua vida em resgate de muitos.
29 And they going forth from Jericho, there followed him a great multitude,
29 E, partindo eles de Jericó, uma grande multidão o seguia.
30 and lo, two blind men sitting by the way, having heard that Jesus does pass by, cried, saying, 'Deal kindly with us, sir -- Son of David.'
30 E eis que dois homens cegos, assentados junto do caminho, ouvindo que Jesus passava, clamaram, dizendo: Tem misericórdia de nós, ó Senhor, Filho de Davi!
31 And the multitude charged them that they might be silent, and they cried out the more, saying, 'Deal kindly with us sir -- Son of David.'
31 E a multidão os repreendia, para que se calassem; mas eles gritavam ainda mais, dizendo: Tem misericórdia de nós, ó Senhor, Filho de Davi.
32 And having stood, Jesus called them, and said, 'What will youthat I may do to you?'
32 E Jesus, parando, chamou-os, e disse: O que quereis que eu vos faça?
33 They say to him, 'Sir, that our eyes may be opened;'
33 Disseram-lhe eles: Senhor, que os nossos olhos possam ser abertos.
34 and having been moved with compassion, Jesus touched their eyes, and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.
34 Então Jesus teve compaixão deles, e tocou seus olhos; e imediatamente seus olhos receberam visão, e eles o seguiram.
