1 Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus, and Timothy the brother, to Philemon our beloved and fellow-worker,
1 Paulo, prisioneiro de Cristo Jesus, e o irmão Timóteo, ao amado Filemom, também nosso colaborador,
2 and Apphia the beloved, and Archippus our fellow-soldier, and the assembly in your house:
2 e à irmã Áfia, e a Arquipo, nosso companheiro de lutas, e à igreja que está em tua casa,
3 Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ!
3 graça e paz a vós outros, da parte de Deus, nosso Pai, e do Senhor Jesus Cristo.
4 I give thanks to my God, always making mention of you in my prayers,
4 Dou graças ao meu Deus, lembrando-me, sempre, de ti nas minhas orações,
5 hearing of your love and faith that you have unto the Lord Jesus and toward all the saints,
5 estando ciente do teu amor e da fé que tens para com o Senhor Jesus e todos os santos,
6 that the fellowship of your faith may become working in the full knowledge of every good thing that is in you toward Christ Jesus;
6 para que a comunhão da tua fé se torne eficiente no pleno conhecimento de todo bem que há em nós, para com Cristo.
7 for we have much joy and comfort in your love, because the affections of the saints have been refreshed through you, brother.
7 Pois, irmão, tive grande alegria e conforto no teu amor, porquanto o coração dos santos tem sido reanimado por teu intermédio.
8 Therefore, having in Christ much boldness to command you that which is fit --
8 Pois bem, ainda que eu sinta plena liberdade em Cristo para te ordenar o que convém,
9 because of the love I rather entreat, being such an one as Paul the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ;
9 prefiro, todavia, solicitar em nome do amor, sendo o que sou, Paulo, o velho e, agora, até prisioneiro de Cristo Jesus;
10 I entreat you concerning my child -- whom I did beget in my bonds -- Onesimus,
10 sim, solicito-te em favor de meu filho Onésimo, que gerei entre algemas.
11 who once was to you unprofitable, and now is profitable to me and to you,

12 whom I did send again, and you him (that is, my own affections) receive,

15 for perhaps because of this he did depart for an hour, that age-duringly you may have him,

17 If, then, with me you have fellowship, receive him as me,

18 and if he did hurt to you, or does owe anything, this to me be reckoning;
18 E, se algum dano te fez ou se te deve alguma coisa, lança tudo em minha conta.
19 I, Paul did write with my hand, I -- I will repay; that I may not say that also yourself, besides, to me you do owe.
19 Eu, Paulo, de próprio punho, o escrevo: Eu pagarei — para não te alegar que também tu me deves até a ti mesmo.
20 Yes, brother, may I have profit of you in the Lord; refresh my affections in the Lord;
20 Sim, irmão, que eu receba de ti, no Senhor, este benefício. Reanima-me o coração em Cristo.
21 having been confident in your obedience I did write to you, having known that also above what I may say you will do;
21 Certo, como estou, da tua obediência, eu te escrevo, sabendo que farás mais do que estou pedindo.
22 and at the same time also prepare for me a lodging, for I hope that through your prayers I shall be granted to you.
22 E, ao mesmo tempo, prepara-me também pousada, pois espero que, por vossas orações, vos serei restituído.
