1 O GOD of avengingYahweh, GOD of avenging, shine forth:
1 Ó Senhor , Deus das vinganças, ó Deus das vinganças, resplandece.
2 Lift up thyself, O judge of the earth, Render a recompense unto the proud.
2 Levanta-te, ó juiz da terra, e dá aos soberbos o castigo que eles merecem.
3 How long shall the lawless, O Yahweh, How long shall the lawless exult?
3 Até quando, Senhor , os ímpios, até quando os ímpios exultarão?
4 They pour forth , they speak arrogantly, All the workers of iniquity, do boast:
4 Fazem alarde e falam com arrogância; todos os que praticam a iniquidade se vangloriam.
5 Thy people, O Yahweh, they will crush, And, thine inheritance, tread down;
5 Esmagam o teu povo, Senhor , e oprimem a tua herança.
6 The widow and sojourner, they will slay, And, the fatherless, murder.
6 Matam as viúvas e os estrangeiros e assassinam os órfãos.
7 Yet have they saidYah, doth not see, The God of Jacob, doth not understand.
7 E dizem: “O o Deus de Jacó não faz caso disso.”
8 Understand, ye brutish among the people, And, ye dullards, when will ye show discretion?
8 Prestem atenção, ó estúpidos dentre o povo; e vocês, tolos, quando se tornarão sábios?
9 He that planteth the ear, shall he not hear? Or, that fashioneth the eye, shall he not have power to see?
9 Aquele que fez o ouvido será que não ouve? Aquele que formou os olhos será que não enxerga?
10 He that correcteth nations, shall he not reprove? He that teacheth man knowledge!
10 Aquele que repreende as nações será que não vai punir? Aquele que dá aos seres humanos o conhecimento será que não tem sabedoria?
11 Yahweh, knoweth the plans of men, That, they, are a breath!
11 O Senhor conhece os pensamentos do ser humano, e sabe que são pensamentos vãos.
12 How happy the man whom thou correctest, O Yah! And whom, out of thy law, thou instructest!
12 Bem-aventurado, Senhor , é aquele a quem tu repreendes, a quem ensinas a tua lei,
13 That thou mayest give him rest from the days of misfortune, Until there be diggedfor the lawless onea pit.
13 para lhe dares descanso dos dias maus, até que se abra a cova para o ímpio.
14 For Yahweh, will not abandon, his people, And, his inheritance, will he not forsake;
14 Pois o Senhor não abandonará o seu povo; ele não irá desamparar a sua herança.
15 For, unto righteousness, shall the judicial sentence return, Then shall follow itall the upright in heart.
15 Nos tribunais voltará a imperar a justiça, e todos os de coração reto a seguirão.
16 Who will rise up for me, against the evil-doers? Who will make a stand for me, against the workers of iniquity?
16 Quem se levantará a meu favor contra os perversos? Quem estará comigo contra os que praticam a iniquidade?
17 If, Yahweh, had not been a help to me, Soon had sunk into silencemy soul!
17 Se não fosse o auxílio do Senhor , a minha alma já estaria na região do silêncio.
18 If I say, My foot, hath slipped, Thy lovingkindness, O Yahweh, supporteth me.
18 Quando eu digo: “Os meus pés vão resvalar”, a tua bondade,
19 In the multitude of my cares within me, Thy consolations, delight my soul.
19 Multiplicando-se em mim as inquietações, as tuas consolações me alegram a alma.
20 Shall the throne that inflicteth ruin, have fellowship with thee, That frameth oppression, by statute?
20 Será que pode associar-se contigo o trono da perversidade, que forja o mal, tendo uma lei por pretexto?
21 They make an attack on the life of the righteous one,And, innocent blood, they condemn.
21 Ajuntam-se contra a vida dos justos e condenam à morte os inocentes.
22 But, Yahweh, hath become for me a high tower, And my God, my rock of refuge.
22 Mas o Senhor é o meu alto refúgio; o meu Deus é o rochedo em que me abrigo.
23 Thus hath he brought back on them their iniquity, And, by their own wickedness, will he destroy them, Destroy them, will Yahweh our God.
23 Sobre eles faz recair a sua iniquidade e pela maldade deles próprios os destruirá; o os destruirá.
