1 O Yahweh, our Lord! How majestic is thy Name, in all the earth, Who hast set thy splendour upon the heavens.
1 Ao Músico-chefe sobre Gitite, Salmo de Davi. Ó SENHOR, nosso Senhor, quão excelente é teu nome em toda a terra! Que estabeleceste a tua glória sobre os céus.
2 Out of the mouth of children and sucklings, hast thou laid a foundation of strength,because of thine adversaries, to make foe and avenger be still.
2 Da boca dos bebês e das crianças de peito, tu ordenaste a força por causa dos teus inimigos, para que pudesses parar o inimigo e o vingador.
3 When I view thy heavens, the work, of thy fingers, moon and stars, which thou hast established,
3 Quando considero os teus céus, o trabalho dos teus dedos, a lua e as estrelas que tu ordenaste;
4 What was weak man, that thou shouldst make mention of him? or the son of the earthborn, that thou shouldst set him in charge?
4 o que é o homem, para que sejas cuidadoso com ele? E o filho do homem, para que o visites?
5 That thou shouldst make him little less than messengers of God, with glory and honour, shouldst crown him?
5 Porque o fizeste por um pouco, menor do que os anjos, e o coroaste com glória e honra.
6 Shouldst give him dominion over the works of thy hands,All things, shouldst have put under his feet:
6 Tu fizeste com que ele tivesse domínio sobre as obras de tuas mãos; tu puseste todas as coisas debaixo de seus pés:
7 Sheep and oxen, all of them,yea even the beasts of the field;
7 Todas as ovelhas e bois, sim, e os animais do campo;
8 The bird of the heavens, and the fishes of the sea, the passer-by on the paths of the seas?
8 As aves do ar, e os peixes do mar, e tudo o que passa pelas veredas dos mares.
9 O Yahweh, our Lord! How majestic is thy Name, in all the earth.
9 Ó SENHOR, nosso Senhor, quão excelente é o teu nome em toda a terra!
