¹ Many a time, have they harassed me from my youth, well may Israel say:

² Many a time, have they harassed me from youth, yet have they not prevailed against me.

³ Upon my back, have ploughmen ploughed, They have lengthened their furrow!

³ Lavraram sobre o meu dorso os lavradores, nele abriram longos sulcos.

⁴ Yahweh, is righteous, He hath cut asunder the cords of the lawless.

⁴ Mas o Senhor é justo, ele cortou as correias com que me afligiram os maus.

⁵ Let all who hate Zion, be ashamed and shrink back:

⁵ Sejam confundidos e recuem todos os que odeiam Sião.

⁶ Let them become like the grass of housetops, which, before it is pulled up, hath withered;

⁶ Que eles se tornem como a erva do telhado, que seca antes de ser arrancada.

⁷ Wherewith no reaper, hath filled his hand, nor binder, his bosom:

⁷ Com ela não enche as mãos o ceifador, nem seu regaço quem recolhe os feixes.

⁸ Neither have the passers-by ever said, The blessing of Yahweh, be unto you,We have blessed you in the Name of Yahweh.

⁸ Os que passam não lhes dirão: Desça sobre vós a bênção do Senhor! Nem: Nós vos abençoamos em nome do Senhor.
