1 Say ye unto your brethren, O Ammi, and unto your sisters, O Ruhamah: \fs15
1 Portanto, ponham nos seus irmãos, os israelitas, os nomes de Povo-de-Deus e Amados-por-Deus.
2 Contend ye with your mother, contend, for she is no wife of mine, and I am no husband of hers, Let her then put away her paramours from before her, and her partners in adultery, from her embraces:
2 O Senhor Deus disse ao povo: — Acusem a sua mãe, façam denúncia contra ela, pois ela não é mais a minha esposa, e eu não sou mais o seu marido. Peçam que ela pare de cometer adultério e que mande embora os seus amantes.
3 Lest I strip off her under-clothing, and set her forth to view, as in the day she was born,and make her like a wilderness, and render her like a land that is parched, and suffer her to die of thirst;
3 Se ela não fizer isso, eu tirarei toda a sua roupa e a deixarei nua como no dia em que nasceu. Eu farei com que ela fique como um deserto, como uma terra seca, e ela morrerá de sede.
4 And, on her children, not have compassion,because, the children of paramours, they are.
4 E não terei pena dos seus filhos, pois são filhos de uma prostituta.
5 For their mother, hath been unchaste, and she that conceived them, hath caused shame,for she said, Let me go after my lovers! who used to give my bread, and my water, my wool, and my flax, mine oil, and my drink.
5 Ela se entregou à prostituição e mostrou que havia perdido toda a vergonha quando disse: “Vou buscar os meus amantes , pois eles me darão comida e bebida, roupas de lã e de linho, azeite e vinho.”
6 Therefore, behold me! hedging up her way, with thorns,and I will wall her in, and, her footpaths, shall she not find.
6 — Portanto, vou pôr ao redor dela uma cerca de espinhos e vou construir um muro na estrada, para que ela não encontre o caminho.
7 And, when she shall pursue her lovers, and not overtake them, and shall seek them and not find, then will she say, Let me go my way now! and return unto my first husband, for it was better with me, then, than, now!
7 Ela correrá atrás dos seus amantes, mas não os alcançará; irá procurá-los, mas não os encontrará. Então dirá: “Vou voltar para o meu marido, pois, quando vivia com ele, eu era mais feliz do que agora.”
8 But, she, owneth not, that, I, gave herthe corn, and the new wine and the oil,silver, also increased I unto her, and gold they offered to Baal!
8 Ela não compreendeu que fui eu que lhe dei o trigo, o vinho e o azeite; fui eu que lhe dei muitos presentes de prata e de ouro, que ela ofereceu ao deus Baal .
9 Therefore, will I again take away my corn, in the time thereof, and my new wine, in the season thereof,and will recover my wool and my flax to hide her shame.
9 Portanto, quando chegar o tempo da colheita, eu tomarei dessa mulher o meu trigo e o meu vinho e levarei embora as roupas de lã e de linho que tinha dado para ela vestir.
10 Now, therefore, will I expose her unseemliness, before the eyes of her lovers,and no, man, shall deliver her out of my hand!
10 Agora vou deixá-la completamente nua na frente dos seus amantes, e ninguém a livrará do meu poder.
11 And I will cause to cease all her mirth, her pilgrim-festival, her new moon and her sabbath,and her every appointed meeting;
11 Acabarei com toda a sua alegria: não haverá mais festas anuais ou festas mensais, nem as festas dos sábados, nem qualquer outra festa.
12 And will lay waste her vine and her fig- tree, as to which she hath said, A present, are they for myself, which my lovers, have given me,and I will make of them a thicket, and the wild beasts of the field shall devour them.
12 Eu destruirei as suas plantações de uvas e as suas figueiras que ela disse que recebeu como pagamento dos seus amantes. Só ficará mato, e os animais selvagens devorarão tudo.
13 So will I visit upon her the days of the Baals, unto whom she used to burn incense, and decked herself with her nose-ring and her jewelry, and went her way after her lovers,whereas, me, she forgat, Declareth Yahweh.
13 Ela me abandonou, adorou as imagens do deus Baal e queimou incenso como oferta a ele. Ela também se enfeitou com anéis e joias e correu atrás dos seus amantes. Por causa de tudo isso, eu a castigarei. Eu, o Senhor , estou falando.
14 Therefore, lo! I, am going to persuade her, and, though I conduct her forth into wilderness, yet will I speak unto her heart.
14 Deus disse ao povo de Israel: — Vou seduzir a minha amada e levá-la de novo para o deserto, onde lhe falarei do meu amor.
15 Then will I give to her her vineyards from thence, and the vale of Achor for a door of hope,and she will respond there, as in the days of her youth, and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt. \fs15
15 Ali, eu devolverei a ela as suas plantações de uvas e transformarei o vale da Desgraça em uma porta de esperança. Então ela falará comigo como fazia no tempo em que era moça, quando saiu do Egito.
16 And it shall come to pass, in that day, Declareth Yahweh, that she will call me Ishi, and will not call me any more, Baali.
16 Mais uma vez ela me chamará de “Meu marido” em vez de me chamar de “Meu Baal ”.
17 So will I take away the names of the Baals, out of her mouth,and they shall not be called to mind any more, by their name. \fs15
17 Nunca mais deixarei que ela diga o nome Baal ; nunca mais se falará desse deus. Sou eu, o Senhor , quem está falando.
18 And I will solemnize to them a covenant, in that day, with the wild-beast of the field, and with the bird of the heavens, and the creeping thing of the ground,and, bow and sword and battle, will I break in pieces out of the land, so will I cause them to lie down, in security.
18 — Naquele dia, farei um acordo com os animais selvagens, com as aves e com as cobras, para que não ataquem a minha amada. Quebrarei as armas de guerra, os arcos e as espadas; não haverá mais guerra, e o meu povo viverá em paz e segurança.
19 And I will take thee unto myself, unto times age-abiding,yea I will take thee unto myself, in righteousness and in justice, and in lovingkindness, and in abounding compassion:
19 — Israel, eu casarei com você, e para sempre você será minha legítima esposa. Eu a tratarei com amor e carinho
20 Yea I will take thee unto myself, in faithfulness,So shalt thou know Yahweh.
20 e serei um marido fiel. Então você se dedicará a mim, o Senhor .
21 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will respond, Declareth Yahweh, I will respond to the heavens,and, they, shall respond to the earth;
21 Naquele tempo, serei o Deus que atende: atenderei o pedido dos céus; os céus atenderão o pedido da terra, dando-lhe chuvas;
22 And, the earth, shall respond to the corn, and to the new wine and to the oil,and, they, shall respond to Jezreel \fs15
22 e a terra responderá produzindo trigo, uvas e azeitonas. Assim eu atenderei as orações do meu povo de Israel .
23 So will I sow her unto me in the land, and will have compassion upon the uncompassionated one,and will say to him who was No-people-of-mine, My people, thou art, and, he, shall say, My God! \fs15
23 Plantarei o meu povo na Terra Prometida para que eles sejam a minha própria plantação. E eu amarei aquela que se chama Não-Amada; para aquele que se chama Não-Meu-Povo eu direi: “Você é o meu povo”, e ele responderá: “Tu és o meu Deus”.
