1 And, calling near his twelve disciples, he gave them authority over impure spirits,so as to be casting them out, and curing every disease and every infirmity.
1 Tendo Jesus chamado os seus doze discípulos, deu-lhes autoridade sobre espíritos imundos para os expulsar e para curar todo tipo de doenças e enfermidades.
2 Now, the twelve apostles names, are these:first Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother,and James, the son of Zebedee, and John, his brother;
2 Ora, os nomes dos doze apóstolos são estes: primeiro, Simão, chamado Pedro, e André, seu irmão; Tiago, filho de Zebedeu, e João, seu irmão;
3 Philip, and Bartholomew,Thomas, and Matthew, the tax-collector; James, the son of Alphaeus, and Thadaeus;
3 Filipe e Bartolomeu; Tomé e Mateus, o publicano; Tiago, filho de Alfeu, e Tadeu;
4 Simon, the zealot, and Judas Iscariot, who also delivered him up.
4 Simão, o Zelote, e Judas Iscariotes, que foi quem o traiu.
5 These twelve, Jesus sent forth, charging them, saying:Into any way to the nations, do not depart,and, into any city of Samaritans, do not enter;
5 Jesus enviou esses doze, dando-lhes as seguintes instruções:
6 But be going, rather, unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
6 mas, de preferência, procurem as ovelhas perdidas da casa de Israel.
7 And, as ye go, proclaim, saying, The kingdom of the heavens hath drawn near!
7 Pelo caminho, preguem que está próximo o Reino dos Céus.
8 Be curing, the sick, raising, the dead,cleansing, lepers, casting out, demons: freely, ye have, received, freely, give.
8 Curem enfermos, ressuscitem mortos, purifiquem leprosos, expulsem demônios. Vocês receberam de graça; portanto, deem de graça.
9 Ye may procureneither gold, nor silver, nor copper, for your belts,
9 Não levem ouro, nem prata, nem cobre em seus cintos;
10 neither satchel for journey, nor two tunics, nor sandals, nor staff; for, worthy, is the labourer, of his maintenance.
10 nem sacola para o caminho, nem duas túnicas, nem sandálias, nem bordão; porque o trabalhador é digno do seu alimento.
11 And, into whatsoever city or village ye enter, search out who in it is, worthy, and, there, abide, till ye go forth.
11 — E, em qualquer cidade ou aldeia em que vocês entrarem, perguntem quem nelas é digno; e fiquem ali até saírem daquele lugar.
12 And, as ye enter the house, salute it;
12 Ao entrarem na casa, saúdem-na.
13 And, if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it, but, if it be not worthy, let your peace, unto you, return.
13 Se a casa for digna, que a paz de vocês venha sobre ela; se, porém, não for digna, a paz voltará para vocês.
14 And, whosoever shall neither welcome you, nor hear your words, as ye go forth outside that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet:
14 Se alguém não quiser recebê-los nem ouvir as palavras de vocês, ao saírem daquela casa ou daquela cidade, sacudam o pó dos pés.
15 Verily, I say unto you,More tolerable, will it be, for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for, that, city!
15 Em verdade lhes digo que haverá menos rigor para Sodoma e Gomorra, no Dia do Juízo, do que para aquela cidade.
16 Lo! I, send you forth as sheep amidst wolves; become ye thereforeprudent, as serpents, and simple, as doves.
16 — Eis que eu os envio como ovelhas para o meio de lobos. Portanto, sejam prudentes como as serpentes e simples como as pombas.
17 But beware of men; for they will deliver you up into high-councils, and, in their synagogues, will they scourge you,
17 Tenham cuidado com os homens, porque eles os entregarão aos tribunais e os açoitarão nas suas sinagogas.
18 And, before both governor and kings, shall ye be brought, for my sakefor a witness to them and the nations.
18 Por minha causa vocês serão levados à presença de governadores e de reis, para lhes servir de testemunho, a eles e aos gentios.
19 And, when they deliver you up, be not anxious how or what ye shall speak,for it shall be given you in that hour what ye shall speak;
19 E, quando entregarem vocês, não se preocupem quanto a como ou o que irão falar, porque, naquela hora, lhes será concedido o que vocês dirão.
20 For it is not, ye, who are speaking, but, the Spirit of your Father, that is speaking in you.
20 Afinal, não são vocês que estão falando, mas o Espírito do Pai de vocês é quem fala por meio de vocês.
21 And, brother, will deliver up, brother, unto death, and, father, child,and, children, will rise up, against parents, and will put them to death.
21 — Um irmão entregará à morte outro irmão, e o pai entregará o filho. Haverá filhos que se levantarão contra os seus pais e os matarão.
22 And ye will be hated by all, because of my name,but, he that endureth throughout, the same, shall be saved.
22 Todos odiarão vocês por causa do meu nome; aquele, porém, que ficar firme até o fim, esse será salvo.
23 And, when they persecute you in this city, flee into another,for, verily, I say unto you, in nowise shall ye finish the cities of Israel, till, he Son of Man, come.
23 Quando, porém, perseguirem vocês numa cidade, fujam para outra. Porque em verdade lhes digo que não terão percorrido as cidades de Israel, até que venha o Filho do Homem.
24 A, disciple, is not above, the teacher, nor, a servant, above, his lord:
24 — O discípulo não está acima do seu mestre, nem o servo está acima do seu senhor.
25 Sufficient for the disciple, that he become, as his teacher, and, the servant, as, his lord. If, the master of the house, Beelzebul, they called, how much more, the men of his house!
25 Basta ao discípulo ser como o seu mestre, e ao servo ser como o seu senhor. Se chamaram o dono da casa de Belzebu, quanto mais os membros da sua casa!
26 Then do not fear them,for, nothing hath been covered, which shall not be, uncovered, and, hidden, which shall not be, made known.
26 — Portanto, não tenham medo deles. Pois não há nada encoberto que não venha a ser revelado, nem oculto que não venha a ser conhecido.
27 What I am saying to you in the darkness, tell ye in the light,and, what into the ear ye are hearing, proclaim ye on the housetops.
27 O que lhes digo às escuras, repitam a plena luz; e o que é dito para vocês ao pé do ouvido, proclamem dos telhados.
28 And be not in fear, by reason of them that are killing the body,and, the soul, are not able to kill. But fear, rather, him who is able, both soul and body, to destroy in gehenna!
28 Não temam os que matam o corpo, mas não podem matar a alma; pelo contrário, temam aquele que pode fazer perecer no inferno tanto a alma como o corpo.
29 Are not, two sparrows, for a farthing, sold? And, one from among them, shall not fall upon the ground, without your Father;
29 — Não se vendem dois pardais por uma moedinha? Entretanto, nenhum deles cairá no chão sem o consentimento do Pai de vocês.
30 But, even the hairs of, your, head, have all been numbered.
30 E, quanto a vocês, até os cabelos da cabeça de vocês estão todos contados.
31 Then be not in fearthan many sparrows, better are, ye!
31 Portanto, não temam! Vocês valem bem mais do que muitos pardais.
32 Every one therefore who shall confess me before men, I also, will confess, him, before my Father who is in the heavens;
32 — Portanto, todo aquele que me confessar diante dos outros, também eu o confessarei diante de meu Pai, que está nos céus;
33 But, whoever shall deny me before men, I also, will deny, him, before my Father who is in the heavens.
33 mas aquele que me negar diante das pessoas, também eu o negarei diante de meu Pai, que está nos céus.
34 Do not think, that I came to thrust peace upon the earth,I came not to thrust, peace, but, a sword;
34 — Não pensem que eu vim trazer paz à terra; não vim trazer paz, mas espada.
35 For I came to set at variancea man, against, his father, and, a daughter, against, her mother, and, a bride, against, her mother-in-law;
35 Pois vim causar divisão entre o homem e o seu pai; entre a filha e a sua mãe e entre a nora e a sua sogra.
36 And, a man foes, are, they of his own house.
36 Assim, os inimigos de uma pessoa serão os da sua própria casa.
37 He that loveth father or mother above me, is not, worthy, of me,and, he that loveth son or daughter above me, is not, worthy, of me;
37 — Quem ama o seu pai ou a sua mãe mais do que a mim não é digno de mim; quem ama o seu filho ou a sua filha mais do que a mim não é digno de mim;
38 And, he that doth not take his cross and follow after me, is not, worthy, of me.
38 e quem não toma a sua cruz e vem após mim não é digno de mim.
39 He that hath found his life, shall lose it,and, he that hath lost his life, for my sake, shall find it.
39 Quem acha a sua vida a perderá; e quem perde a vida por minha causa, esse a achará.
40 He that giveth welcome unto you, unto me, giveth welcome, and, he that, unto me, giveth welcome, giveth welcomeunto him that sent me forth.
40 — Quem recebe vocês é a mim que recebe; e quem recebe a mim recebe aquele que me enviou.
41 He that giveth welcome unto a prophet, in the name of a prophet, the reward of a prophet, shall receive; and, he that giveth welcome unto a righteous man, in the name of a righteous man, the reward of a righteous man, shall receive;
41 Quem recebe um profeta, no caráter de profeta, receberá a recompensa de profeta; quem recebe um justo, no caráter de justo, receberá a recompensa de justo.
42 And, whosoever shall give to drinkunto one of these little onesa cup of cold water only, in the name of a disciple, Verily, I say unto you, in nowise, shall lose his reward!
42 E quem der de beber, ainda que seja um copo de água fria, a um destes pequeninos, por ser este meu discípulo, em verdade lhes digo que de modo nenhum perderá a sua recompensa.
