1 And he was saying to them: Verily, say unto youThere, are, certain of those here standing, who shall in nowise taste of death, until they see the kingdom of God, already come in power.
1 Disse-lhes mais: Em verdade vos digo que, dos que aqui estão, alguns há que de modo nenhum provarão a morte até que vejam o reino de Deus já chegando com poder.
2 And, after six days, Jesus taketh with him Peter and James and John, and bringeth them up into a high mountain, apart, alone,and he was transformed before them;
2 Seis dias depois tomou Jesus consigo a Pedro, a Tiago, e a João, e os levou à parte sós, a um alto monte; e foi transfigurado diante deles;
3 and his garments became brilliant, exceeding white, such as, no fuller on the earth, is able, so, to whiten.
3 as suas vestes tornaram-se resplandecentes, extremamente brancas, tais como nenhum lavandeiro sobre a terra as poderia branquear.
4 And there appeared unto them Elijah, with Moses,and they were conversing with Jesus.
4 E apareceu-lhes Elias com Moisés, e falavam com Jesus.
5 And Peter, answering, saith unto JesusRabbi! it is, delightful, for us to be, here,let us therefore make three tents, for thee, one, and, for Moses, one, and, for Elijah, one;
5 Pedro, tomando a palavra, disse a Jesus: Mestre, bom é estarmos aqui; façamos, pois, três cabanas, uma para ti, outra para Moisés, e outra para Elias.
6 for he knew not what he should answer, for, greatly affrighted, had they become.
6 Pois não sabia o que havia de dizer, porque ficaram atemorizados.
7 And there came a cloud, overshadowing them, and there came a voice, out of the cloud,This is, my Son, the Beloved, Be hearkening unto him.
7 Nisto veio uma nuvem que os cobriu, e dela saiu uma voz que dizia: Este é o meu Filho amado; a ele ouvi.
8 And, suddenly looking round, no longer, saw they, anyone, with them, save, Jesus only.
8 De repente, tendo olhado em redor, não viram mais a ninguém consigo, senão só a Jesus.
9 And, as they were coming down out of the mountain, he charged them, that, unto no one, they should narrate what they had seen, save whenever the Son of man, from among the dead should arise.
9 Enquanto desciam do monte, ordenou-lhes que a ninguém contassem o que tinham visto, até que o Filho do homem ressurgisse dentre os mortos.
10 And, the word, they held fast unto themselves, discussing what was, the rising from among the dead.
10 E eles guardaram o caso em segredo, indagando entre si o que seria o ressurgir dentre os mortos.
11 And they began to question him, sayingThe Scribes, say, that, Elijah, must needs come, first?
11 Então lhe perguntaram: Por que dizem os escribas que é necessário que Elias venha primeiro?
12 And, he, said unto themElijah, indeed, coming first, restoreth all things; and yet, how is it written, regarding the Son of Man, that, many things, he must suffer, and be set at nought?
12 Respondeu-lhes Jesus: Na verdade Elias havia de vir primeiro, a restaurar todas as coisas; e como é que está escrito acerca do Filho do homem que ele deva padecer muito a ser aviltado?
13 But I say unto youElijah also, hath come, and they have done with him, whatsoever they pleased,according as it is written regarding him.
13 Digo-vos, porém, que Elias já veio, e fizeram-lhe tudo quanto quiseram, como dele está escrito.
14 And, coming unto the disciples, they saw a large multitude around them, and Scribes discussing with them.
14 Quando chegaram aonde estavam os discípulos, viram ao redor deles uma grande multidão, e alguns escribas a discutirem com eles.
15 And, straightway, all the multitude, seeing him, were greatly amazed, and, running near, began saluting him.
15 E logo toda a multidão, vendo a Jesus, ficou grandemente surpreendida; e correndo todos para ele, o saudavam.
16 And he questioned themWhat are ye discussing with them?
16 Perguntou ele aos escribas: Que é que discutis com eles?
17 And one out of the multitude answered himTeacher! I brought my son unto thee, having a dumb spirit;
17 Respondeu-lhe um dentre a multidão: Mestre, eu te trouxe meu filho, que tem um espírito mudo;
18 and, wheresoever it seizeth him, it teareth him, and he foameth, and grindeth his teeth, and weareth himself out;and I spake to thy disciples, that they should cast it out, and they could not.
18 e este, onde quer que o apanha, convulsiona-o, de modo que ele espuma, range os dentes, e vai definhando; e eu pedi aos teus discípulos que o expulsassem, e não puderam.
19 But, he, answering, saithO faithless generation! how long, shall I be with you? how long, shall I bear with you? Bring him unto me!
19 Ao que Jesus lhes respondeu: ó geração incrédula! até quando estarei convosco? até quando vos hei de suportar? Trazei-mo.
20 And they brought him unto him. And, seeing him, the spirit, straightway tare him,and, falling upon the ground, he wallowed, foaming.
20 Então lho trouxeram; e quando ele viu a Jesus, o espírito imediatamente o convulsionou; e o endemoninhado, caindo por terra, revolvia-se espumando.
21 And he questioned his fatherHow long a time, is it, that, this, hath befallen him? and he saidFrom childhood;
21 E perguntou Jesus ao pai dele: Há quanto tempo sucede-lhe isto? Respondeu ele: Desde a infância;
22 and, many times, hath it cast him, both into fire, and into waters, that it might destroy him; but, if anything be possible to thee, help us, have compassion upon us.
22 e muitas vezes o tem lançado no fogo, e na água, para o destruir; mas se podes fazer alguma coisa, tem compaixão de nós e ajuda-nos.
23 And, Jesus, said unto himAs for this, If it be possible to thee, all things, are possible, to him who hath faith.
23 Ao que lhe disse Jesus: Se podes!-tudo é possível ao que crê.
24 Straightway crying out, the father of the child was sayingI have faith! help my, want, of faith.
24 Imediatamente o pai do menino, clamando, {com lágrimas} disse: Creio! Ajuda a minha incredulidade.
25 And Jesus, seeing that a multitude is running together, rebuked the impure spirit, saying unto itThou dumb and deaf spirit, I, give orders unto thee: Come forth out of him, and do not, any more, enter into him.
25 E Jesus, vendo que a multidão, correndo, se aglomerava, repreendeu o espírito imundo, dizendo: Espírito mudo e surdo, eu te ordeno: Sai dele, e nunca mais entres nele.
26 And, crying out, and greatly mangling him, it came forth; and he became as if dead, so that, the more part, were sayingHe is dead!
26 E ele, gritando, e agitando-o muito, saiu; e ficou o menino como morto, de modo que a maior parte dizia: Morreu.
27 But, Jesus, grasping his hand, raised him, and he stood up.
27 Mas Jesus, tomando-o pela mão, o ergueu; e ele ficou em pé.
28 And, when he had gone into a house, his disciples, privately, were questioning himWhy, were, we, not able to cast it out?
28 E quando entrou em casa, seus discípulos lhe perguntaram à parte: Por que não pudemos nós expulsá-lo?
29 And he said unto themThis kind, by nothing, can come out, save, by prayer.
29 Respondeu-lhes: Esta casta não sai de modo algum, salvo à força de oração {e jejum.}
30 And, from thence, going forth, they were journeying through Galilee,and he was not wishing that any should get to know it;
30 Depois, tendo partido dali, passavam pela Galiléia, e ele não queria que ninguém o soubesse;
31 for he was teaching his disciples and saying unto them , The Son of Man, is to be delivered up, into the hands of men, and they will slay him,and, being slain, after three days, will he arise.
31 porque ensinava a seus discípulos, e lhes dizia: O Filho do homem será entregue nas mãos dos homens, que o matarão; e morto ele, depois de três dias ressurgirá.
32 But they were not understanding the declaration, and feared, to question, him.
32 Mas eles não entendiam esta palavra, e temiam interrogá-lo.
33 And they came into Capernaum. And, happening to be, in the house, he was questioning themWhat, in the way, were ye discussing?
33 Chegaram a Cafarnaum. E estando ele em casa, perguntou-lhes: Que estáveis discutindo pelo caminho?
34 And they were silent; for, with one another, they had discussed in the way, who should be greatest.
34 Mas eles se calaram, porque pelo caminho haviam discutido entre si qual deles era o maior.
35 And, taking a seat, he addressed the twelve, and saith unto themIf anyone willeth to be, first, he shall be, least of all, and, minister of all.
35 E ele, sentando-se, chamou os doze e lhes disse: se alguém quiser ser o primeiro, será o derradeiro de todos e o servo de todos.
36 And, taking a child, he set it in the midst of them,and, folding it in his arms, said unto them
36 Então tomou uma criança, pô-la no meio deles e, abraçando-a, disse-lhes:
37 Whosoever, unto, one of these children, shall give welcome, upon my name, unto me, giveth welcome; and, whosoever, unto me, giveth welcome, not, unto me, giveth welcome, but, unto him that sent me.
37 Qualquer que em meu nome receber uma destas crianças, a mim me recebe; e qualquer que me recebe a mim, recebe não a mim mas àquele que me enviou.
38 John said unto himTeacher! we saw someone, in thy name, casting out demons,and we forbade him, because he was not following with us.
38 Disse-lhe João: Mestre, vimos um homem que em teu nome expulsava demônios, e nós lho proibimos, porque não nos seguia.
39 But, Jesus, saidDo not forbid him! For, no one, is there, who shall do a work of power in my name, and have power, soon, to revile me;
39 Jesus, porém, respondeu: Não lho proibais; porque ninguém há que faça milagre em meu nome e possa logo depois falar mal de mim;
40 For, whosoever is not, against, us, is, for, us;
40 pois quem não é contra nós, é por nós.
41 For, whosoever shall give you to drink a cup of water, in name that, Christs, ye are, Verily! I say unto you, in nowise, shall lose his reward.
41 Porquanto qualquer que vos der a beber um copo de água em meu nome, porque sois de Cristo, em verdade vos digo que de modo algum perderá a sua recompensa.
42 And, whosoever shall cause to stumble one of these little ones that believe, it is, seemly, for him, rather, if there is hung a large millstone about his neck, and he is cast into the sea.
42 Mas qualquer que fizer tropeçar um destes pequeninos que crêem em mim, melhor lhe fora que se lhe pendurasse ao pescoço uma pedra de moinho, e que fosse lançado no mar.
43 And, if thy hand shall cause thee to stumble, cut it off,it is, seemly, for thee, maimed, to enter into life, rather than having, the two hands, to depart into the gehenna, into the fire that is not quenched;
43 E se a tua mão te fizer tropeçar, corta-a; melhor é entrares na vida aleijado, do que, tendo duas mãos, ires para o inferno, para o fogo que nunca se apaga.
44 — ausente —
44 {onde o seu verme não morre, e o fogo não se apaga.}
45 And, if thy foot be causing thee to stumble, cut it off,it is, seemly, for thee, to enter into life, lame, rather than having, the two feet, to be cast into the gehenna;
45 Ou, se o teu pé te fizer tropeçar, corta-o; melhor é entrares coxo na vida, do que, tendo dois pés, seres lançado no inferno.
46 — ausente —
46 {onde o seu verme não morre, e o fogo não se apaga.}
47 And, if thine eye be causing thee to stumble, thrust it out,it is, seemly, for thee, one-eye, to enter into the kingdom of God, rather than having, two eyes, to be cast into gehenna,
47 Ou, se o teu olho te fizer tropeçar, lança-o fora; melhor é entrares no reino de Deus com um só olho, do que, tendo dois olhos, seres lançado no inferno.
48 Where, their worm, dieth not, and, the fire, is not quenched,
48 onde o seu verme não morre, e o fogo não se apaga.
49 For, everyone, with fire, shall be salted.
49 Porque cada um será salgado com fogo.
50 Salt is, good: but, if, salt, become, saltless, wherewith will ye, prepare, it? Have, within yourselves, salt, and be at peace, one with another.
50 Bom é o sal; mas, se o sal se tornar insípido, com que o haveis de temperar? Tende sal em vós mesmos, e guardai a paz uns com os outros.
