1 And, entering again into Capernaum, after some days, it was heard sayHe is in a house;
1 Dias depois, quando Jesus retornou a Cafarnaum, a notícia de que ele tinha voltado se espalhou rapidamente.
2 and many were gathered together, so that no longer was there room even in the approaches to the door,and he began speaking unto them the word;
2 Em pouco tempo, a casa onde estava hospedado ficou tão cheia que não havia lugar nem do lado de fora da porta. Enquanto ele anunciava a palavra de Deus,
3 and they come, bearing unto him a paralytic, upborne by four,
3 quatro homens vieram carregando um paralítico numa maca.
4 and, not being able to get near him by reason of the multitude, they uncovered the roof where he was, and, having broken it up, they began letting down the couch whereon the paralytic was lying;
4 Por causa da multidão, não tinham como levá-lo até Jesus. Então abriram um buraco no teto, acima de onde Jesus estava. Em seguida, baixaram o homem na maca, bem na frente dele.
5 and, Jesus, seeing their faith, saith unto the paralyticChild! forgiven are thy sins!
5 Ao ver a fé que eles tinham, Jesus disse ao paralítico: “Filho, seus pecados estão perdoados”.
6 Now there were certain of the Scribes there, sitting and deliberating in their hearts,
6 Alguns dos mestres da lei que estavam ali sentados pensaram:
7 Why doth, this, man thus talk? he is speaking profanely! Who can forgive sins, save one, God?
7 “O que ele está dizendo? Isso é blasfêmia! Somente Deus pode perdoar pecados!”.
8 And Jesus, straightway, taking note in his spirit, that thus they are deliberating within themselves, saith unto them Why, these things, are ye deliberating in your hearts?
8 Jesus logo percebeu o que eles estavam pensando e perguntou: “Por que vocês questionam essas coisas em seu coração?
9 Which is easierto say unto the paralytic, Forgiven are thy sins, or to say, Rise, and take up thy couch, and be walking?
9 O que é mais fácil dizer ao paralítico: ‘Seus pecados estão perdoados’ ou ‘Levante-se, pegue sua maca e ande’?
10 But, that ye may know that the Son of Man hath authority to be forgiving sins upon the earth, he saith to the paralytic:
10 Mas eu lhes mostrarei que o Filho do Homem tem autoridade na terra para perdoar pecados”. Então disse ao paralítico:
11 To thee, I say, Rise, take up thy couch, and be going thy way unto thy house.
11 “Levante-se, pegue sua maca e vá para casa”.
12 And he arose, and, straightway taking up the couch, went forth before all,so that all were beside themselves and were glorifying God, saying Thus, we never saw it!
12 O homem se levantou de um salto, pegou sua maca e saiu andando diante de todos. A multidão ficou admirada e louvava a Deus, exclamando: “Nunca vimos nada igual!”.
13 And he went forth again by the sea,and all the multitude was coming unto him, and he began teaching them.
13 Em seguida, Jesus saiu outra vez para a beira do mar e ensinou as multidões que vinham até ele.
14 And, passing by, he saw Levi, the son of Alphaeus, sitting over the tax-office,and saith unto himBe following me! And, arising, he followed him.
14 Enquanto caminhava por ali, viu Levi, filho de Alfeu, sentado no lugar onde se coletavam os impostos. “Siga-me”, disse-lhe Jesus, e Levi se levantou e o seguiu.
15 And it cometh to pass, that he is reclining in his house, and many tax-collectors and sinners were reclining with Jesus and his disciples; for there were many, and they began following him.
15 Mais tarde, na casa de Levi, Jesus e seus discípulos estavam à mesa, acompanhados de um grande número de cobradores de impostos e outros pecadores, pois eram muitos os que o seguiam.
16 And the Scribes and Pharisees, seeing that he was eating with the sinners and the tax-collectors, began saying unto his disciplesWith the tax-collectors and sinners, is he eating?
16 Quando alguns fariseus, mestres da lei, viram Jesus comer com cobradores de impostos e outros pecadores, perguntaram a seus discípulos: “Por que ele come com cobradores de impostos e pecadores?”.
17 And, hearing it, Jesus saith unto themNo need, have the strong of a physician, but they who are sick, I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.
17 Ao ouvir isso, Jesus lhes disse: “As pessoas saudáveis não precisam de médico, mas sim os doentes. Não vim para chamar os justos, mas sim os pecadores”.
18 And the disciples and the Pharisees were fasting; and they come and say unto himFor what cause, do, the disciples and the disciples of the Pharisees, fast, whereas, thy disciples, fast not?
18 Certa vez, quando os discípulos de João e os fariseus estavam jejuando, algumas pessoas vieram a Jesus e perguntaram: “Por que seus discípulos não têm o hábito de jejuar como os discípulos de João e os discípulos dos fariseus?”.
19 And Jesus said unto themIs it possible for the sons of the bridechamber, while the bridegroom is with them, to be fasting? So long as they have the bridegroom with them, it is impossible, to fast.
19 Jesus respondeu: “Por acaso os convidados de um casamento jejuam enquanto festejam com o noivo? Não podem jejuar enquanto o noivo está com eles.
20 But there will come days, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and, then, they will fast, in that day.
20 Um dia, porém, o noivo lhes será tirado, e então jejuarão.
21 No one, seweth a patch of unshrunk cloth upon an old mantle,otherwise, at least, the shrinking teareth away from itthe new from the oldand, a worse rent is made.
21 “Além disso, ninguém remendaria uma roupa velha usando pano novo. O pano novo encolheria a roupa velha e a rasgaria, deixando um buraco ainda maior.
22 And, no one, poureth new wine into fold skins,otherwise, at least, the wine will burst the skins, and the wine is lost, and, the skins. But new wine is for unused skins.
22 “E ninguém colocaria vinho novo em velhos recipientes de couro. O vinho os arrebentaria, e tanto o vinho como os recipientes se estragariam. Vinho novo precisa de recipientes novos”.
23 And it came to pass, that he, on the Sabbath, was passing through the cornfields, and his disciples began to be going forward, plucking the ears of corn.
23 Num sábado, enquanto Jesus caminhava pelos campos de cereal, seus discípulos começaram a colher espigas.
24 And, the Pharisees, were saying,See! why are they doing, on the Sabbath, what is not allowed?
24 Os fariseus lhe perguntaram: “Por que seus discípulos desobedecem à lei colhendo cereal no sábado?”.
25 And he saith unto themHave ye never read what David did, when he had need and hungered,he, and they who were with him:
25 Jesus respondeu: “Vocês não leram nas Escrituras o que fez Davi quando ele e seus companheiros tiveram fome?
26 how he entered into the house of God, while Abiathar was High-priest, and, the presence-bread, did eat,which it is not allowed to eat, save unto the priests,and gave, unto them also who were with him?
26 Ele entrou na casa de Deus, nos dias em que Abiatar era sumo sacerdote, comeu os pães sagrados que só os sacerdotes tinham permissão de comer e os deu também a seus companheiros”.
27 And he was saying unto themThe Sabbath, for man, was made, and not, man, for, the Sabbath:
27 Então Jesus disse: “O sábado foi feito por causa do homem, e não o homem por causa do sábado.
28 So that the Son of Man is, Lord, even of the Sabbath.
28 Portanto, o Filho do Homem é senhor até mesmo do sábado”.
