1 And he began to be speaking unto them, in parables,A man planted, a vineyard, and put round it a wall, and digged a wine-vat, and built a tower,and let it out to husbandmen; and left home.
1 Então Jesus começou a lhes ensinar por meio de parábolas: “Um homem plantou um vinhedo. Construiu uma cerca ao seu redor, um tanque de prensar e uma torre para o guarda. Depois, arrendou o vinhedo a alguns lavradores e partiu para um lugar distante.
2 And he sent forth, unto the husbandmen, in the season, a servant, that, from the husbandmen, he might receive of the fruits of the vineyard;
2 No tempo da colheita da uva, enviou um de seus servos para receber sua parte da produção.
3 and, taking him, they beat him, and sent him away, empty.
3 Os lavradores agarraram o servo, o espancaram e o mandaram de volta de mãos vazias.
4 And, again, sent he forth unto them, another servant; and, him, they smote on the head, and dishonoured.
4 Então o dono da terra enviou outro servo, mas eles o insultaram e bateram na cabeça dele.
5 And another sent he forth; and, him, they slew. And many others; some, indeed beating, and, others, slaying.
5 O próximo servo que ele mandou foi morto. Outros servos que ele enviou foram espancados ou mortos,
6 Yet one, had he, a son beloved: he sent him forth last unto them, sayingThey will pay deference unto my son!
6 até que só restou um: seu filho muito amado. Por fim, o dono o enviou, pois pensou: ‘Certamente respeitarão meu filho’.
7 But, those husbandmen, unto themselves, saidThis, is the heir: Come! let us slay him, and, ours, shall be, the inheritance.
7 “Os lavradores, porém, disseram uns aos outros: ‘Aí vem o herdeiro da propriedade. Vamos matá-lo e tomar posse desta terra!’.
8 And, taking, they slew him, and cast him forth outside the vineyard.
8 Então o agarraram, o mataram e jogaram seu corpo para fora do vinhedo.
9 What will the lord of the vineyard do? He will come, and destroy the husbandmen, and let the vineyard unto others.
9 “O que vocês acham que o dono do vinhedo fará?”, perguntou Jesus. “Ele virá, matará os lavradores e arrendará o vinhedo a outros.
10 Have ye not, this scripture, readA stone which the builders rejected, the same, hath become head of the corner!
10 Vocês nunca leram nas Escrituras: ‘A pedra que os construtores rejeitaram se tornou a pedra angular.
11 From the Lord, hath this come to pass, and is marvellous in our eyes?
11 Isso é obra do Senhor e é maravilhosa de ver’?”
12 And they were seeking, to secure, him,and were in fear of the multitude; for they perceived that, against them, the parable he had spoken. And, leaving him, they departed.
12 Os líderes religiosos queriam prender Jesus, pois perceberam que eram eles os lavradores maus a que Jesus se referia. No entanto, por medo da multidão, deixaram-no e foram embora.
13 And they send forth unto him certain of the Pharisees and of the Herodians, that they might, catch, him, in discourse.
13 Mais tarde, os líderes enviaram alguns fariseus e membros do partido de Herodes com o objetivo de levar Jesus a dizer algo que desse motivo para o prenderem.
14 And, coming, they say unto himTeacher! we know that, true, thou art, and it concerneth thee not about anyone,for thou lookest not unto the face of men; but, in truth, the way of God, dost teach:Is it allowable to give tax unto Caesar, or not? Should we give, or should we not give?
14 Disseram: “Mestre, sabemos como o senhor é honesto. É imparcial e não demonstra favoritismo. Ensina o caminho de Deus de acordo com a verdade. Agora, diga-nos: É certo pagar impostos a César ou não?
15 But, he, knowing their hypocrisy, said unto themWhy are ye, tempting, me? Bring me a denary, that I may see it.
15 Devemos pagar ou não?”. Jesus percebeu a hipocrisia deles e disse: “Por que vocês tentam me apanhar numa armadilha? Mostrem-me uma moeda de prata,
16 And, they, brought one. And he saith unto themWhose, is this image, and the inscription? And, they, said unto himCaesars.
16 Quando lhe deram a moeda, ele disse: “De quem são a imagem e o título nela gravados?”. “De César”, responderam.
17 And, Jesus, saidthe things of Caesar, render, unto Caesar, and, the things of God, unto God. And they were marvelling at him.
17 “Então deem a César o que pertence a César, e deem a Deus o que pertence a Deus”, disse ele. Sua resposta os deixou muito admirados.
18 And there come Sadducees unto him,who, indeed sayResurrection, there is none! and they were questioning him, saying
18 Depois vieram a Jesus alguns saduceus, líderes religiosos que afirmam não haver ressurreição dos mortos, e perguntaram:
19 Teacher! Moses, wrote for us, thatIf ones brother die, and leave behind a wife, and leave no child, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.
19 “Mestre, Moisés nos deu uma lei segundo a qual se um homem morrer sem deixar filhos, o irmão dele deve se casar com a viúva e ter um filho que dará continuidade ao nome do irmão.
20 Seven brethren, there were: and, the first, took a wife, and, dying, left no seed,
20 Numa família havia sete irmãos. O mais velho se casou e morreu sem deixar filhos.
21 And, the second, took her, and died, not leaving behind seed,and, the third, likewise,
21 O segundo irmão se casou com a viúva, mas também morreu sem deixar filhos. Então o terceiro irmão se casou com ela.
22 And, the seven, left no seed; last of all, the woman also, died:
22 O mesmo aconteceu até o sétimo irmão, e nenhum deixou filhos. Por fim, a mulher também morreu.
23 In the resurrection,of, which, of them shall she be, wife? For, the seven, had her to wife.
23 Diga-nos, de quem ela será esposa na ressurreição? Afinal, os sete se casaram com ela”.
24 Jesus said unto themAre ye not, for this cause, deceiving yourselves, knowing neither the Scriptures, nor the power of God?
24 Jesus respondeu: “O erro de vocês está em não conhecerem as Escrituras nem o poder de Deus.
25 For, when, from among the dead, they rise, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are like messengers in the heavens.
25 Pois, quando os mortos ressuscitarem, não se casarão nem se darão em casamento. Nesse sentido, serão como os anjos do céu.
26 But, as touching the dead, that they, do rise,Have ye not read in the book of Moses, at the Bush, how God spake unto him, sayingI the God of Abraham, and God of Isaac, and God of Jacob:
26 “Agora, quanto a haver ressurreição dos mortos, vocês não leram a esse respeito nos escritos de Moisés, no relato sobre o arbusto em chamas? Deus disse a Moisés: ‘Eu sou o Deus de Abraão, o Deus de Isaque e o Deus de Jacó’.
27 He is not a God of, dead, men, but of, living. Greatly, are ye deceiving yourselves.
27 Portanto, ele é o Deus dos vivos, e não dos mortos. Vocês estão completamente enganados!”.
28 And one of the Scribes, coming near, hearing them discussing, seeing that, well, he had answered them, began to question himWhich is the chief commandment of all?
28 Um dos mestres da lei estava ali ouvindo a discussão. Ao perceber que Jesus tinha respondido bem, perguntou: “De todos os mandamentos, qual é o mais importante?”.
29 Jesus answeredThe chief is: Hear! O Israel,The Lord our God, is, one Lord;
29 Jesus respondeu: “O mandamento mais importante é este: ‘Ouça, ó Israel! O Senhor, nosso Deus, é o único Senhor.
30 Therefore shalt thou love the Lord thy God, with all thy heart, and with all thy soul,and with all thy mind; and with all thy strength.
30 Ame o Senhor, seu Deus, de todo o seu coração, de toda a sua alma, de toda a sua mente e de todas as suas forças’.
31 The second, is, thisThou shalt love, thy neighbour, as thyself. Greater than these, other commandment, is there none.
31 O segundo é igualmente importante: ‘Ame o seu próximo como a si mesmo’. Nenhum outro mandamento é maior que esses”.
32 The Scribe said unto himWell, Teacher! in truth, hast thou saidHe is, One, and there is none other, than he;
32 O mestre da lei respondeu: “Muito bem, mestre. O senhor falou a verdade ao dizer que há só um Deus, e nenhum outro.
33 And, to love him, with all the heart, and with all the understanding,and with all the might; and to love ones neighbour as ones self, is, abundantly more, than all the whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.
33 E sei que é importante amá-lo de todo o meu coração, de todo o meu entendimento e de todas as minhas forças, e amar o meu próximo como a mim mesmo. É mais importante que oferecer todos os holocaustos e sacrifícios exigidos pela lei”.
34 And, Jesus, seeing him, that, with intelligence he answered, said unto himNot far, art thou from the kingdom of God! And, no one, any longer, was daring to, question, him.
34 Ao perceber quanto o homem compreendia, Jesus disse: “Você não está longe do reino de Deus”. Depois disso, ninguém se atreveu a lhe fazer mais perguntas.
35 And Jesus, answering, was saying, as he taught in the templeHow say the Scribes that, the Christ, is, Son of David?
35 Mais tarde, enquanto ensinava o povo no templo, Jesus fez a seguinte pergunta: “Por que os mestres da lei afirmam que o Cristo é filho de Davi?
36 David himself, hath said, by the Holy Spirit,The Lord, hath said unto, my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, until I put thy foes beneath thy feet.
36 O próprio Davi, falando por meio do Espírito Santo, disse: ‘O Senhor disse ao meu Senhor: Sente-se no lugar de honra à minha direita até que eu humilhe seus inimigos debaixo de seus pés’.
37 David himself, calleth him, Lord: whence, then, is he, his own soul? And, the great multitude, was hearing him gladly.
37 Uma vez que Davi chamou o Cristo de ‘meu Senhor’, como ele pode ser filho de Davi?”. E a grande multidão o ouvia com prazer.
38 And, in his teaching, he was sayingBeware of the Scribes, who desire, in robes, to be walking about, and salutations in the markets,
38 Jesus também ensinou: “Cuidado com os mestres da lei! Eles gostam de se exibir com vestes longas e de receber saudações respeitosas quando andam pelas praças.
39 And first seats in the synagogues, and first couches in the chief meals,
39 E como gostam de sentar-se nos lugares de honra nas sinagogas e à cabeceira da mesa nos banquetes!
40 Who devour widows houses, and, for a pretence, are long in prayer: these, shall receive a more surpassing judgment.
40 No entanto, tomam posse dos bens das viúvas de maneira desonesta e, depois, para dar a impressão de piedade, fazem longas orações em público. Por causa disso, serão duramente castigados”.
41 And, taking his seat over against the treasury, he was observing how, the multitude, was casting in copper into the treasury, and, man rich, were casting in, much.
41 Jesus sentou-se perto da caixa de ofertas do templo e ficou observando o povo colocar o dinheiro. Muitos ricos contribuíam com grandes quantias.
42 And there came, one destitute, widow, and cast in two mites, which are, a farthing.
42 Então veio uma viúva pobre e colocou duas moedas pequenas.
43 And, calling near his disciples, he said to themVerily, I say unto you, this destitute widow, more than they all, hath cast in, of those casting into the treasury;
43 Jesus chamou seus discípulos e disse: “Eu lhes digo a verdade: essa viúva depositou na caixa de ofertas mais que todos os outros.
44 For, they all, out of their surplus, cast in, but, she, out of her deficiency, all, as much as she had, cast in,the whole of her living.
44 Eles deram uma parte do que lhes sobrava, mas ela, em sua pobreza, deu tudo que tinha”.
