1 Then came out the lot, for the sons of Joseph, from the Jordan by Jericho, at the waters of Jericho, eastward,the desert, going up from Jericho, through the hill country to Bethel;
1 As terras distribuídas por sorteio aos descendentes de José se estendiam desde o rio Jordão, perto de Jericó, a leste das águas de Jericó, passando pelo deserto, até a região montanhosa de Betel.
2 and it goeth out from Bethel towards Luz,and passeth over unto the boundary of the Archites at Ataroth;
2 De Betel (isto é, Luz), seguiam para Atarote, no território dos arquitas.
3 and descendeth westward, unto the boundary of the Japhletites, as far as the boundary of Bethhoron the nether, and as far as Gezer,and the extensions thereof are to the sea.
3 Depois desciam em direção ao oeste, para o território dos jafletitas, até Bete-Horom Baixa e dali para Gezer, até o mar Mediterrâneo.
4 So the sons of Joseph, Manasseh and Ephraim, received their inheritance.
4 Essa foi a herança designada às famílias de Manassés e Efraim, filhos de José.
5 And the boundary of the sons of Ephraim, by their families, was,yea the boundary of their inheritance on the east, was Ataroth-addar, as far as Beth-horon the upper;
5 A seguinte herança foi designada aos clãs da tribo de Efraim: Sua divisa começava em Atarote-Adar, a leste. Dali se estendia para Bete-Horom Alta,
6 and the boundary goeth out westward at Michmethath, on the north, then the boundary bendeth round easward, to Taanath-shiloh,and passeth by it on the east to Janoah;
6 e depois para o mar Mediterrâneo. De Micmetá, ao norte, fazia uma curva para o leste e passava por Taanate-Siló, a leste de Janoa.
7 and goeth down from Janoah to Ataroth and to Naarah,and toucheth upon Jericho, and goeth out at the Jordan.
7 De Janoa fazia uma curva para o sul, até Atarote e Naarate, chegava até Jericó e terminava no rio Jordão.
8 From Tappuah, runneth the boundary along westward, to the ravine of Kanah, and the extensions thereof are to the sea,this, is the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Ephraim, by their families;
8 De Tapua, a divisa se estendia para o oeste, em direção ao vale de Caná, e dali chegava até o mar Mediterrâneo. Essa foi a porção de terra designada como herança para os clãs da tribo de Efraim.
9 together with the cities which were separated for the sons of Ephraim, in the midst of the inheritance of the sons of Manasseh,all the cities, with their villages.
9 Além disso, algumas cidades, com os povoados ao redor, no território designado como herança à meia tribo de Manassés, foram separadas para a tribo de Efraim.
10 But they did not dispossess the Canaanites who were dwelling in Gazer,so the Canaanites have dwelt in the midst of Ephraim unto this day, and have become tributary servants.
10 Eles não expulsaram os cananeus de Gezer, de modo que os habitantes de Gezer vivem até hoje no meio de Efraim, submetidos a trabalhos forçados.
