1 And it cared to pass after these things, that God, did prove Abraham,and he said unto him, Abraham! And he said Behold me!
1 Algum tempo depois Deus pôs Abraão à prova. Deus o chamou pelo nome, e ele respondeu: — Estou aqui.
2 And he saidTake, I pray thee, thy son, thine only one, whom thou lovest, even, Isaac, and get thee into the land of Moriah and cause him to ascend there as an ascending-sacrifice, on one of the mountains which I shall name unto thee.
2 Então Deus disse: — Pegue agora Isaque, o seu filho, o seu único filho, a quem você tanto ama, e vá até a terra de Moriá. Ali, na montanha que eu lhe mostrar, queime o seu filho como
3 So Abraham rose early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took his two young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the pieces of wood for an ascending-sacrifice, and mounted and went his way unto the place which God had named to him.
3 No dia seguinte Abraão se levantou de madrugada, arreou o seu jumento, cortou lenha para o sacrifício e saiu para o lugar que Deus havia indicado. Isaque e dois empregados foram junto com ele.
4 It was, on the third day, that Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off.
4 No terceiro dia, Abraão viu o lugar, de longe.
5 And Abraham said unto his young menTarry by yourselves here with the ass, but I and the young man must go yonder,that we may bow ourselves down and return unto you.
5 Então disse aos empregados: — Fiquem aqui com o jumento. Eu e o menino vamos ali adiante para adorar a Deus. Daqui a pouco nós voltamos.
6 So Abraham took the pieces of wood for the ascending-sacrifice, and laid them on Isaac his son, and took in his own hand the fire and the knife, and they went on their way, both of them together.
6 Abraão pegou a lenha para o sacrifício e pôs nos ombros de Isaque. Pegou uma faca e fogo, e os dois foram andando juntos.
7 Then said Isaac unto Abraham his father, then said he; My father! And he said, Behold me, my son, And he said, Behold the fire, and the pieces of wood,but where is the lamb, for an ascending-sacrifice?
7 Daí a pouco o menino disse: — Pai! Abraão respondeu: — Que foi, meu filho? Isaque perguntou: — Nós temos a lenha e o fogo, mas onde está o carneirinho para o sacrifício?
8 And Abraham said, God, will provide for himself the lamb for an ascending-sacrifice, my son! So they went on their way, both of them, together.
8 Abraão respondeu: — Deus dará o que for preciso; ele vai arranjar um carneirinho para o sacrifício, meu filho. E continuaram a caminhar juntos.
9 Then came they into the place which God had named to him, and Abraham built there the altar, and aid in order the pieces of wood, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar, above the pieces of wood.
9 Quando chegaram ao lugar que Deus havia indicado, Abraão fez um altar e arrumou a lenha em cima dele. Depois amarrou Isaque e o colocou sobre o altar, em cima da lenha.
10 And Abraham put forth his hand, and took the knife,to slay his son.
10 Em seguida pegou a faca para matá-lo.
11 Then called out unto him the messenger of Yahweh out of the heavens, and said. Abraham, Abraham! And he said Behold me!
11 Mas nesse instante, lá do céu, o Anjo do Senhor o chamou, dizendo: — Abraão! Abraão! — Estou aqui — respondeu ele.
12 Then he said, Do not put forth thy hand unto the young man, neither do to himanything at all,for, now, know I that one who reverest God, thou art, when thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only one, from me.
12 O Anjo disse: — Não machuque o menino e não lhe faça nenhum mal. Agora sei que você
13 And Abraham lifted up his eyes and looked, and lo! a ram, behind, caught in a thicket by his horns, and Abraham went, and took the ram, and caused him to ascend as an ascending-sacrifice instead of his son.
13 Abraão olhou em volta e viu um carneiro preso pelos chifres, no meio de uma moita. Abraão foi, pegou o carneiro e o ofereceu como sacrifício em lugar do seu filho.
14 So Abraham called the name of that place Yahweh,as to which it is still said to-day, In the mountain of Yahweh, will provision be made.
14 Abraão pôs naquele lugar o nome de “O Senhor Deus dará o que for preciso.” É por isso que até hoje o povo diz: “Na sua montanha o Senhor Deus dá o que é preciso.”
15 Then called out the messenger of Yahweh unto Abraham,a second time out of the heavens;
15 Mais uma vez o Anjo do Senhor , lá do céu, chamou Abraão
16 and said, By myself, have I sworn is the oracle of Yahweh,Because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only one,
16 e disse: — Porque você fez isso e não me negou o seu filho, o seu único filho, eu juro pelo meu próprio nome — diz Deus, o
17 That I will, richly bless, thee, and, abundantly multiply, thy seed, as the stars of the heavens, and as the sand which is on the lip of the sea,that thy seed may take possession of the gate of his foes:
17 Farei com que os seus descendentes sejam tão numerosos como as estrelas do céu ou os grãos de areia da praia do mar; e eles vencerão os inimigos.
18 So shall all the nations of the earth bless themselves in thy seed,Because thou didst hearken unto my voice.
18 Por meio dos seus descendentes eu abençoarei todas as nações do mundo, pois você fez o que eu mandei.
19 So Abraham returned unto his young men, and they mounted, and went on their way together unto Beer-sheba,and Abraham dwelt in Beer-sheba.
19 Abraão voltou para o lugar onde estavam os seus empregados, e foram todos juntos para Berseba, onde Abraão ficou morando.
20 And it came to pass after these things, that it was told Abraham, saying,Behold! Milcahshe also, hath borne sons, to Nahor thy brother:
20 Algum tempo depois Abraão recebeu a notícia de que Naor, o seu irmão, tinha oito filhos, nascidos de Milca, a sua mulher.
21 Uz his firstborn and Buz his brother,and Kemuel, father of Aram
21 O primeiro que nasceu foi Uz; depois vieram os seus irmãos Buz e Quemuel, que foi o pai de Arã;
22 and Chesed and Hazo, and Pildash, and Jidlaph,and Bethuel;
22 depois nasceram Quesede, Hazo, Pildas, Jidlafe e Betuel.
23 And, Bethuel, hath begotten Rebekah,These eight, hath Milcah borne to Nahor brother of Abraham.
23 Este Betuel foi o pai de Rebeca. São esses os oito filhos que Milca deu a Naor, o irmão de Abraão.
24 And his concubine, whose name was Reumah, she also, hath borne Tebah and Gaham, and Tahash, and Maacah.
24 Reúma, a concubina de Naor, lhe deu os seguintes filhos: Teba, Gaã, Taás e Maacá.
