1 And the word of Yahweh came unto me, saying:
1 A palavra do Senhor foi-me dirigida nestes termos:
2 Thou, therefore, son of man, Take up over Tyre a dirge;
2 tu, filho do homem, entoa um cântico fúnebre sobre Tiro.
3 And thou shalt say unto Tyre, O thou that dwellest by the entrances of the sea, Thou merchant of the peoples unto many shores, Thus, saith My Lord, Yahweh, O Tyre, Thou saidst, I, am the perfection of beauty!
3 Dize à cidade de Tiro, assentada à borda do mar, comerciando com os povos de inumeráveis ilhas: Eis o que diz o Senhor Javé: Tiro, tu dizias: sou um navio de perfeita beleza.
4 In the heart of the seas, were thy bounds, Thy builders perfected thy beauty:
4 No coração do mar está o teu domínio, teus construtores acabaram o teu esplendor.
5 With fir-trees from Senir, but they for thee all the two-decked vessels, Cedar from Lebanon, fetched they, to make masts for thee:
5 Fizeram a tua quilha com cipreste de Senir, tomaram um cedro do Líbano para te fazerem um mastro;
6 With oaks from Bashan, made they thine oars, Thy benches, made they of ivory, inlaid with boxwood, From the shores of the West:
6 com carvalhos de Basã te fizeram os remos. Teus bancos eram de marfim, incrustados em madeira das ilhas de Quitim.
7 Of fine linen with embroidered work from Egypt, was thy sail, To serve thee for ensign, Blue and purple from the shores of Aeolis became thine awning:
7 Teu velame era de linho do Egito, tecido para te servir de pavilhão: a púrpura violeta e o escarlate das ilhas de Elisa formavam a tua tenda.
8 the inhabitants of Zidon and Arvad, Became rowers for thee, Thine own skilled men O Tyre, were within thee, They were thy sailors:
8 As gentes de Sidon e de Arvad eram teus remadores, os mais hábeis de Sêmer te serviam de pilotos.
9 the elders of Byblus and the skilled men thereof, were within thee, Thy calkers, All the ships of the sea and their mariners, were within thee, To carry on thy traffic,
9 Os velhos de Gebal, experientes, lá estavam, para consertar as tuas fendas. Todos os navios do mar, com seus marujos, vinham a ti para fazer o tráfico.
10 They of Persia and Lud and Phut were in thine army, Thy men of war, Shield and helmet, hung they up within thee, They set forth thy splendour:
10 As gentes da Pérsia, de Lud e de Put serviam em teu exército, suspendiam em ti o escudo e o capacete, davam-te prestígio.
11 The sons of Arvad, :with thine army, were upon thy walls round about, And valorous in thy towers, Their shields, hung they up on thy walls round about, They perfected thy beauty:
11 Os filhos de Arvad e teu exército guarneciam tuas muralhas e os gamadianos estavam de prontidão sobre tuas torres; penduravam os seus escudos em toda a extensão dos teus muros e completavam a tua beleza.
12 Tarshish was a trader of thine. For the abundance of all wealth, With silver iron. tin and lead, Took they part in thy traffic:
12 Társis negociava contigo toda espécie de riqueza, pagando as tuas mercadorias com prata, ferro, estanho e chumbo.
13 Javan. Tubal and Meshech, They were merchants of thine, With the persons of men and vessels of bronze, Shared they in thy barter:
13 Javã, Tubal e Méchec traficavam contigo e te traziam, à guisa de moedas de câmbio, escravos e objetos de bronze.
14 Some of the house of Togarmah, with horses and horsemen and mules, Took part in thy traffic:
14 As gentes de Togorma pagavam com cavalos de raça, cavalos de sela e mulas.
15 the sons of Dedan were merchants of thine, Many, isles, took the merchandise of thy hand, Horns of ivory and ebony, gave they back to thee in exchange:
15 As de Dedã traficavam contigo, teu mercado se estendia a inúmeras praias, e te davam em pagamento presas de marfim e de ébano.
16 Syria, was a trader of thine For the abundance of thy manufactures,- With carbuncle and purple and em- broidery and fine linen and coral and rubies, Took they part in thy traffic:
16 Edom fazia contigo comércio de uma multidão de víveres, e te pagava com rubis, púrpura, bordados, linho fino, corais e rubis.
17 Judah and the land of Israel, They, were merchants of thine, With the wheat of Minnith and the sweets of pannag and honey and oil and balsam, Shared they in thy barter:
17 Judá e Israel também traficavam contigo e te forneciam trigo de Minit, cera, mel, azeite e bálsamo.
18 Damascus was a trader of thine For the multitude of thy manufactures For the multitude of all wealth,- With the wine of Helbon and white wool:
18 Damasco era teu cliente devido à multidão dos teus produtos e de tuas variadas riquezas, e pagava em vinho de Helbon e lã de Sahar.
19 Wedan and Javan, from Uzal, Brought into thy traffic, Steel, cassia and calamus, Were, in thy merchandise:
19 Dã e Javã, de Uzal, te forneciam ferro polido, cássia e cana aromática, como mercadoria de troca.
20 Dedan was a merchant of thine,- With spreading wraps for riding:
20 As gentes de Dedã faziam contigo comércio de mantas para cavalo.
21 Arabia and all the princes of Kedar, They, were traders at thy service, With lambs and rams and he-goats, With these, were they traders of thine:
21 A Arábia e todos os príncipes de Quedar traficavam contigo com cordeiros, carneiros e bodes.
22 The merchants of Sheba and Raamah, They were merchants of thine, With the chief of all spices and with every kind of precious stone and gold, Took they part in thy traffic:
22 Os mercadores de Sabá e de Reema faziam negócios contigo e te pagavam com perfumes de primeira qualidade, com gemas de todo gênero e com ouro.
23 Haran and Canneh and Eden, the merchants of Sheba,Asshur. Chilmad, Were merchants of thine:
23 Harã, Quene, Éden, os mercadores de Sabá, da Assíria e Quelmad faziam negociação contigo,
24 Those were thy merchants for gorgeous garments, for wrappings of blue and embroidery, and for treasure-chests of variegated cloth,for cords, twisted and strong, in thy market:
24 de objetos de luxo, mantos de púrpura ou bordados, tecidos de variegadas cores, sólidas cordas trançadas, que serviam de objeto de troca.
25 the ships of Tarshish, were thy masts Carrying on thy barter, So wast thou fled and becamest very glorious In the heart of the seas.
25 Navios de Társis vogavam a serviço de teus negócios. Ficaste cheia, ficaste por demais pesada, no seio dos mares!
26 Into mighty waters, have they brought thee, the rowerseven thee, the east wind, hath broken thee In the heart of the seas:
26 Conduziram-te os teus remeiros até as grandes águas... O vento do Oriente quebrou-te no coração do mar.
27 Thy wealth and thy wares, thy merchandise thy mariners, and thy sailors,-thy calkers and the barterers of thy merchandise and all thy men of war who are in thee and in all thy gathered host which is in thy midst Shall fall into the heart of the seas, In the day of thy fall.
27 Tuas riquezas, teus víveres, teus produtos, teus marinheiros e pilotos e consertadores de navios e corretores, todos os guerreiros que possuías contigo, e a multidão que tinhas a bordo foram tragados pelo mar no dia do teu naufrágio.
28 At the sound of the outcry of thy pots, the coasts shall quake:
28 Aos gritos dos teus marujos tremeram as plagas;
29 Then shall come down from their ships all that handle the oar, mariners, all the sailors of the sea Upon the land, shall they take up their station;
29 então desceram do navio todos os remadores. Os marinheiros, os pilotos do mar ficaram em terra.
30 And make loud over thee, with their voice, And make biter outcry,- And shall lift up dust on their heads, In ashes, shall roll themselves;
30 Eles fazem ouvir sobre ti o seu pranto com gritos amargos. Cobrem sua cabeça com poeira e rolam na cinza;
31 And shall make bald for thee a baldness And gird them with sackcloth, And shall weep for time in bitterness of soul. A biter lamentation;
31 rapam a cabeça por tua causa, vestem sacos; eles te choram, com o coração angustiado, em amarga lamentação!
32 And shall take up for thee in their Wailing: a dirge, And shall chant over thee,- Who is like Tyre? Like the Sent One in the midst of the sea?
32 Em sua aflição, entoarão uma ode fúnebre sobre teus males, e a seguinte elegia: Quem era semelhante a Tiro, agora emudecida no meio do mar?
33 By the going forth of thy commodities out of the seas, Thou didst satisfy many peoples, By the multitude of thy wares and of thy merchandise, Thou didst enrich the kings of the earth.
33 Quando os teus comerciantes saíam das ondas, abastecias os povos. Pela multidão das tuas riquezas e de teus víveres tu enriquecias os reis da terra.
34 Now, thou art wrecked out of the seas In the depths of waters, Thy merchandise and all thy gathered host In thy midst, have fallen.
34 Agora, que naufragaste no mar, sepultada no fundo das ondas, tua carga e teu equipamento estão sepultados contigo.
35 All the dwellers in the coastlands, Are astounded over thee,- And their king have been made to shudder a shuddering, To be troubled in countenance.
35 Todos os habitantes das ilhas estão apavorados com o que te aconteceu. Seus reis estão tomados de terror, sua fronte está abatida.
36 the traders among the peoples, have hissed over thee: A terror, hast thou become, And I art not k Unto times age-abiding.
36 Os mercadores dos povos estrangeiros assobiam, ao ver-te; és objeto de terror, aniquilada para sempre!
