1 you alsobeing dead by your offences and sins,
1 E vós outros estáveis mortos por vossas faltas, pelos pecados
2 In which at one time ye walked, according to the age of the world, according to the prince of the authority of the air, of the spirit that now energiseth in the sons of disobedience,
2 que cometestes outrora seguindo o modo de viver deste mundo, do príncipe das potestades do ar, do espírito que agora atua nos rebeldes.
3 Among whom also, we all, had our behaviour, at one time, in the covetings of our flesh, doing the things desired by the flesh and the mind, and were children, by nature, of angereven as the rest,
3 Também todos nós éramos deste número quando outrora vivíamos nos desejos carnais, fazendo a vontade da carne e da concupiscência. Éramos como os outros, por natureza, verdadeiros objetos da ira {divina}.
4 But, God, being rich in mercy, by reason of the great love wherewith he loved us,
4 Mas Deus, que é rico em misericórdia, impulsionado pelo grande amor com que nos amou,
5 Although we were dead by our offences, gave us life together with the Christ,by favour, ye have been saved,
5 quando estávamos mortos em conseqüência de nossos pecados, deu-nos a vida juntamente com Cristo - é por graça que fostes salvos! -,
6 And raised us up together, and seated us together in the heavenlies, in Christ:
6 juntamente com ele nos ressuscitou e nos fez assentar nos céus, com Cristo Jesus.
7 That he might point out, in the oncoming ages, the surpassing riches of his favour in graciousness upon us, in Christ Jesus;
7 Ele demonstrou assim pelos séculos futuros a imensidão das riquezas de sua graça, pela bondade que tem para conosco, em Jesus Cristo.
8 For, by his favour, have ye been saved, through means of faith, and this not from you, of God, the free-gift!
8 Porque é gratuitamente que fostes salvos mediante a fé. Isto não provém de vossos méritos, mas é puro dom de Deus.
9 Not from works, lest anyone should boast.
9 Não provém das obras, para que ninguém se glorie.
10 His, in fact we arehis workmanship, created in Christ Jesus upon a footing of good works, which God prepared beforehand, that, therein, we might walk.
10 Somos obra sua, criados em Jesus Cristo para as boas ações, que Deus de antemão preparou para que nós as praticássemos.
11 Wherefore, keep in remembrancethat, at one time, ye, the nations in flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by the so-called Circumcision in flesh, made by hand,
11 Lembrai-vos, pois, de que outrora vós, gentios por nascimento - que sois chamados incircuncisos por aqueles que se dizem circuncida dos, os que levam na carne a circuncisão feita por mãos humanas -,
12 That ye were, in that season, separate from Christ, alienated from the citizenship of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and godless in the world;
12 lembrai-vos de que naquele tempo estáveis sem Cristo, sem direito da cidadania em Israel, alheios às alianças, sem esperança da promessa e sem Deus, neste mundo.
13 But, just now, in Christ Jesus, ye, who at one time were afar off, were made nigh in the blood of the Christ;
13 Agora, porém, graças a Jesus Cristo, vós que antes estáveis longe, vos tornastes presentes, pelo sangue de Cristo.
14 He, in fact, is our peacewho made both one, and, the enclosing middle-wall, took down,
14 Porque é ele a nossa paz, ele que de dois povos fez um só, destruindo o muro de inimizade que os separava,
15 The enmity, in his fleshthe law of commandments in decreesbringing to nought,that, the two, he might create in himself, into one man of new mould, making peace.
15 abolindo na própria carne a lei, os preceitos e as prescrições. Desse modo, ele queria fazer em si mesmo dos dois povos uma única humanidade nova pelo restabelecimento da paz,
16 And might fully reconcile them both, in one body, through means of the cross,slaying the enmity thereby;
16 e reconciliá-los ambos com Deus, reunidos num só corpo pela virtude da cruz, aniquilando nela a inimizade.
17 And, coming, he announced the glad-messageof peace, unto you, the far off, and peace, unto them that were nigh;
17 Veio para anunciar a paz a vós que estáveis longe, e a paz também àqueles que estavam perto;
18 Because, through him, we have our introductionwe bothin one Spirit, unto the Father.
18 porquanto é por ele que ambos temos acesso junto ao Pai num mesmo espírito.
19 Hence, thenno longer, are ye strangers and sojourners, but ye are fellow-citizens of the saints, and members of the household of God,
19 Conseqüentemente, já não sois hóspedes nem peregrinos, mas sois concidadãos dos santos e membros da família de Deus,
20 Having been built up on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, there being, for chief corner stone, Jesus Christ himself,
20 edificados sobre o fundamento dos apóstolos e profetas, tendo por pedra angular o próprio Cristo Jesus.
21 In whom, an entire building, in process of being fitly joined together, is growing into a holy shrine in Lord;
21 É nele que todo edifício, harmonicamente disposto, se levanta até formar um templo santo no Senhor.
22 In whom, ye also, are being builded together, into a habitation of God in Spirit.
22 É nele que também vós outros entrais conjuntamente, pelo Espírito, na estrutura do edifício que se torna a habitação de Deus.
