1 you alsobeing dead by your offences and sins,
1 Vocês estavam mortos em suas transgressões e pecados,
2 In which at one time ye walked, according to the age of the world, according to the prince of the authority of the air, of the spirit that now energiseth in the sons of disobedience,
2 nos quais costumavam viver, quando seguiam a presente ordem deste mundo e o príncipe do poder do ar, o espírito que agora está atuando nos que vivem na desobediência.
3 Among whom also, we all, had our behaviour, at one time, in the covetings of our flesh, doing the things desired by the flesh and the mind, and were children, by nature, of angereven as the rest,
3 Anteriormente, todos nós também vivíamos entre eles, satisfazendo as vontades da nossa carne, seguindo os seus desejos e pensamentos. Como os outros, éramos por natureza merecedores da ira.
4 But, God, being rich in mercy, by reason of the great love wherewith he loved us,
4 Todavia, Deus, que é rico em misericórdia, pelo grande amor com que nos amou,
5 Although we were dead by our offences, gave us life together with the Christ,by favour, ye have been saved,
5 deu-nos vida juntamente com Cristo, quando ainda estávamos mortos em transgressões — pela graça vocês são salvos.
6 And raised us up together, and seated us together in the heavenlies, in Christ:
6 Deus nos ressuscitou com Cristo e com ele nos fez assentar nos lugares celestiais em Cristo Jesus,
7 That he might point out, in the oncoming ages, the surpassing riches of his favour in graciousness upon us, in Christ Jesus;
7 para mostrar, nas eras que hão de vir, a incomparável riqueza de sua graça, demonstrada em sua bondade para conosco em Cristo Jesus.
8 For, by his favour, have ye been saved, through means of faith, and this not from you, of God, the free-gift!
8 Pois vocês são salvos pela graça, por meio da fé, e isto não vem de vocês, é dom de Deus;
9 Not from works, lest anyone should boast.
9 não por obras, para que ninguém se glorie.
10 His, in fact we arehis workmanship, created in Christ Jesus upon a footing of good works, which God prepared beforehand, that, therein, we might walk.
10 Porque somos criação de Deus realizada em Cristo Jesus para fazermos boas obras, as quais Deus preparou de antemão para que nós as praticássemos.
11 Wherefore, keep in remembrancethat, at one time, ye, the nations in flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by the so-called Circumcision in flesh, made by hand,
11 Portanto, lembrem-se de que anteriormente vocês eram gentios por nascimento e chamados incircuncisão pelos que se chamam circuncisão, feita no corpo por mãos humanas, e que
12 That ye were, in that season, separate from Christ, alienated from the citizenship of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and godless in the world;
12 naquela época vocês estavam sem Cristo, separados da comunidade de Israel, sendo estrangeiros quanto às alianças da promessa, sem esperança e sem Deus no mundo.
13 But, just now, in Christ Jesus, ye, who at one time were afar off, were made nigh in the blood of the Christ;
13 Mas agora, em Cristo Jesus, vocês, que antes estavam longe, foram aproximados mediante o sangue de Cristo.
14 He, in fact, is our peacewho made both one, and, the enclosing middle-wall, took down,
14 Pois ele é a nossa paz, o qual de ambos fez um e destruiu a barreira, o muro de inimizade,
15 The enmity, in his fleshthe law of commandments in decreesbringing to nought,that, the two, he might create in himself, into one man of new mould, making peace.
15 anulando em seu corpo a lei dos mandamentos expressa em ordenanças. O objetivo dele era criar em si mesmo, dos dois, um novo homem, fazendo a paz,
16 And might fully reconcile them both, in one body, through means of the cross,slaying the enmity thereby;
16 e reconciliar com Deus os dois em um corpo, por meio da cruz, pela qual ele destruiu a inimizade.
17 And, coming, he announced the glad-messageof peace, unto you, the far off, and peace, unto them that were nigh;
17 Ele veio e anunciou paz a vocês que estavam longe e paz aos que estavam perto,
18 Because, through him, we have our introductionwe bothin one Spirit, unto the Father.
18 pois por meio dele tanto nós como vocês temos acesso ao Pai, por um só Espírito.
19 Hence, thenno longer, are ye strangers and sojourners, but ye are fellow-citizens of the saints, and members of the household of God,
19 Portanto, vocês já não são estrangeiros nem forasteiros, mas concidadãos dos santos e membros da família de Deus,
20 Having been built up on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, there being, for chief corner stone, Jesus Christ himself,
20 edificados sobre o fundamento dos apóstolos e dos profetas, tendo Jesus Cristo como pedra angular,
21 In whom, an entire building, in process of being fitly joined together, is growing into a holy shrine in Lord;
21 no qual todo o edifício é ajustado e cresce para tornar-se um santuário santo no Senhor.
22 In whom, ye also, are being builded together, into a habitation of God in Spirit.
22 Nele vocês também estão sendo juntamente edificados, para se tornarem morada de Deus por seu Espírito.
