1 Then called Moses unto all Israel and said unto themHear, O Israel, the statutes and the regulations, which I am speaking in your ears to-day,so shall ye learn them, and observe to do them.
1 E Moisés convocou todo Israel, e lhes disse: Ouvi, ó Israel, os estatutos e os juízos que digo aos seus ouvidos hoje, para que os aprendais e guardais e cumprais.
2 Yahweh our God, solemnised with us a covenant in Horeb:
2 O SENHOR nosso Deus fez conosco um pacto, em Horebe.
3 not with our fathers did Yahweh solemnise this covenant,but with us, ourselvesthese here to-day, all of us living.
3 O SENHOR não fez este pacto com os nossos pais, mas conosco, todos os que hoje estamos aqui vivos.
4 Face to face, spake Yahweh with you in the mount out of the midst of the fire,
4 O SENHOR conversou convosco face a face, no meio do fogo,
5 (I was standing between Yahweh and you, at that time, to declare unto you the word of Yahweh,for ye shrank with fear from the presence of the fire, and went not up in the mount) saying:
5 (naquele tempo eu estava em pé entre o SENHOR e vós, para mostrar a palavra do SENHOR, porque tivestes medo por causa do fogo, e não subistes ao monte), dizendo:
6 I, am Yahweh thy God, who have brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt out of the house of servants:
6 Eu sou o SENHOR teu Deus, que te tirou da terra do Egito, da casa de servidão.
7 Thou shalt not have other gods, besides me:
7 Não terás outros deuses diante de mim.
8 Thou shalt not make unto thee an image, any form that is in the heavens above, or that is in the earth beneath or that is in the waters beneath the earth:
8 Não farás para ti nenhuma imagem de escultura, nem alguma semelhança de alguma coisa que há acima no céu, ou embaixo na terra, ou nas águas debaixo da terra;
9 thou shalt not bow thyself down to them nor be led to serve them,for, I Yahweh thy God, am a jealous GOD, visiting the iniquity of fathers upon sons even unto three generations and unto four, unto them that hate me;
9 não te prostrarás diante deles, nem os servirá; porque eu, o SENHOR teu Deus, sou Deus ciumento, que visito a iniquidade dos pais sobre os filhos, até a terceira e quarta geração dos que me odeiam,
10 but shewing lovingkindness unto a thousand generationunto them who love me, and keep my commandments:
10 e que mostro misericórdia a milhares dos que me amam e guardam os meus mandamentos.
11 Thou shalt not utter the name of Yahweh thy God, for falsehood,for Yahweh will not at him go unpunished who uttereth his name for falsehood:
11 Não tomarás o nome do SENHOR teu Deus em vão, porque o SENHOR não considerará inocente ao que tomar o seu nome em vão.
12 Observe the sabbath day, to hallow it,as Yahweh thy God, hath commanded thee:
12 Guardarás o dia do shabat para santificá-lo, como o SENHOR teu Deus te ordenou.
13 six days, shalt thou labour, and do all thy work;
13 Seis dias trabalharás, e farás toda a tua obra.
14 but, the seventh day, is a sabbath unto Yahweh thy God,thou shalt do no workthou nor thy son nor thy daughter nor thy servant nor thy handmaid nor thine ox nor thine ass nor any of thy cattle, nor thy sojourner who is within thy gates, that thy servant and thy handmaid may rest, as well as thou.
14 Mas o sétimo dia é o dia do shabat do SENHOR teu Deus; nele não farás nenhum trabalho, tu, nem o teu filho, nem a tua filha, nem o teu servo, nem a tua serva, nem os teus bois, ou os teus jumentos, nem algum dos teus animais, nem o estrangeiro que estiver dentro de tuas portas; para que o teu servo e a tua serva possam descansar como tu.
15 So shalt thou remember that a servant, wast thou in the land of Egypt, and that Yahweh thy God brought thee forth from thence, with a firm hand, and with a stretched-out arm,for this cause, hath Yahweh thy God commanded thee to keep the sabbath day:
15 E lembra-te de que foste servo na terra do Egito, e que o SENHOR teu Deus te tirou dali com mão forte e braço estendido; portanto o SENHOR teu Deus te ordenou que guardasses o dia do shabat.
16 Honour thy father and thy mother, as Yahweh thy God hath commanded thee,that thy days may be prolonged and that it may go well with thee, upon the soil which Yahweh thy God is about to give unto thee:
16 Honrarás a teu pai e a tua mãe, como o SENHOR teu Deus te ordenou, para que se prolonguem os teus dias e para que tudo te vá bem na terra que o SENHOR teu Deus te dá.
17 Thou shalt not commit murder:
17 Não assassinarás.
18 Neither shalt thou commit adultery:
18 Nem cometerás adultério.
19 Neither shalt thou steal:
19 Nem furtarás.
20 Neither shalt thou testify against thy neighbour with a witness of falsehood:
20 Nem dirás falso testemunho contra o teu próximo.
21 Neither shalt thou covet thy neighbours wife,neither shalt thou desire thy neighbours house, his field, or his servant, or his handmaid, his ox or his ass, or anything that is thy neighbours.
21 Nem cobiçarás a mulher do teu próximo, nem desejarás a casa do teu próximo, o seu campo, ou o seu servo, ou a sua serva, ou o seu boi, ou o seu jumento, ou coisa alguma que seja do teu próximo.
22 These words, spake Yahweh unto all the convocation of you in the mount out of the midst of the fire the cloud and the thick gloom, a loud voice, and added not,and he wrote them upon two tables of stone, and gave them unto me.
22 Estas palavras o SENHOR falou a toda a vossa assembleia no monte, do meio do fogo, da nuvem e da espessa escuridão, com grande voz, e nada mais acrescentou; e as escreveu em duas tábuas de pedra e as entregou a mim.
23 And it came to pass, when ye heard the voice out of the midst of the darkness, the mountain also burning with fire, then drew ye near unto me, even all the heads of your tribes and your elders,
23 E aconteceu que, quando ouvistes a voz do meio das trevas (pois o monte ardeu em fogo), vos aproximastes de mim, e todos os cabeças das vossas tribos e os vossos anciãos;
24 and ye saidLo! Yahweh our God hath let us see his glory and his greatness, his voice also, have we heard out of the midst of the fire,this day, have we seen, that God may speak with man who yet may live.
24 e dissestes: Eis que o SENHOR nosso Deus, nos mostrou a sua glória e a sua grandeza, e ouvimos a sua voz do meio do fogo; hoje vimos que Deus fala com o homem, e ele vive.
25 Now, therefore why should we die? for this great fire, will consume, us,if we ourselves, hear the voice of Yahweh our God any more, we shall die.
25 Agora, portanto, por que morreríamos? Pois este grande fogo nos consumirá; se ouvirmos mais a voz do SENHOR nosso Deus, então morreremos.
26 For who of all flesh, that ever heard the voice of a Living God speaking out of the midst of fire as we, and yet lived?
26 Pois quem há de toda a carne, que ouviu a voz do Deus vivente falando do meio do fogo, como nós ouvimos e viveu?
27 Go, thou, near, and hear, all that Yahweh our God shall say,so shalt thou speak unto us, all that Yahweh our God shall speak unto thee and we will hear and do.
27 Aproxima-te tu, e ouve tudo o que o SENHOR nosso Deus te falar; e tu nos dirás tudo o que o SENHOR nosso Deus te falar, e o ouviremos e o faremos.
28 And Yahweh heard the voice of your words, when ye spake unto me,and Yahweh said unto meI have heard the voice of the words of this people which they have spoken unto thee, they have well said all which they have spoken.
28 E o SENHOR ouviu a voz das tuas palavras, quando me falaste; e o SENHOR me falou: Eu ouvi a voz das palavras deste povo, que eles disseram a ti; tudo o que eles disseram falaram bem.
29 Oh that this their heart might remain in them to revere me, and to keep all my commandments all the days,that it might he well with them and with their sons unto times age-abiding.
29 Oh, se houvesse neles um coração, de modo que me temessem, e guardassem sempre os meus mandamentos, de modo que tudo lhes fosse bem, e com seus filhos, para sempre!
30 Go, say unto them,Return ye to your tents.
30 Vai dizer a eles: Entrai outra vez em vossas tendas.
31 Thou, therefore here stand with me and let me speak unto theeall the commandment and the statutes and the regulations which thou shalt teach them,that they may do in the land which I am giving unto them to possess it.
31 Mas quanto a ti, fica aqui comigo, e te falarei todos os mandamentos, e os estatutos, e os juízos, que ensinarás a eles, para que possam cumpri-los na terra que lhes darei como possessão.
32 So then ye must observe to do, as Yahweh your God hath commanded you,ye must not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.
32 Portanto, observe e faça como o SENHOR teu Deus vos ordenou; não vos desvieis para a direita, ou para a esquerda.
33 In all the way which Yahweh your God hath commanded you, must ye walk,that ye may live and it be well with you, and that ye may prolong your days in the land, which ye shall possess.
33 Andareis em todo o caminho que vos mandou o SENHOR vosso Deus, para que vivais, e tudo vá bem convosco, e para que prolongueis os vossos dias na terra que possuíres.
