1 Now, this, is the blessing wherewith Moses, the man of God, blessed the sons of Israel,before his death.
1 Esta é a bênção que Moisés, homem de Deus, deu aos israelitas antes de sua morte:
2 And he saidYahweh from Sinai, came near,Yea he dawned, out of Seir, upon them, He shone forth out of Mount Paran, Yea he came out of holy myriads,Out of his right hand fire to guide them.
2 “O S enhor veio do monte Sinai e alvoreceu sobre nós resplandeceu desde o monte Parã e veio de Meribá-Cades com fogo ardente em sua mão direita.
3 Yea he loved the tribes, All his holy ones, were in thy hand,Yea, they, were encamped at thy feet, Each one bare away some of thy words.
3 Por certo ele ama seu povo; todos os seus santos estão em suas mãos. Seguem seus passos e recebem seus ensinamentos.
4 A law, did Moses command us,A possession, for the convocation of Jacob.
4 Moisés nos deu a lei, a propriedade especial do povo de Israel.
5 Thus became he in, Jeshurun, a king,When the heads of the people gathered them-selves together, As one man, the tribes of Israel.
5 O S enhor era rei em Jesurum, quando os líderes do povo se reuniram, quando as tribos de Israel se juntaram como uma só”.
6 Let Reuben live and not die,Nor his men he easily counted.
6 “Que a tribo de Rúben viva e não desapareça, embora não seja numerosa”.
7 And, this, is for Judah, when he said, Hear, O Yahweh, the voice of Judah, That unto his own people, thou wouldst bring him home,Let, his own hands, suffice him, And, a helper from his adversaries, do thou become.
7 Foi isto que Moisés disse a respeito da tribo de Judá: “Ó S e reúne-os como um só povo. Dá-lhes forças para defender sua causa; ajuda-os contra seus inimigos”.
8 And of Levi, he said: Let, thy perfections and thy lights, belong unto thy man of lovingkindness,Whom thou didst put to the proof at Massah, With whom thou didst contend over the waters of Meribah;
8 A respeito da tribo de Levi, disse: “Ó S as sortes sagradas, a teus servos fiéis. Tu os provaste em Massá e lutaste com eles junto às águas de Meribá.
9 Who saith of his father and of his mother, I behold them not, And, his own brethren, regardeth he not, And, his own sons, observeth he not,Because they watch thy speech, That, thy covenant, they may preserve,;
9 Os levitas obedeceram à tua palavra e guardaram a tua aliança. Foram mais leais a ti que aos próprios pais. Ignoraram os parentes e não reconheceram os próprios filhos.
10 May teach thy regulations unto Jacob, And thy law unto Israel,May put incense in thy nostrils, And a whole-offering upon thine altar.
10 Ensinaram teus estatutos a Jacó, deram tuas instruções a Israel. Oferecem incenso diante de ti e apresentam holocaustos inteiros no teu altar.
11 Bless, O Yahweh his substance, And with the work of his hands, wilt thou be well pleased,Crush thou the loins of them who rise up against him, And of them who hate him, that they rise not again.
11 Abençoa o serviço dos levitas, ó S enhor , e aceita todo o trabalho de suas mãos. Quebra os quadris de seus inimigos; derruba seus adversários, para que nunca voltem a se levantar”.
12 Of Benjamin, he said, The beloved of Yahweh, shall settle down securely,With one to throw a shade over him all the day long, Yea, between his shoulders, hath he found rest.
12 A respeito da tribo de Benjamim, disse: “Benjamim é amado pelo S e vive em segurança ao seu lado. Ele o protege continuamente e o faz descansar sobre seus ombros”.
13 And of Joseph, he said, Blessed of Yahweh, be his land,With the precious things of the heavens with the dew, And with the abyss, couching beneath;
13 A respeito da tribo de José, disse: “O S com a dádiva preciosa do orvalho do céu e água das profundezas da terra;
14 And with the precious fruits of the sun,And with the precious yield of the moons;
14 com os ricos frutos que amadurecem ao sol e as colheitas fartas de cada mês;
15 And with the chief of the ancient mountains,And with the precious things of the age-abiding hills;
15 com as mais excelentes safras dos montes antigos, e os ricos frutos das colinas eternas;
16 And with the precious things of the earth and its fulness, And with the goodwill of One who dwelt in a thorn-bush.Let it come on the head of Joseph, And on the crown of the head of him who was consecrated among his brethren.
16 com as melhores dádivas da terra e sua fartura, e o favor daquele que apareceu no arbusto em chamas. Que essas bênçãos repousem sobre a cabeça de José e coroem a fronte do príncipe entre seus irmãos.
17 His firstborn ox, be an honour to him. And the horns of a buffalo, be his horns, With them, let him thrust, peoples, All at once, to the ends of the earth,Yea,
17 José é majestoso como um touro jovem; tem a força de um boi selvagem. Com seus chifres expulsará as nações distantes até os confins da terra. Essa é a minha bênção para as multidões de Efraim e para os milhares de Manassés”.
18 And, of Zebulun, he said, Rejoice, Zebulun in thy going out,And , Issachar in thy tents:
18 A respeito da tribo de Zebulom, disse: “Que o povo de Zebulom prospere em suas viagens, que o povo de Issacar prospere em suas tendas.
19 The peoples, unto the mountain, will they call, There, will they offer the sacrifices of righteousness,For, the abundance of the seas, will they suck, Hidden treasures of the sand.
19 Convocam o povo ao monte para ali oferecer os sacrifícios apropriados. Fartam-se das riquezas do mar e dos tesouros escondidos na areia”.
20 And, of Gad, he said: Blessed, be he that hath made room for Gad,As a lioness, hath he laid himself down, And hath torn an arm likewise the crown of the head;
20 A respeito da tribo de Gade, disse: “Abençoado é aquele que expande o território de Gade! Gade fica à espreita como leão, para arrancar um braço ou uma cabeça.
21 And hath provided a first part for himself, For, there, a commanders portion hath been hid,So he cometh with the heads of the people, The righteousness of Yahweh, he executeth, And his regulations, with Israel.
21 O povo de Gade tomou para si a melhor parte da terra; a ele foi entregue a porção do líder. Quando os líderes do povo estavam reunidos, executou a justiça do S e obedeceu a seus estatutos para Israel”.
22 And, of Dan, he said, Dan, is a lions whelp,He leapeth out of Bashan.
22 A respeito da tribo de Dã, disse: “Dã é filhote de leão, que salta de Basã”.
23 And, of Naphtali, he said, O Naphtali! satisfied with favour, And full with the blessing of Yahweh,The west and the sunny south, do thou possess.
23 A respeito da tribo de Naftali, disse: “Ó Naftali, você é rico em favor e repleto das bênçãos do S herdará as terras do oeste e do sul”.
24 And, of Asher, he said, Most blessed of sons, be Asher,Let him have the goodwill of his brethren, And let him dip, in oil, his foot:
24 E, a respeito da tribo de Aser, disse: “Que Aser seja mais abençoado que os outros filhos; seja ele estimado por seus irmãos e banhe os pés em óleo de oliva.
25 Iron and bronze, be thy sandals, And, as thy days, be thy strength.
25 Que as trancas de suas portas sejam de ferro e bronze e sua força dure por todos os seus dias”.
26 There is none like GOD, O Jeshurun,Riding upon the heavens to thy help,And for his own majesty, on the skies;
26 “Não há ninguém como o Deus de Jesurum! Ele cavalga pelos céus para ajudá-los e monta as nuvens com majestoso esplendor.
27 Above, is the God of aforetime, And, beneath, are the Arms of the ages,So he driveth before thee the foe, And doth sayDestroy!
27 O Deus eterno é seu refúgio, e seus braços eternos os sustentam. Expulsa os inimigos de diante de vocês e grita: ‘Destruam esses povos!’.
28 Thus hath Israel settled down securely, Alone, the fountain of Jacob, Within a land both of corn and new wine,His heaven also droppeth down dew.
28 Israel viverá em paz, a fonte de Jacó estará segura numa terra de cereais e vinho novo, onde os céus gotejam orvalho.
29 How happy art thou, O Israel! Who is like unto thee, O people victorious in Yahweh? Thy helpful shield, who also is thy majestic sword,So that thy foes come cringing unto thee, And, thou, upon their heights, dost march along.
29 Como você é feliz, ó Israel! Quem é como você, povo salvo pelo S Ele é seu escudo protetor e sua espada triunfante! Seus inimigos se encolherão de medo diante de você, e você lhes pisoteará as costas”.
