1 And Moses with the elders of Israel commanded the people saying,Observe all the commandment which I am commanding you to-day.
1 Moisés, junto com as autoridades de Israel, deu ao povo as seguintes ordens: — Obedeçam a todos esses mandamentos que hoje eu estou dando a vocês.
2 So then it shall be in the day when ye shall pass over the Jordan, into the land which Yahweh thy God is giving unto thee,that thou shalt rear thee up great stones, and plaster them with plaster;
2 Depois de atravessarem o rio Jordão e entrarem na terra que o Senhor , nosso Deus, está dando a vocês, levantem pedras grandes, pintem com cal
3 and shalt write upon them all the words of this law, when thou shalt pass over,to the end that thou mayest enter upon the land which Yahweh thy God is giving unto thee a land flowing with milk and honey, as Yahweh the God of thy fathers hath spoken unto thee.
3 e escrevam nelas todas essas leis e mandamentos. Vocês vão entrar na terra boa e rica que o Senhor , o Deus dos nossos antepassados, está dando a vocês, conforme prometeu.
4 So then it shall be when ye shall pass over the Jordan, that ye shall rear up these stones which I am commanding you to-day in Mount Ebal,and thou shalt plaster them with plaster.
4 Quando isso acontecer, e vocês estiverem no outro lado do rio Jordão, levantem estas pedras no monte Ebal, como estou mandando hoje, e as pintem com cal.
5 And thou shalt build there an altar unto Yahweh thy God,an altar of stones, thou shalt not wield thereupon any tool of iron.
5 Construam ali um altar ao Senhor , nosso Deus, usando pedras que não tenham sido cortadas com ferramentas.
6 Of whole stones, shalt thou build the altar of Yahweh thy God,then shalt thou cause to go up thereon ascending-sacrifices, unto Yahweh thy God;
6 Escolham pedras brutas para construírem o altar e sobre ele ofereçam ao Senhor sacrifícios que serão completamente queimados
7 and thou shalt sacrifice peace-offerings and shalt eat there,and rejoice before Yahweh thy God.
7 e ofertas de paz. Comam dos sacrifícios e alegrem-se ali na presença de Deus, o Senhor .
8 And thou shalt write upon the stones all the words of this law doing it plainly and well.
8 Nas pedras pintadas escrevam com cuidado todas as palavras da lei de Deus.
9 And Moses and the priests the Levites spake unto all Israel saying,Keep silence and hear O Israel, This day, hast thou been made a people unto Yahweh thy God.
9 Então Moisés, junto com os sacerdotes levitas , disse a todos os israelitas: — Povo de Israel, fique quieto e preste atenção! Hoje vocês se tornaram o povo do
10 Thou shalt therefore hearken unto the voice of Yahweh thy God,and do his commandments and his statutes, which I am commanding thee to-day.
10 Portanto, obedeçam a tudo o que ele mandar e cumpram todos os mandamentos e todas as leis que eu estou dando a vocês hoje.
11 And Moses commanded the people on that day, saying:
11 Nesse mesmo dia Moisés disse ao povo de Israel:
12 These, shall stand to bless the people upon Mount Gerizim, when ye have passed over the Jordan,Simeon and Levi and Judah, and Issachar and Joseph and Benjamin;
12 — Depois que tiverem atravessado o rio Jordão, vocês serão abençoados do alto do monte Gerizim. Ficarão nesse monte as seguintes tribos : Simeão, Levi, Judá, Issacar, José e Benjamim.
13 and, these, shall stand by the curse in Mount Ebal,Reuben Gad and Asher, and Zebulun Dan and Naphtali.
13 As maldições serão ditas do monte Ebal, e ali ficarão as seguintes tribos: Rúben, Gade, Aser, Zebulom, Dã e Naftali.
14 Then shall the Levites respond and say unto every man of Israel with voice uplifted:
14 Os levitas falarão bem alto a todo o povo, assim:
15 Cursed, be the man that maketh an imagecut or moltenan abomination unto Yahweh the work of the hands of the craftsman and putteth it in a secret place. And all the people shall respond and sayAmen.
15 — “Maldito seja aquele que fizer imagens de pedra, de madeira ou de metal, para adorá-las em segredo; o Senhor detesta a idolatria!” E o povo responderá: “ Amém !”
16 Cursed, be he that holdeth in light esteem his father or his mother. And all the people shall sayAmen.
16 — “Maldito seja aquele que desrespeitar o pai ou a mãe!” E o povo responderá: “Amém!”
17 Cured, be he that moveth back the boundary of his neighbour. And all the people shall sayAmen.
17 — “Maldito seja aquele que mudar de lugar os marcos de divisa do terreno do vizinho!” E o povo responderá: “Amém!”
18 Cursed, be he that causeth the blind to wander in the way. And all the people shall sayAmen.
18 — “Maldito seja aquele que fizer um cego errar o caminho!” E o povo responderá: “Amém!”
19 Cursed, be he that perverteth the right of the sojourner, the fatherless, or the widow. And all the people shall sayAmen.
19 — “Maldito seja aquele que não respeitar os direitos dos estrangeiros, dos órfãos e das viúvas!” E o povo responderá: “Amém!”
20 Cursed, be he that lieth with his fathers wife, because he hath turned aside his fathers coverlet. And all the people shall sayAmen.
20 — “Maldito seja aquele que tiver relações com uma das mulheres do pai, pois isso é uma vergonha para o pai!” E o povo responderá: “Amém!”
21 Cursed, be he that lieth with any beast. And all the people shall sayAmen.
21 — “Maldito seja aquele que tiver relações com um animal!” E o povo responderá: “Amém!”
22 Cursed, be he that lieth with his sister, daughter of his father or daughter of his mother. And all the people shall sayAmen.
22 — “Maldito seja aquele que tiver relações com a irmã, seja irmã por parte de pai e mãe ou somente por parte de pai!” E o povo responderá: “Amém!”
23 Cursed, be he that lieth with his mother-in-law. And all the people shall sayAmen.
23 — “Maldito seja aquele que tiver relações com a sogra!” E o povo responderá: “Amém!”
24 Cursed, be he that smiteth his neighbour secretly. And all the people shall sayAmen.
24 — “Maldito seja aquele que matar outro israelita à traição!” E o povo responderá: “Amém!”
25 Cursed, be he that taketh a bribe to shed innocent blood. And all the people shall sayAmen.
25 — “Maldito seja aquele que receber dinheiro para matar uma pessoa inocente!” E o povo responderá: “Amém!”
26 Cursed, be he that establisheth not the words of this law to do them. And all the people shall sayAmen.
26 — “Maldito seja aquele que não obedecer a essas leis de Deus!” E o povo responderá: “Amém!”
