1 For the rest, brethren, be praying for us,that, the word of the Lord, may be running, and gaining glory, according as even with you;
1 Finalmente, irmãos, orem por nós para que a mensagem do Senhor continue a se espalhar rapidamente e seja bem-aceita, como aconteceu entre vocês.
2 And that we may be rescued from the presuming and wicked men; for, not all, hold the faith.
2 Orem também para que Deus nos livre das pessoas más e perversas, pois nem todos creem na mensagem.
3 Faithful, is the Lord,who will confirm you, and guard you from the wicked one:
3 Mas o Senhor Jesus é fiel. Ele lhes dará forças e os livrará do Maligno .
4 We are persuaded, however, in the Lord, as touching you,that, what things we give in charge, Ye both are doing and will do;
4 E o Senhor faz com que confiemos em vocês; temos a certeza de que estão fazendo e continuarão a fazer o que lhes recomendamos.
5 But may, the Lord, guide your hearts into the love of God, and into the endurance of the Christ.
5 Que o Senhor os faça compreender melhor o amor de Deus por vocês e a firmeza que ele, Cristo, dá!
6 Howbeit, we charge you, brethren,that, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, ye be withdrawing yourselves from every brotherwho, in a disorderly way, doth walk, and not according to the instruction which ye received from us.
6 Irmãos, em nome do nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo, ordenamos a vocês que se afastem de todos os irmãos que vivem sem trabalhar e que não seguem os ensinamentos que demos a eles.
7 For, ye yourselves, know, how needful it is to be imitating us, in that we were not disorderly among you,
7 Vocês sabem muito bem que devem seguir o nosso exemplo, pois não temos vivido entre vocês sem trabalhar.
8 Nor, as a free-gift, did eat, bread, from anyone, but, with toil and hardship, night and day, working,that we might not burden any of you;
8 Não temos recebido nada de ninguém, sem pagar; na verdade trabalhamos e nos cansamos. Trabalhamos sem parar, dia e noite, a fim de não sermos um peso para nenhum de vocês.
9 Not because we have not authority, but that, ourselves, as an ensample, we might hold forth unto you,to the end ye might he imitating us.
9 É claro que temos o direito de receber sustento; mas não temos pedido nada a fim de que vocês seguissem o nosso exemplo.
10 For, even when we were with you, this, were we giving in charge unto you,that, if any will not work, neither let him eat!
10 Porque, quando estávamos aí, demos esta regra: “Quem não quer trabalhar que não coma.”
11 We hear, in fact, of some who are walking among you in a disorderly way, at nothing, working, yet too busily working!
11 Estamos afirmando isso porque ouvimos dizer que há entre vocês algumas pessoas que vivem como os preguiçosos: não fazem nada e se metem na vida dos outros.
12 Now, such as these, we charge and exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ,that, with quietness, working, their own bread, they be eating.
12 Em nome do Senhor Jesus Cristo, ordenamos com insistência a essas pessoas que vivam de um modo correto e trabalhem para se sustentar.
13 But, ye, brethren, be not weary in well-doing;
13 Mas vocês, irmãos, não se cansem de fazer o bem.
14 And, if anyone be not giving ear unto our word through means of this letter, on this one, set a marknot to be mixing yourselves up with him,that he may be reproved;
14 Se alguém não quiser obedecer ao que estamos mandando nesta carta, vejam bem quem está fazendo isso e se afastem dele para que fique envergonhado.
15 And, not as an enemy, be esteeming him, but be admonishing him, as a brother.
15 No entanto não o tratem como inimigo, mas o aconselhem como se aconselha um irmão.
16 But may, the Lord of peace himself, give you peace, always, in every way. The Lord, be with you all.
16 Que o Senhor da paz dê a vocês a paz, sempre e de todas as maneiras! E que o Senhor esteja com todos vocês!
17 The salutation of Paulwith my own hand, which is a sign in every letter: thus, I write.
17 Com a minha própria mão escrevo isto: Saudações de Paulo. É assim que assino todas as minhas cartas; é assim que escrevo.
18 The favour of our Lord Jesus Christ, be with you all.
18 Que a graça do nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo esteja com todos vocês!
