1 For the rest, brethren, be praying for us,that, the word of the Lord, may be running, and gaining glory, according as even with you;
1 Finalmente, irmãos, orem por nós, para que a palavra do Senhor se propague e seja glorificada, como aconteceu entre vocês.
2 And that we may be rescued from the presuming and wicked men; for, not all, hold the faith.
2 Orem também para que sejamos livres das pessoas perversas e más; porque a fé não é de todos.
3 Faithful, is the Lord,who will confirm you, and guard you from the wicked one:
3 Mas o Senhor é fiel. Ele os fortalecerá e os guardará do Maligno.
4 We are persuaded, however, in the Lord, as touching you,that, what things we give in charge, Ye both are doing and will do;
4 Temos confiança no Senhor quanto a vocês, de que não só estão praticando as coisas que lhes ordenamos, como também continuarão a fazê-las.
5 But may, the Lord, guide your hearts into the love of God, and into the endurance of the Christ.
5 Que o Senhor conduza o coração de vocês ao amor de Deus e à perseverança de Cristo.
6 Howbeit, we charge you, brethren,that, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, ye be withdrawing yourselves from every brotherwho, in a disorderly way, doth walk, and not according to the instruction which ye received from us.
6 Irmãos, em nome do nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo, ordenamos a vocês que se afastem de todo irmão que vive de forma desordenada e não segundo a tradição que vocês receberam de nós.
7 For, ye yourselves, know, how needful it is to be imitating us, in that we were not disorderly among you,
7 Porque vocês mesmos sabem como devem nos imitar, visto que nunca vivemos de forma desordenada quando estivemos entre vocês,
8 Nor, as a free-gift, did eat, bread, from anyone, but, with toil and hardship, night and day, working,that we might not burden any of you;
8 nem jamais comemos pão à custa dos outros. Pelo contrário, trabalhamos com esforço e fadiga, de noite e de dia, a fim de não sermos pesados a nenhum de vocês.
9 Not because we have not authority, but that, ourselves, as an ensample, we might hold forth unto you,to the end ye might he imitating us.
9 Não que não tivéssemos o direito de receber algo, mas porque tínhamos em vista apresentar a nós mesmos como exemplo, para que vocês nos imitassem.
10 For, even when we were with you, this, were we giving in charge unto you,that, if any will not work, neither let him eat!
10 Porque, quando ainda estávamos com vocês, ordenamos isto: “Se alguém não quer trabalhar, também não coma.”
11 We hear, in fact, of some who are walking among you in a disorderly way, at nothing, working, yet too busily working!
11 Pois, de fato, ouvimos que há entre vocês algumas pessoas que vivem de forma desordenada. Não trabalham, mas se intrometem na vida dos outros.
12 Now, such as these, we charge and exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ,that, with quietness, working, their own bread, they be eating.
12 A essas pessoas determinamos e exortamos, no Senhor Jesus Cristo, que, trabalhando tranquilamente, comam o seu próprio pão.
13 But, ye, brethren, be not weary in well-doing;
13 Quanto a vocês, irmãos, não se cansem de fazer o bem.
14 And, if anyone be not giving ear unto our word through means of this letter, on this one, set a marknot to be mixing yourselves up with him,that he may be reproved;
14 Caso alguém não obedeça à nossa palavra dada por esta carta, vejam de quem se trata e não se associem com ele, para que fique envergonhado.
15 And, not as an enemy, be esteeming him, but be admonishing him, as a brother.
15 Contudo, não o tratem como inimigo, mas admoestem-no como irmão.
16 But may, the Lord of peace himself, give you peace, always, in every way. The Lord, be with you all.
16 Que o Senhor da paz, ele mesmo, dê a vocês a paz, sempre e de todas as maneiras. O Senhor esteja com todos vocês.
17 The salutation of Paulwith my own hand, which is a sign in every letter: thus, I write.
17 A saudação é de próprio punho: Paulo. Este é o sinal em cada carta; é assim que eu assino.
18 The favour of our Lord Jesus Christ, be with you all.
18 A graça de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo esteja com todos vocês.
