1 Whosoever believeth that, Jesus, is the Christ, of God, hath been born: and, whosoever loveth him that begat, loveth him that hath been begotten of him.
1 Todo aquele que crê que Jesus é o Cristo é nascido de Deus. E todo aquele que ama o Pai também ama os filhos dele.
2 Hereby, perceive we, that we love the children of God, as soon as, God, we love, and, his commandments, we are doing.
2 Sabemos que amamos os filhos de Deus se amamos a Deus e obedecemos a seus mandamentos.
3 For, this is the love of Godthat, his commandments, we be keeping, and, his commandments, are not burdensome;
3 Amar a Deus significa obedecer a seus mandamentos. E seus mandamentos não são difíceis.
4 Because, whatsoever hath been born of God, overcometh the world; and, this, is the victory that hath overcome the worldour faith.
4 Pois todo aquele que é nascido de Deus vence este mundo, e obtemos essa vitória pela fé.
5 And who is he that overcometh the world, save he that believeth that, Jesus, is the Son of God?
5 Quem vence a batalha contra o mundo? Somente quem crê que Jesus é o Filho de Deus.
6 This, is he that came through means of water and blood, Jesus Christ: not, by the water, only, but, by the water and by the blood,and, the Spirit, it is, that is bearing witness, because, the Spirit, is the truth.
6 Jesus Cristo foi revelado por meio de seu batismo na água e pelo derramamento de seu sangue; não só por meio da água, mas pela água e pelo sangue. E o Espírito, que é a verdade, o confirma com seu testemunho.
7 Because, three, are they who are bearing witness
7 Temos, portanto, três testemunhas,
8 The Spirit, and the Water, and the Blood; and, the three, are, , unto one thing.
8 o Espírito, a água e o sangue, e as três concordam entre si.
9 If, the witness of men, we receive, the witness of God, is, greater. Because, this, is the witness of Godin that he hath borne witness concerning his Son,
9 Porque cremos em testemunho humano, certamente podemos crer no testemunho de Deus, que tem ainda mais valor. E Deus dá testemunho acerca de seu Filho.
10 He that believeth on the Son of God, hath the witness, within himself: He that doth not believe God, false, hath made him,because he hath not believed on the witness which, God, hath witnessed, concerning his Son
10 Quem crê no Filho de Deus sabe, em seu coração, que esse testemunho é verdadeiro. Quem não crê nisso, na realidade, chama Deus de mentiroso, porque não crê no testemunho de Deus acerca de seu Filho.
11 And, this, is the witness:that, life age-abiding, hath God given unto us, and, this life, is, in his Son:
11 E este é o testemunho: Deus nos deu vida eterna, e essa vida está em seu Filho.
12 He that hath the Son, hath, the life,he that hath not the Son of God, hath not, the life.
12 Quem tem o Filho tem a vida; quem não tem o Filho de Deus não tem a vida.
13 These things, have I written unto youin order that ye may know that ye have, Life Age-abidingunto you who believe on the name of the Son of God.
13 Escrevi estas coisas a vocês que creem no nome do Filho de Deus para que saibam que têm a vida eterna.
14 And, this, is the boldness which we have towards him: that, if, anything, we ask, according to his will, He doth hearken unto us.
14 Estamos certos de que ele nos ouve sempre que lhe pedimos algo conforme sua vontade.
15 And, if we know that he doth hearken unto us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the things asked, which we have asked of him,
15 E, uma vez que sabemos que ele ouve nossos pedidos, também sabemos que ele nos dará o que pedimos.
16 If one should see his brother committing a sin, not unto death, he shall ask, and He will grant unto him life,for them who are sinning, not unto death. There, is, a sin, unto death: not concerning that, am I saying, that he should make request.
16 Se alguém vir um irmão cometer pecado que não leva à morte, ore por ele, e Deus dará vida a esse irmão que pecou de maneira que não leva à morte. Mas há pecado que leva à morte, e não digo que se deva orar por aqueles que o cometem.
17 All unrighteousness, is, sin, and there, is, a sin, not unto death.
17 Toda injustiça é pecado, mas nem todo pecado leva à morte.
18 We know that, whosoever hath been born of God, is not committing sin,Nay, he that hath been born of God, He keepeth him, and, the wicked one, doth not touch him.
18 Sabemos que os nascidos de Deus não vivem no pecado, pois o Filho de Deus os protege e o maligno não os toca.
19 We know that, of God, are we; and, the whole world, in the wicked one, is lying.
19 Sabemos que somos filhos de Deus e que o mundo inteiro está sob o controle do maligno.
20 We know, moreover, that, the Son of God, hath come, and hath given us insight, so that we are getting to understand, him that is Real,and we are in him that is Real, in his Son Jesus Christ. This, is the Real God, and life age-abiding.
20 E sabemos que o Filho de Deus veio e nos deu entendimento para que conheçamos ao Deus verdadeiro. Agora, vivemos em comunhão com o Deus verdadeiro, porque vivemos em comunhão com seu Filho, Jesus Cristo. Ele é o Deus verdadeiro e é a vida eterna.
21 Dear children! Guard yourselves from idols.
21 Filhinhos, afastem-se dos ídolos.
