Rotherham Version (ROTH) vs NVI
1 Whosoever believeth that, Jesus, is the Christ, of God, hath been born: and, whosoever loveth him that begat, loveth him that hath been begotten of him.
1 Todo aquele que crê que Jesus é o Cristo é nascido de Deus, e todo aquele que ama o Pai ama também ao que dele foi gerado.
2 Hereby, perceive we, that we love the children of God, as soon as, God, we love, and, his commandments, we are doing.
2 Assim sabemos que amamos os filhos de Deus: amando a Deus e obedecendo aos seus mandamentos.
3 For, this is the love of Godthat, his commandments, we be keeping, and, his commandments, are not burdensome;
3 Porque nisto consiste o amor a Deus: obedecer aos seus mandamentos. E os seus mandamentos não são pesados.
4 Because, whatsoever hath been born of God, overcometh the world; and, this, is the victory that hath overcome the worldour faith.
4 O que é nascido de Deus vence o mundo; e esta é a vitória que vence o mundo: a nossa fé.
5 And who is he that overcometh the world, save he that believeth that, Jesus, is the Son of God?
5 Quem é que vence o mundo? Somente aquele que crê que Jesus é o Filho de Deus.
6 This, is he that came through means of water and blood, Jesus Christ: not, by the water, only, but, by the water and by the blood,and, the Spirit, it is, that is bearing witness, because, the Spirit, is the truth.
6 Este é aquele que veio por meio de água e sangue, Jesus Cristo: não somente por água, mas por água e sangue. E o Espírito é quem dá testemunho, porque o Espírito é a verdade.
7 Because, three, are they who are bearing witness
7 Há três que dão testemunho:
8 The Spirit, and the Water, and the Blood; and, the three, are, , unto one thing.
8 o Espírito, a água e o sangue; e os três são unânimes.
9 If, the witness of men, we receive, the witness of God, is, greater. Because, this, is the witness of Godin that he hath borne witness concerning his Son,
9 Nós aceitamos o testemunho dos homens, mas o testemunho de Deus tem maior valor, pois é o testemunho de Deus, que ele dá acerca de seu Filho.
10 He that believeth on the Son of God, hath the witness, within himself: He that doth not believe God, false, hath made him,because he hath not believed on the witness which, God, hath witnessed, concerning his Son
10 Quem crê no Filho de Deus tem em si mesmo esse testemunho. Quem não crê em Deus o faz mentiroso, porque não crê no testemunho que Deus dá acerca de seu Filho.
11 And, this, is the witness:that, life age-abiding, hath God given unto us, and, this life, is, in his Son:
11 E este é o testemunho: Deus nos deu a vida eterna, e essa vida está em seu Filho.
12 He that hath the Son, hath, the life,he that hath not the Son of God, hath not, the life.
12 Quem tem o Filho, tem a vida; quem não tem o Filho de Deus, não tem a vida.
13 These things, have I written unto youin order that ye may know that ye have, Life Age-abidingunto you who believe on the name of the Son of God.
13 Escrevi-lhes estas coisas, a vocês que crêem no nome do Filho de Deus, para que vocês saibam que têm a vida eterna.
14 And, this, is the boldness which we have towards him: that, if, anything, we ask, according to his will, He doth hearken unto us.
14 Esta é a confiança que temos ao nos aproximarmos de Deus: se pedirmos alguma coisa de acordo com a sua vontade, ele nos ouve.
15 And, if we know that he doth hearken unto us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the things asked, which we have asked of him,
15 E se sabemos que ele nos ouve em tudo o que pedimos, sabemos que temos o que dele pedimos.
16 If one should see his brother committing a sin, not unto death, he shall ask, and He will grant unto him life,for them who are sinning, not unto death. There, is, a sin, unto death: not concerning that, am I saying, that he should make request.
16 Se alguém vir seu irmão cometer pecado que não leva à morte, ore, e Deus lhe dará vida. Refiro-me àqueles cujo pecado não leva à morte. Há pecado que leva à morte; não estou dizendo que se deva orar por este.
17 All unrighteousness, is, sin, and there, is, a sin, not unto death.
17 Toda injustiça é pecado, mas há pecado que não leva à morte.
18 We know that, whosoever hath been born of God, is not committing sin,Nay, he that hath been born of God, He keepeth him, and, the wicked one, doth not touch him.
18 Sabemos que todo aquele que é nascido de Deus não está no pecado; aquele que nasceu de Deus o protege, e o Maligno não o atinge.
19 We know that, of God, are we; and, the whole world, in the wicked one, is lying.
19 Sabemos que somos de Deus e que o mundo todo está sob o poder do Maligno.
20 We know, moreover, that, the Son of God, hath come, and hath given us insight, so that we are getting to understand, him that is Real,and we are in him that is Real, in his Son Jesus Christ. This, is the Real God, and life age-abiding.
20 Sabemos também que o Filho de Deus veio e nos deu entendimento, para que conheçamos aquele que é o Verdadeiro. E nós estamos naquele que é o Verdadeiro, em seu Filho Jesus Cristo. Este é o verdadeiro Deus e a vida eterna.
21 Dear children! Guard yourselves from idols.
21 Filhinhos, guardem-se dos ídolos.
