1 And it canto to pass, after this, that David smote the Philistines, and subdued them,and took Gath and her villages, out of the hand of the Philistines.
1 Depois disso, Davi derrotou e sujeitou os filisteus, conquistando Gate e seus povoados.
2 And he smote Moab,and the Moabites became servants to David, bearers of a present.
2 Também conquistou a terra de Moabe, e os moabitas que foram poupados se tornaram súditos de Davi e lhe pagaram tributo.
3 And David smote Hadarezer king of Zobah, towards Hamath,as he went to establish his hold of the river Euphrates.
3 Davi também destruiu o exército de Hadadezer, rei de Zobá, derrotando-o em Hamate, quando Hadadezer tentou fortalecer seu controle ao longo do rio Eufrates.
4 And David captured from him a thousand chariots, and seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen,and David destroyed all the chariots, saving that he reserved from them a hundred chariots.
4 Davi tomou mil carros de guerra, sete mil cavaleiros e vinte mil soldados da infantaria. Levou cavalos suficientes para cem carros de guerra e aleijou o restante.
5 And, when the Syrians of Damascus came to help Hadarezer king of Zobah, David smote of the Syrians, twenty-two thousand men.
5 Quando os sírios de Damasco chegaram para ajudar Hadadezer, rei de Zobá, Davi matou 22 mil deles.
6 And David put in Syria of Damascus, and so it was that the Syrians became, Davids, servants, bearers of a present,so Yahweh gave victory to David, whithersoever he went.
6 Então colocou destacamentos de seu exército em Damasco, a capital dos sírios. Assim Davi sujeitou os sírios, e eles lhe pagaram tributo. O S enhor concedia vitórias a Davi por onde quer que ele fosse.
7 And David took the shields of gold, that were upon the servants of Hadarezer,and brought them to Jerusalem;
7 Davi levou para Jerusalém os escudos de ouro dos oficiais de Hadadezer,
8 also, from Tibhath and from Cun, cities of Hadarezer, David took very much bronze,therewith, did Solomon make the sea of bronze, and the pillars, and the vessels of bronze.
8 bem como grande quantidade de bronze de Tebá e de Cum, cidades que pertenciam a Hadadezer. Mais tarde, Salomão derreteu o bronze e o usou para fazer o grande tanque de bronze chamado Mar, as colunas e os diversos utensílios de bronze do templo.
9 And, when Tou, king of Hamath, heard that David had smitten all the force of Hadarezer king of Zobah,
9 Quando Toí, rei de Hamate, soube que Davi tinha destruído todo o exército de Hadadezer, rei de Zobá,
10 he sent Hadoram his son unto King David, to ask after his welfare, and to bless him, because he had made war against Hadarezer and had smitten him, for, a man making wars against Tou, had been Hadarezer,and all manner of vessels of gold and silver and bronze;
10 enviou seu filho Jorão para parabenizar Davi por sua campanha bem-sucedida. Hadadezer e Toí eram inimigos e sempre estavam em guerra. Jorão presenteou Davi com objetos de prata, ouro e bronze.
11 them also, did King David hallow unto Yahweh, with the silver and the gold, that he bare away from all the nations,from Edom, and from Moab, and from the sons of Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from Amalek.
11 O rei Davi dedicou todos esses presentes ao S enhor , junto com a prata e o ouro que ele havia tomado de outras nações: de Edom, Moabe, Amom, da Filístia e de Amaleque.
12 Moreover, Abishai, son of Zeruiah, smote Edom, in the Valley of Salt,eighteen thousand;
12 Abisai, filho de Zeruia, destruiu dezoito mil edomitas no vale do Sal.
13 and set, in Edom, garrisons, and all Edom became servants unto David,and Yahweh gave David the victory, whithersoever he went.
13 Colocou destacamentos do exército em Edom e, assim, todos os edomitas se tornaram súditos de Davi. O S enhor concedia vitórias a Davi por onde quer que ele fosse.
14 So David reigned over all Israel,and he was executing justice and righteousness for all his people;
14 Davi reinou sobre todo o Israel e fazia o que era justo e correto para seu povo.
15 and, Joab, son of Zeruiah, was over the army,and, Jehoshaphat, son of Elihud, was recorder;
15 Joabe, filho de Zeruia, era comandante de seu exército. Josafá, filho de Ailude, era o historiador do reino.
16 and, Zadok, son of Ahitub, and Abimelech son of Abiathar, were priests,and, Shavsha, was scribe;
16 Zadoque, filho de Aitube, e Aimeleque, filho de Abiatar, eram sacerdotes. Seraías era o secretário da corte.
17 and, Benaiah, son of Jehoiada, was over the Cherethites, and the Pelethites,and, the sons of David, were first, in attendance on the king.
17 Benaia, filho de Joiada, era comandante da guarda pessoal do rei. E os filhos de Davi eram seus assistentes diretos.
